mandy2014best fandom podcast everI’ve spent the last 4 months straight binging the backlog for this show every single day in the car to and from work, and it’s hands down Thee Best fandom podcast I’ve ever listened to. I discovered it because I too host a podcast centered around queer fandom and we happened to be tagged in multiple Spotify Wrapped posts on insta. Having just rewatched all of New Who in anticipation of the 60th specials, and also never being able to quite find a fandom podcast that I connected with, I listened to Wholala’s most recent episode on the first 60th special and quickly decided to just go back and binge the entire series. Sam and Alasdair’s hosting is hilarious and sincere, both qualities that made me fall in love with Doctor Who in the first place. And it doesn’t hurt that we’re the same age, queer, and just as obsessed with/overwhelmed with nostalgia by RTD 1—so most of the time I’m just in my car nodding and repeating “Exactly. Yes. Right. EXACTLY.” Listening to Wholala made me start rewatching New Who AGAIN even though I JUST DID THAT, and also made me fall in love with elements of the show, certain characters, and seasons that I previously didn’t give as much of a chance because of the caring and enthusiastic way they approach their rewatches and discussions. This review is getting too long, and I can’t say enough about how obsessed I am with this podcast (it’s the only one I’ve listened to, like I literally stopped listening to my other podcasts I follow!!!!). I’m almost caught up and I will be truly disappointed I can’t binge it anymore and will have to wait for new episodes with everyone else. If y'all are reading this THANK YOU BOTH for a truly amazing podcast, I’m thankful to have found y’all <3 Amanda from Fangirl Central

Jaime Sandovalmy favorite Who podcastsam and alisdair are so funny and charming. i would listen to them talk about anything: legal advice, gardening, the gut-brain connection, anything—but luckily they talk about my favorite thing in the world: Doccy Who! i loved their coverage of the first series as that’s such an overlooked era of the show, and i’m loving it even more now that they’re diving into classic who! would love more episodes discussing big finish stories, novels, and comics!

Emmi456Queer & Delightful!!If you’re not listening to Wholala, what are you doing?! It’s smart, hilarious, and a very cozy listen. Truly feels like hanging out with your besties and shooting the breeze. It’s a lighthearted look back at what it was like to be a fan of Doctor Who in the mid-2000s and a meaningful exploration of how fans’ relationships to the show grow and change as they get older. The hosts are absolutely charming, I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough!!
