Travel Party of 5

Do you struggle to understand how people travel using points and miles from credit cards? It can be easy to waste a lot of time learning travel hacking on your own, especially if you find it complex and confusing.

Let us pull back the curtain and show you how you can maximize money you're already spending to earn enough credit card points and miles to travel with your family for nearly free.

We've used credit card points and miles to take our family of 5 on trips to places like Costa Rica, San Diego, Disneyland, Oceanside, NYC, Washington DC, Hawaii, and next year we have already booked Paris, Spain and Japan!

Using credit card points and miles (often called travel hacking) doesn't have to be overwhelming or take a ton of time, and we can show you how.

Can you earn a lot of points and miles without opening up multiple credit cards? Only if you have a really high amount of spend each month. For people with larger families, opening new cards is the easiest and fastest way to earn enough points and miles to take a couple of really low cost (but not low budget) family vacations every year!

If you want to learn ways to help you and your family travel more affordably using credit card points, this show is for you.

    Big family travel!
I have gotten into the points game over the last year or so primarily because my family has grown to 5 people and travel starts to get expensive fast! This is the first podcast I’ve found that truly focuses on how to play this game not just as a single person able to take a week vacation at a moments notice but for a family with working parents and kids that have their own schedule.

Authentic and so helpful, my favorite travel podcast!
I came across this podcast when planning my family’s first international trip…which is costing a fortune because I had no idea what was possible in the world of points and miles. I have learned so much from Raya and Duane, and most of all appreciate how authentic they are talking about the reality of traveling with young kids, which is a perspective that I don’t get from other travel podcasts. I now already have a free beach vacation booked for this summer and a strategy that really opens new opportunities for my family. Thanks so much!

    Lots of helpful information -
I’m so glad I found this podcast. I’m excited to listen to more but I find them very helpful and Raya and Duane are so relatable and down to earth. Thanks for all your helpful tips. I’m also on a quest to get AA status and looking forward to hearing more about your journey in this as well.

Family of 4 travel on points
I am trying to find ways for my family of 4 to travel and Travel Party of 5 is the best podcast I found so far! Other podcasts I’ve found don’t have as much information for booking flights for 4 . I love how specific Raya is and that she explains her reasoning and process ❤️

    Such a Helpful podcast!
Really loved hearing about your cards and the strategies used in getting them. Since I have 5 in our family, it’s nice to hear how you use points for your family. Also loved the episode on Europe! Great as I’m new to this hobby. Looking forward to what you have next.

    Love the family travel perspective
I love that this show concentrates on family travel with points. So many podcasts focus on luxury travel and Travel Party of 5 gives you a more realistic view of points and miles travel. I also like the practical reviews of hotels and destinations.

Useful podcast for points and miles tips and reviews for family travel!
We are a family of 4 with 2 kids and I really enjoy listening to the Travel Party of 5 podcast! We are planning to go to Kauai, San Diego, and Chicago in the near future so it was great to hear the episodes on their reviews of their trips and how they booked those. Thanks for sharing your experiences and look forward to more episodes on family travel!

Must Listen Podcast for Traveling Families and Budget Conscious Nomads
I discovered this podcast from researching the various travel credit cards on the market. They provide insightful tips on how to save money, plus they give you experiences from their trips that I found useful. I love that they sound real and not talking down to you. They teach you that T rue savings are out there for everyone as long as you have good credit and knowledge of how to use your yearly spend wisely. Highly recommended!

    Family of 5
As a family of 5, I was so excited to find this podcast because I felt like everything would apply to us! We just booked our first trip on points so I’ve been listening to lots of podcasts leading up to it and I’ve learned so much from this podcast. Other points podcasts focus on business class flights but this podcast focuses on typical families. The dynamic between hosts Raya and Duane is hilarious. That is totally the dynamic between me and my husband as well - as the details person, I plan, book and research the trips and my husband is just along for the ride!

    Great podcast for travel tips
Love the podcast for all the tips. I've learned lots of things I've never thought of for family travel. We've never used points for travel bc taking the time to figure it out seemed daunting. The way they explain it make makes it so easy to understand! Thanks!

    Good Information and Entertaining
As a family of five getting into points and miles for the first time, this is a great podcast. They provide a lot of good information on different points programs, loyalty programs, credit cards, and useful hotel and airline reviews. They break it down in an understandable way and are cute and entertaining. I’d love to see more large-family specific content like booking AIs, traveling internationally (needing two rooms vs suites), and finding rewards flights for 5 people together.

Great info for a family of 5!
As a family of a 5 I love hearing about traveling with a larger family. It’s especially helpful to hear about specific vacations you have taken and what hotels you used. It gives me ideas of where we could go for our next trip! Thanks!

    Great Podcast
I love this podcast! I’ve been using points and miles for a few years and love hearing how others utilize them too. Listening to Raya and Duane reminds me so much of me and my husband (aka getting emails about cards and hotel stays my husband knows nothing about). 🤣 I feel like I always learn something new from this podcast as they provide valuable information in a format that is easy to understand. They also have a great dynamic and sense of humor so it’s fun to listen! This is definitely one of my favorite podcasts and I’m always waiting for the next new episode! 😊

    Very relatable
I’m new to points and miles AND have a family of 5 with kiddos of similar ages to Raya’s kids. This podcast is so relatable and great for beginners. I agree with the other reviewer on volume issues with the podcast. Would love to hear more about room types/suites you book at hotels to accommodate the family. We’ve been opting to stay at vacation rentals due to being cramped. Thanks for this great content!

    Great points and miles advice!
I was looking for a podcast that expanded my points and miles knowledge and stumbled upon this one and absolutely love it! Not only do they offer points and miles advice, but they go in detail about activities they do on their trips as well as ways to make travel with kids easier! Great podcast!

    Wonderfully Approachable!
I’m really enjoying this show and love that they bring the larger-family approach to points travel. Lovely couple with nice banter mixed in. One note to Raya & Duane: your volume goes up and down a lot during the podcast almost like you both are turning your heads away and towards the mics as you talk. It makes it hard because unless I adjust the volume constantly I either miss half of what you’re saying or get blasted in the ears the other half. Just a minor note and it won’t keep me from listening :)

Great tips for family travel from normal people
Stumbled across this podcast while planning a trip to Costa Rica, and I started listening to other episodes. Part of the reason this podcast is great is that they have not been doing this forever and they are not the foremost experts on family travel or points and miles - but yet they know what they’re talking about. This makes it feel more relatable for people starting out on family travel, and they have some great tips.

    Amazing information!
Wow, love that this podcast focuses on helping bigger families travel more!
  • Learning how to do it
    Family travel is actually possible!
What a great podcast to learn how to travel with my family in an affordable way. My family of four loves adventure but we find ourselves doing the same cheap trips all the time because we don’t know the tricks of budgeting and hacks for points to get us where we really want to go. This is opening up so many more options for me. Can’t wait to get my Southwest companion pass. :) Definitely worth listening to if you want to learn from a real family that’s actually figured out the map for traveling with a group on a budget!
