    Loyal Braveheart
Dr. Sherrie, you are incredible. I am not much of a review-writer but your most recent episode about the link between toxic family abuse and OCD was so spot-on and timely. How had I not considered the connection? It’s plain as day! 🤯 Despite the alphabet soup of mental health diagnoses I am afflicted with (against my will, I might add — does anyone else just simply resent this? I didn’t ask for any of this!) and the time I have spent desperately wondering how my life might be today had I had parents who loved me, you make me feel like I still have some choices in the matter. I appreciate the frankness in which you discuss some of sadder realities of life and how to LIVE with them — keyword LIVE. You actually talk about coping skills and break them down, step-by-step, which is what people who tend to be in the grip (like me) really need. Also, your acknowledgment that most of us will deal with our trauma in some way for the rest of our lives actually makes me feel more resilient because it’s the truth, something so many of us grew up without because everything had to be “perfect all the time.” And I love hearing your own anecdotes. I relate to so many of them. When I listen to you, I like to imagine everyone else listening all over the world and how they might be feeling better in that moment, too. Thank you for doing what you do. My life is small but dignified and we will likely never meet, but your podcast makes a big difference in it. I know I can’t be alone. Sincerely, A ‘Braveheart’

Thank you Dr. Sherrie for validating my life with my sibling abuser and my other, enabling siblings. Every single sentence is is relate able to my life experiences more than any other book I’ve completed your book Adult Survivors of Toxic Families and now diving into your podcast before I read your other books. Your coming forward with your experiences is invaluable to me - I feel validated and not alone!

    Life Changing
I believe I have not understood the meaning of the two words “life changing”. Having someone validate private words and thoughts in your head is life changing. Just realizing you are not alone is such a relief. Your podcasts and books have been such a blessing to me. Completely life changing. Please keep doing what you’re doing ! Thank you.

Fantastic podcast for healing and perspective
I was hesitant to pay for access to this podcast when there is so much free advice and content available. I am SO glad I paid for this, it is 100% worth the money. There is a ton of fantastic advice that touches a wide range of subjects for those of us healing from toxic families. I listen to the episodes more than once. After going through the podcast I purchased two of Sherrie’s books. They are also worth the purchase! Dr. Sherrie, thank you so much for the work you do and support you offer. I feel seen for the first time ever.

A Game changer! Jaw dropping truth is spoken here!
When I first stumbled upon this podcast, I could not believe what I was hearing! It was everything I needed, finally, a voice, validating everything I have gone through since my childhood. Every episode speaks my truth, validates my feelings, an answers the hundreds of questions I have asked myself. Before finding this podcast, I was so confused, alienated, and nothing made sense. Now having listened to this entire series up to this point, the weight has been lifted, the truth is so clear and it all makes sense. All the pieces of the puzzle fit! And the gift of freedom from this toxicity is right in front of me. I am on the path and because of this podcast I have the courage and feel so empowered! So thankful for this!

    Essential to going no contact
Going no contact with toxic family is one of the hardest things you can do. It’s agonizing, but this podcast walks you through every step. For many of us it’s the first time anyone has validated our emotions and experiences. I will be listening to this not just once, but multiple times because of the strength it’s given me.
  • paminy
Her books and podcast are incredibly helpful!
I have made the decision to go no contact with my father and his psychologically and emotionally abusive covert narcissist wife. She snapped him up when he was vulnerable after my mom died and has done all the toxic manipulations discussed here. I’m the scapegoat. My father has been brainwashed by her and has now begun to behave towards me like she has. I tried for 30 years to get along with her because I love my dad and he used to be a great dad before my mom died. This woman he married has been unleashing poison and toxicity on his kids (mostly me) for 30 years now. I’m done. This podcast and two books by Sherri Campbell are helping me feel validated and that I’m not crazy or imagining things. She is also helping me to understand toxic personalities and why I need to stay strong in my decision to go no contact. No-one should have to suffer through toxic family abuse. I’m glad I found her books and her podcast. I wholeheartedly recommend delving into both the podcast and her books if you’re currently in a similar situation.

    Thankful
I am so thankful for finding your books and now the podcast. This has helped me more than you know. I have been dealing with a toxic family for years and finally I have a safe place. A place of no blame, judgement or of feeling “what’s wrong with me”. I have learned and applied many of the things you have opened my eyes and heart to. Thank you!

    So many Aaha moments
I am the scapegoat position in my toxic family. My role was solidified Jan 2015 when I was finally able to quit drinking. 8+ years later, I have zoomed back and seen all the signs and behavior described in the many podcast episodes. I have two older sisters and a mom who hate that I am the truth teller and a dad who goes along to get along. It has been a long 8 year journey and my sisters have never met my almost 6 year old daughter. (Absolutely) Heartbreaking but necessary. My second oldest sister is the toxic member who has convinced my other sister and my mom, through lies and manipulation, that I am the problem. Worth noting that she is recently divorced and extremely successful in her field which adds to the difficulty as my mother can’t see her faults or lies. I am trying to maintain relations with my folks but proving harder and harder with each year. These podcasts have reinforced what I’ve believed but have never found anywhere else. Listening to episodes that don’t necessarily apply now have completed the picture of my toxic family system. Good luck all!

    Healing
I have finally reached a no contact moment in my life with my emotional and physically abusive toxic family member. This has helped me understand deep rooted tiggers, emotional and mental issues I we through as a teen. With these sessions I am finally standing up for me and my parents ! I truely feel so grateful I stumbled upon Dr. Sherrie while experiencing this extremely difficult and painful process of no contact.

    LOVE these Sherapy sessions!
I am so grateful I found Sherrie! There’s no way I could’ve made it through all this crazy dysfunctional family trauma without her! I only wish I could afford her private therapy! Maybe some day… Sherrie has THE BEST advice! I am very much looking forward to each new session she posts, they always come at the perfect time! I’ve also read her books and am currently putting them into practice! Love her so much!!

    Very helpful
I found Sherapy on a whim searching for extra help dealing with a toxic family member. My toxic in law has only been a part of my life for 7 years, but toxicity has shown up only since my father passed. I cannot BELIEVE how the toxicity affected me and how fast things changed whithin that year. I was shaken, VERY confused, and I literally thought I was going crazy. These sessions really helped validate my feelings and my intuition about what was REALLY going on. Forever grateful. Thank you!!!!

You are not wrong and not alone
Cutting out toxic family members is one of the most devastating and yet necessary actions an emotionally abused person can take. It can be a hard and lonely path full of confusion. Dr. Sherrie is a survivor and brilliantly articulates the exact confusion, doubts and trauma victims struggle with. She is the clear and loving voice that validates your journey and reminds you that you are not alone and like her; you too will survive.

So much help in so few minutes!
Finding Dr Sherrie on Instagram and subscribing to this podcast has been life changing. I am so grateful for her wisdom and support, and the “shares” from this community as well. My circumstances are such that I don’t feel comfortable sharing details with friends, they just would not understand. The small fee to subscribe to this podcast is nominal compared to the value the Sherapy brings to my life. Thank you so much Dr!

    Empowering and insightful
This podcast has helped me and my partner immensely! Before discovering Dr. Sherrie I was living in a cloud of confusion and hurt. Nothing our toxic family did was logical and I was reeling for answers. Every episode is so spot on, I feel like she is speaking to me and our situation directly. She has given us insight, understanding, answers, and courage. I can’t thank her and recommend this podcast enough for someone who has toxic unhealthy family members. She has been a huge part in our healing!
  • Akayefit
    Just WOW
This podcast has helped me through so much. It’s especially helped me realize that I don’t need to feel guilty to do what’s best for myself and my family. My mental health is priority and this podcast has helped me navigate through my family struggles. I’m now without a mother, father, and two older sisters. I’m grateful to still have a relationship with my younger brother who doesn’t judge me for doing what’s best for me and my own family. I’ve actually helped him navigate through some things with this podcast as well! At the end of the day, abuse is abuse, even from our own family. And to find someone who’s actually lived through it makes this podcast even more amazing. Please don’t pass this up. Pay the monthly rate, because those few dollars will save you a lifetime of pain. Life’s too short to not live it for yourself and to surround yourself with unconditional love and support.

    On my way
I have already worked through a lot of this, but I did not know there were so many of us out here. I am reading Adult survivors of toxic families. ( I recommend strongly) I understand my family is toxic all three of my sisters my mother and both bio dad( who passed recently) and father who adopted me and my two sisters. I am now at a place where walking away witch I have recently blocked everyone. The question is do I need to let them know I am n longer accessible or just stay silent. Most of my family is in a different state. I broke away the first time over 10 yrs ago I’ve a horrific FB rant by my mother about my daughter . I recently reconnected with my older sister but quickly see I am still an option to them.

    Stonewalling
AH HA moments .. stonewallers want to dodge connection; used to minimize my feelings; there will be resolution; it is used as a defense against from having to take responsibility!! There is no intention to repair anything. It has taken decades to internalize I will never get closure and to stop going to the stone wall. Thank you Dr. Sherrie for letting me know I am not alone.

    So helpful and validating
Love this podcast! Extremely validating. I would love it if there were more scenarios given, examples, or hypothetical situations. It would help me understand how this plays out in real life. I would love to hear more stories as well from real people. Would love examples of things to say and how to respond.

I have no doubts this is a 5 star podcast❤️ Edit ⭐️ After listening to every episode multiple times I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Podcasts and books
Wow, I am not a reader but I’ve read both her books (in days) and now subscribe to her podcasts. Her information is so relatable I feel she’s talking to me. I’ve gained so much insight and clarity from my situation that has weighed me down this past year and what I knew but wouldn’t admit my whole life. I’m now listening to her podcasts as I walk daily (taking care of myself)and gain a new appreciation for myself. Looking forward to hearing all her episodes!

If you have a toxic family member, this podcast is for you!
This podcast and your books are literally life changing. There is not a lot out there for children/family members of covert narcissists, so I am so thankful for all the information you are putting out there. It is so validating to hear you put into words my whole life experience. You have given me words for things I have felt, but could never find the words for. You have helped me understand why it is so hard to explain my experiences to people who haven’t experienced this type of abuse. Something that was key for me to understand was how you emphasize that narcissistic parents/people thrive on keeping people in a state of confusion. All these years I have been giving the benefit of the doubt, thinking the problem was me, and making excuse for my NM, when really the reason things weren’t adding up and didn’t make sense was because they were lies. It’s funny how we can see these qualities in people that are not in our inner circle, but struggle to see reality in our parents. I am so grateful for the peace and validation that your work has given me. I’m sorry that you had to go through all that you have experienced, however I’m so thankful for how you have given so many of us a voice because of what you have been through. Your work matters. Thank you.

    A Much Needed Poscast
From the get-go, I really appreciated that you clarify the cluster B personality traits. It was so eye-opening when you said, “Toxic parents will quit parenting as soon as they can.” The clarity that one statement brought is life-changing. I also just never put two and two together, or realized that my mother was using guilt in so many different forms from suicide threats, death and dying talk, to bringing up things from the past, always making me feel less than because of child hood transgressions and continually bad-nothing everyone in my life. It took me 56 years and I’ve been no contact for over two years. I finally drew the line when she became a toxic, great grandparent, and started badmouthing my daughters . It’s never too late to heal.

Dr Sherrie is unique and awesome
Dr. Sherrie is an expert in dysfunctional family. She has opened my eyes about toxic family members. She is not breaking any family apart. She cannot break what has been already broken. She just explained well what we have lived during our childhood. She also encourages us to heal and to continue moving forward in order to build a better version of ourselves. Thank you Dr. Sherrie ❤️
  • Liz11692
Love it but $4.99 is unreasonable
If Sherry actually uploaded biweekly and if the episodes were of substantial length, paying would be worth it. However, we are lucky if Sherry puts up a single 20 minute long episode every other month…and of that length only 15 minutes is spent on topic. It feels like Sherry just wants the money :/ sad

    A MUST FOR ALL
Dr. Sherrie Campbell is must for all: those who have experienced any type of dysfunctional families and those who haven’t (so they know how to support those who have!) and finally start to shift of this silent epidemic. Dr Sherrie has this beautiful, articulate way that validates, supports, and empowers survivors to have our voice back. She has an extremely meaningful approach to breaking down each relationship and bringing awareness that will completely shift your perspective. This podcast educates and gives you the tools to understand these personalities, how to self protect, and come to radical acceptance. She gives you the permission to finally start healing the relationship with yourself and the damage to your confidence, self worth, and self esteem as a result of there relationships so you can thrive with true joy, peace, harmony, and abundance like every single person deserves. I am so grateful to Dr Sherrie for her survival, courage, and turning her pain into purpose. She is paving this path for other survivors. It’s not just a podcast — she’s created a movement and a community. I am so grateful her resources have changed everything for me and put me on a path of redemption.

Yet another “mental health professional” promoting estrangement
We do not need yet another “mental health professional” encouraging further erosion of the family structure. There are other solutions besides cutting ties and labeling everything that’s difficult as toxic.

    Excellent podcast!
Dr. Campbell is the smartest, wisest, most articulate, relatable, educated and informed expert on toxic family that I’ve come across yet. I credit her and several others for saving my life. I’ve read both books twice in the past month and listen to the podcasts over and over. The only way forward is to be kind to myself, heal myself and live MY best life. Dr. Campbell has helped me untangle an awful knotted mess and feel more confident and happier than I ever have. Thank you so much, Sherrie. ❤️

Exactly what I was needing & looking for
I’m struggling right now with some huge life changing issues with my toxic family. For reference- both parents are terminally ill…so imagine those medical issues as well as inheritance discussions have come up… I feel myself being sucked back into them and realizing that the “change” was not actually change. I had cut ties for 5 years and when I cautiously re-opened that door 2 years ago… I was remaining hopeful they had truly changed in all these years. But, I soon realized recently that it was always there. I’m now being made to feel like I’m a bad person for not simply uprooting my entire life and family to go be their caretakers. Sherapy sessions has helped me navigate things day by day. I have never cried so much because i NEEDED this. You will not regret subscribing to this podcast. She has been my lifesaver- quite literally. Subscribe and start listening!

    Powerful Podcast
Listening to Dr Sherrie is like a dose of medicine. It’s like you are telling the bones of my life story. When I left home at 18 I was headspun, emotionally confused and numb for almost 50 years. I didn’t have a name for for it until I read your books over two years ago. I was Headspun!!! Got that word from you. Every time start to feel guilty for not going home all I have to do is listen to this podcast and then I immediately know that cutting off my ties with family is not only right, but is the best decision I’ve ever made. You saved my life and a few months later Paul Colainni from the Overwhelmed Brain changed my life forever. Because of the two of you for the first time I feel worthy and strong. Never thought I’d see the day!!! THANK You So much!!!!!!
