My plane would definitely be video game-related. Perhaps I would have a reveal similar to Van’s, but rather than watching a movie, I’m playing a video game of my life. Part of the plane would be on fire. My mother would be there, because if anyone’s going to hijack my death to make it about them, it will be her. Teenage me will be there too, like “Shut up Mom! Who even invited you?” While I stare terrified into the camera. Also, if I may offer a critique, I do feel like people are harder on teen Travis than other characters, and don’t give him the same grace as them, in terms of understanding why he is the way he is. Let us not forget that everyone is a product of their environment. Anyway, love you two! My ADHD brain relates so hard to Andrea’s personality and humor, while Jodie reminds me of my older sister, trying to steer the ship. <3

I love the way this podcast uses all of NJ’s wild lore to properly contextualize the magic that is yellow jackets. Jody and Andrea rock!

Oh boy. I absolutely love this pod. I listen to MANY YJ podcasts and this one stands out. It’s funny, my other favorite one is also hosted by two queer women. I am a gay man and I’m from Philly (my boyfriend is from NJ). I’m 38 years old so I love the conversations about fun 90s stuff. Someone left a review that said “it feels like I’m hanging out with my smart friends” and I couldn’t agree more. Thank you Jodie and Andrea! Yous are my spirit animals. Ps let’s be friends. This is a fantastic podcast. I have some thoughts about Shauna’s braids in episode 10 of Season 3. When Akilah is telling Gen, Melissa, and Mari that she has an idea to initiate a hunt you can see Misty braiding Shauna’s hair in the background. We see Shauna with a few different style of braids in the episode (a classic french braid as well as a fishtail braid). I am convinced that Misty had a collection of American Girl Dolls back home that she use to practice hair braiding on.

It’s a nice, easy listen. Makes me feel like hanging out with my smart friends. The thought they put into each episode is extraordinary, and I really appreciate everything I’m learning about film and literature.

Jody and Andrea are so smart and so funny! I have been a Yellowjackets fan since episode one. I have been having the best time with season three and it has been such a revelation to listen to two queer New Jersey Tomatoes enjoy it as much as I do. I listen to a lot of other pods following the show and I look forward to The Watchers and House of R the most. I think these women understand what the show is trying to say better than most, but they don’t invalidate other’s critiques (even though I do! Haha!). The Jersey and queer representation is so needed for Yellowjackets and it is sorely lacking from most other pods I have heard. Totally worth a listen! Buzz buzz buzz!

I’m an elder millennial from NY state (45 minutes from the Jersey border) and so much of what y’all discuss hits home for me too. Amazing chemistry between you two and I love the in depth Yellowjackets discussions. Oh, and the best Slurpee flavor is white cherry!

I have been listening to The Watchers since the beginning- I believe I heard about it on sadly departed NJITW. You can’t get any better than 2 women from NJ discussing this show- it’s funny and thoughtful, and the hosts often point out things I may have missed. Both hosts are great- but I have to give Jodi a special mention for representing Bergen County. I will also never give up my 201 phone number.

So excited to have new Yellowjackets content! This is a great idea rewatching season 1 having watched all of season 2. I was a suburban teen in the 90’s and the nostalgia of it all…the hosts capture that so well. The music!!!!

I find myself laughing and talking back to the hosts as I listen because it feels so much like hanging out with friends. It is such a delightful podcast to have on while doing chores. I just cleaner for an hour and a half and only knew it had been that long because the episode ended! Honestly, a miracle.

I am so happy to have found a link to this on Reddit at the beginning of the second season. Every episode feels like I’m having a discussion with friends. Even if you’re just looking for a great Yellowjackets podcast, I VERY MUCH encourage you to stick around for their off season content. I could literally listen to these hosts talk for days.

I'm so glad I found this podcast, I listen to almost all of the other Yellowjackets podcasts and this is my favorite due to the hosts' intelligent discussion and obvious respect for each other. I'd love to hear you guys do a book club in the off-season.

I’m so happy I found this podcast (via Reddit)- these two are so easy to listen to, while having great insights and fun asides without getting too carried away. I appreciate that they take time to digest each episode so they can have a thoughtful conversation, rather than rushing out some quippy hot takes. I look forward to seeing what conversations come out in the “off” season!
