I've spent months listening to these really clever and funny people. Loved playing KoL. These guys are just such interesting people they make my work less tedious when I work and this makes my life better. Love you Zack, Kevin and Riff.

Video game hipsters poop on AAA titles and wax nostalgic. Usually at some point they get into a flow wherein they make some really good points about gameplay, management, artistic style and execution which, I think, is worth listening for. However, there are other instances when they come across as sort of pedantic. Anyway, it's mostly puns.

I am on the internet alot and like to think I know about all games that come out that have any significance. Video Games Hot Dog destroys this conception by talking about very different games than any other podcast.

VGHD, ahhh where to begin? The rambling, the genius puzzles, the development grind talk? This is one of the best. It took me a little while to get acclimated to the conversations due to getting lost and not knowing what they were referencing but after a couple episodes you get the hang of it. Now, I feel like I'm hanging out with guys alot cooler than myself. Yay.

I found Video Games Hot Dog via Kingdom of Loathing but would totally recommend this podcast to people outside of that game's community. Its a fun look at current gaming news as well as inside perspectives from indie game developers. Check it out!

Probably handful of best video game podcasts. Legitimately funny. I actually laugh out loud (I am not even that type of person) Also they get into really obscure games and talk about old designers that I have to look up. Keep it up.

I last reviewed this podcast on Sep 01, 2013. I like this podcast enough to rate and review it on iTunes, even though I don't use iTunes. That's how much I like it.

Not a bunch of a-holes. A variety of perspectives on a variety of games. It’s nice to hear commentary from people in the industry rather than just a bunch of dudes complaining about things. Also they’re respectful of women, that doesn’t seem like it should have to be a comment, but it apparently warrants a mention. The Zack vs Kevin "debates" are my favorite part.

One of the best video game podcasts I've ever listened to, Zack, Kevin, Riff, and Jim deserve full accommodations for their hard work and hilarious jokes!

While I enjoy the entirety of each episode, I will say that my favorite part of each episode is the end. I don't mean that I can't wait for each episode to end, but that I love the part each episode where Zack says the tagline (now variable) and Kevin audibly dies just a little bit on the inside.

I think I remember them asking for reviews, but with all the podcasts I listen to, it honestly runs together. They deserve all 5 stars.

Can't get enough of those soothing tones

Jim Crawford (of Frog Fraction fame) just recently mentioned that he will be trying to make a weekly appearance on the show, which I think is a great new addition. Weird, creative, funny, esoteric -- listen to this if you like a study of old video games and what we can learn from them in a modern context. Focuses especially on PC and mobile gaming, although an occasional console is dusted off.

Amazing stuff. I'm finally caught up to the most recent episode, and will probably start playing along with the assignments pretty soon. Most of the games that they speak highly of have been amazing, and they're hilarious and fun to listen to.

Somehow these guys manage to develop games full time, have time left over to play tons of video(and other) games, and put together an entertaining podcast. I suspect saucery.

What's to say? It's great!

Even if I don't want to play the games they talk about, most times I still do just to have and share in the experience on their forums. Good show! Nice podcast bros!

Fantastic reviews of all the up-and-coming indie games, as well as some old classics. Add to that their fantastic humor and you got the best vidjagames podcast I listen to.

Very funny, a lot of interesting insight and opinions about games and gaming news. They also have another podcast for their game (The KOL Podcast) which is just as good as this one.

It's possible that there may be people more knowledgable about video games, there may be people better at playing video games, there may be people who make better jokes about video games, there may even be people better at shouting "“Increase Coarse Twine to 2, EVERYBODY SHAKE", but there is no one out there who keeps all those balls in the air at once like the crews of Video Games Hot Dog and Video Games Taco. They will then make clever jokes about those balls. Shun your other video games podcasts. Stop reading Rock Paper Shotgun. Cancel your Escapist subscription. VGHD is all you need, especially if what you need includes all the best video games from about 1985 until around Fallout 3, plus Minecraft and Spelunky It's like having amazingly literate friends steeped in video game history, design, psychology, and architechture who also happen to be hilarious, and they let you come visit every week. Really, it's a treat for any self-styled gamer or nerd.

This is a podcast where guys who work on a video game discuss other video games. I think out of the hundreds of podcasts that fit that description, this one is the best.

been listening to these guys on one show or another for five-plus years. love, love, love them. no group of people has changed my critical thinking about video games like these guys.

So I'm gonna give them five stars, since I like the show and they're some nice podcast bros.
