    Clearly not for me
Wow, the clear classism and racism in the episode with Liz McRory was so off putting I decided not to continue listening. When explaining the issues she saw in her public school she said “it was section 8 housing, there were a lot of single-parent households, some parents were in prison and there was chaos at home that they brought to school. And it was cultural, I just couldn’t relate because I hadn’t grown up this way.” I’m sorry, I’m just not interested in hearing from someone who thinks poor children who are facing more challenges at home are the problem.

    Homeschool with heart.
The decision to homeschool for many is so hard. Full of what ifs and I’m not good enoughs. This podcast is so great because we get to hear from the full spectrum of those voices. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Each with the perfect encouragement when I didn’t even know I needed it.

    REAL
What a breath of fresh air this podcast is! I am struggling with depression and anxiety right now in life and the episode about how to do the hard work on yourself while also still homeschooling was exactly what I needed to hear. I am so grateful for the honesty presented in that episode and also the knowledge that I am not the only one who deals with these heavy feelings. The encouragement and straight talk helped me realize that I can still homeschool through this and gave me practical solutions for how to manage. THANK YOU!!!

Im in an exploratory mode of learning about what homeschooling could look like for my family. It’s no surprise to me that Lia is well spoken and has a clear plan for this podcast. I have followed her in her “other” leadership roll. I’m excited to get the chance to learn from her in this arena, too.
