Seeker2077Off Label BenefitsIs it bad that this turned out to be a great trauma and addiction recovery podcast for me? The hosts’ recollections and discussions with fellow artists are sometimes very funny, sometimes unexpectedly moving, and usually relatable and insightful about development, relationships and creativity. (I’m only up to Aug 2022, but the interviews with Terri Nunn and Kevin Haskins are standout in this aspect so far.) Grateful to Lol and Budgie for the vulnerability and humor they brought to this project, and I hope to hear more from them, wherever that goes.

Cure and Siouxsie FanMore guests from your timeSuch a wonderful "fly on the wall" perspective of two of my favorite bands. I just wish they had more guests from around their time not contemporary artists (Justin excluded). No one who loves Budgie and Lol cares about LCD sound system, in fact they generally strongly dislike, if not hate, them.

thrashingtigerThe BestGreat guests & amazing hosts. Love it.
-
DJTomdogNot a nostalgia podcast, but humor and philosophy for now and the futureYes, Lol and Budgie talk to some amazing friends and characters who harken back to their earliest days in music and life but all these people are still creating and producing, today. They also have many guests who they are “meeting” for the first time on the podcast and who are only recently creating music and art. Budgie and Lol’s keen interest in art and life make everything interesting and often very humorous!

Norn CutsonFabulous stories from Old FriendsI didn’t know about the podcast, found it via Miki Berenyi! I love that Budgie & Lol give us a proper back-&-forth conversation, not a standard question/answer interview! I love following the tangents, and hearing the human stories behind the music. Budgie & Lol’s warmth - which might be surprising for some people - helps their guests open up with a candid vulnerability they wouldn’t allow themselves in other venues. I appreciate this podcast; their creativity was what inspired the best things about me. Thank you!

Daren JamesGreat interviews and guestWhat I love most about this show is the interesting guests they have on. The guys seen to have a connection with everyone they interview and it really shows. Lots of fun stories you wouldn’t hear anywhere else.

Jess MinterWonderful!I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon Curious Creatures! Who knew Lol and Budgie could could be so interesting! Ha! It certainly helps that I’m a huge Cure and Siouxsie/Creatures fan BUT wow! I’m addicted! Both Lol and Budgie are so entertaining! And of course, I love to hear about the stories with their former bands. Great podcast all around! Wonderful!
-
TelefunkyLovecastI started listening to Curious Creatures to hear Cure and Banshees stories I hadn’t heard before, but in a very short period of time I realized this show is about so much more. It’s about dreams, betrayal, heartbreak, self-reflection and renewal. This Podcast is as cathartic as it is informative. 5 stars.

Watchmen StudiosFantasticJust an amazing podcast. Fascinating hearing about the behind the scenes stories of the music that means so much.

KrusherBassLove itI found this podcast and binged the entire library. I grew up listening to the Ramones and UK Punk, the Pistols and Clash etc and transitioned in to the post punk and beyond. I love the stores and interviews on this podcast and am fan of Budgie and Lol’s bands, thank you for finding a new way to entertain me!

YourMomIsAlwaysRightA true gemI am absolutely awestruck by this new pod, so grateful I finally found it. As a teenager in the mid-80’s I love hearing from those who performed the sounds of my youth. Looking back is always fun, but even more so when you aren’t so full of teen angst and can listen to the stories told in a raw and blissfully entertaining way. As much as I loved punk in my youth, adult me finally understands why. Keep them coming!
-
JennimayI Heart BudgieLifelong pals and post punk icons Budgie & Lol reminisce and have occasional guests from the alt-rock scenes. As an admirer of Budgie’s various projects spanning numerous genres, I am looking forward to hearing his experiences in the different scenes. Lol and Budgie have a great rapport and makes for an easy listen.

ScaryCreatureMy Dreams Came TrueAs a angst teen, the Cure, the Creatures and Siouxsie and the Banshees just spoke to me. I felt like a stalker wanting to know everything about them, and simply idolized these bands. Now with Lol and Budgie with this amazing podcast, I feel like I’m in their personal sewing circle, listening to all the gossip and stories that I only dreamed of as a teen. I’m addicted.
-
shadownliteYes.My enjoyment from this podcast is huge. It speaks to my teen/early 20s years as a goth/punk kid. It gets the nostalgia going. Adore it.

Mike Ness’s Guitar PickPeek A Boo This Podcast Is For You!Break out your old goth lunchbox! It’s on. Lol Tolhurst from The Cure and Budgie from Siousxsie & The Banchees. I was an 80’s/90’s goth. This is perfect. Love the first episode. Both Lol and Budgie make a great team. They really compliment each other. Even if you didn’t own a trench coat with Siousxie painted on it or had Robert Smith hair, you will still love this podcast. Expect great topics, honest conversations and Guests. Can’t wait to hear more shows.
