nicccccknnnammeQuestion re labor standards! This is a great podcast with some stellar guests, I really appreciate it being offered. I just listened to the David Bronner episode on the Regenerative Organic Certified program and the intro said how it was a similar program to ROP, except that it is lead by farmers. I thought, “hm that’s funny, I thought one significant difference was that ROP did not include fair labor practices”. So I looked at the ROP website and standards and apparently there IS a labor section… But I don’t see anything online or about the inspection process that actually addresses labor… What’s the deal exactly? I would love to learn more about how the ROP verifies their labor standards. Or if they don’t, why market the program as such? It’s reasonable for the program to just be concerned with soil health and animal welfare. The worst that can happen though, in my opinion, is to contribute to “greenwashing” of fair labor practices (!).

TJ68238383773The best podcast on agriculture todayThe Real Organic Project podcast has great guests and provide insightful information on the organic movement in agriculture today. They support one another and have a great message. It has helped shape how I shop for food and made me meet a farmer (and visit a farm) for the first time. This podcast also makes me hungry!

Flybynight84definitely food for thoughtStuart Hill Drew a metaphor between the unpaid unsung constant work of women to all of the work that is constantly going on in the soil that is likewise unseen and unsung and pretty much unknown. There is good reason for the existence of the phrase “Mother Earth.” Great podcasts!💙🌏🌏🌏

River Root FarmReal Organic CertifiedOur farm is Real Organic certified and we are proud to be a part of this wholly authentic organization and movement. We’re spending lots of time in the greenhouse listening to these absolutely incredible podcasts discussing food and agriculture! In fact today we listened to 7 episodes and we hope to have listened to them all be the end of the week...they are that good!

Linley DixonGreat speaker line up!What an awesome speaker lineup. Great questions to so many real farmers and leaders.

vermontskiesReal OrganicThe best series you will find about our food and farming by a national movement of farmers who are fighting for the organic certification to mean really organic and not some deceptive, cheap, nutrition lacking food from giant agribusiness. Dave Chapman's style, the interviewer, is quiet calm and thoughtful and each featured person is teaching vital information about our soil and water, how to feed everyone with a different agri economic system, BIPOC farming revival, humane animal conditions and about food that actually tastes good and gives our bodies the micronutrients we need. This is a farmer revolution for all of us!

BillH123listenerVery informed, experienced, engaged and articulate people having important and interesting discussions about real organic and sustainable farming and its impact on our health, our soils, our communities and global climate change.

So many great interviews with so many brillaint minds covering everything from soil science to politics to climate change to racial justice. Wow!

CldmrInteresting and engaging interviewsI truly hope you give this podcast a listen. The interviews are excellent and the information is priceless. I am a supporter of Real Organic and though bringing integrity back to the USDA organic seal may not be something we can achieve, if more people become aware of what is really going on and really possible I hope things will continue to change for the better. I also appreciate that Real Organic is giving me a resource to find the producers growing the food I want to buy. When it becomes possible I would really love to know where I can buy some of Dan Barber’s oats!

JennyGrowsStellar Guests, Great InterviewsThis is fascinating stuff - I listened to the first seven episodes over the past few days and all were excellent. The idea of fraud in our market sectors is hardly new, but when it comes to food (and agriculture and climate), no human should accept what’s happening here. Feeling very grateful for the Real Organic farms near me!
-
LarkneeThis is just the listening I was hoping for!Thank you for putting out such great content!
