Wow, the clear classism and racism in the episode with Liz McRory was so off putting I decided not to continue listening. When explaining the issues she saw in her public school she said “it was section 8 housing, there were a lot of single-parent households, some parents were in prison and there was chaos at home that they brought to school. And it was cultural, I just couldn’t relate because I hadn’t grown up this way.” I’m sorry, I’m just not interested in hearing from someone who thinks poor children who are facing more challenges at home are the problem.

This is so well named. It’s a podcast for regular people who want to or find themselves homeschooling. I’ve been homeschooling for 2 years are there are so many great ideas I’ve gotten from this. Lia knocks it out of the park with this podcast.

What a breath of fresh air this podcast is! I am struggling with depression and anxiety right now in life and the episode about how to do the hard work on yourself while also still homeschooling was exactly what I needed to hear. I am so grateful for the honesty presented in that episode and also the knowledge that I am not the only one who deals with these heavy feelings.
