    Excellent for beginners
I consider myself to be a pre-intermediate Spanish speaker and listening to this podcast gives me confidence in my Spanish. She has a clear and commanding voice and selects interesting topics to discuss. I can tell she loves teaching!!

    Really good!
This podcast has helped me soooo much in my journey of learning Spanish. Thank you so much!!

Among the very best podcasts for learning Spanish
The slow and clear delivery allows learning. The repetition at normal pace develops our ear. The transcripts r a massive boon.

    Awesome!!!
This podcast is totally awesome to use for comprehensive input. If you want to supercharge your learning print out the transcripts and read along as you listen. I have learned tons of new vocabulary from this show! Thank You Marta❤️😀👍

    It’s good but…
Pros: Honestly I like the podcast. I like Marta. I like the stories she tells. I like the fact that the first time it’s slower with a few basic translations and the second time through it’s at a more natural pace. Brilliant idea. Con: I started from the first episode and have Been listening in order and I must say that by episode 160 there’s too much English. The ads are English, the instructions are English the little messages here and there like “follow on social media” or “leave us a voice message” are all in English. Coming from Dreaming Spanish I was hoping for a mostly Spanish experience… if not all. All the English is starting to annoy me honestly. I’ll put up with it tho cause as you can see my pros far outweigh my cons… but it’s just my truth and I wanted to share it.

    Excellent podcast for Spanish learners!
This podcast has helped my listening comprehension immensely! Marta speaks very clearly, and the format of the podcast works great for learning. Speaking a transcript slowly first with a few vocabulary translations, and then repeating it at normal speed has really helped me with picking up new vocabulary and understanding Spanish grammar structure. ¡Gracias Marta!

The best podcast for learning Spanish
I’ve done a lot of language courses and this is a nice complement to them! Marta keeps it interesting and moves at just the right pace. Contextual learning fans will enjoy

    Agenda Comes Through
I like Chill Spanish Listening better. He is easier to listen to and he doesn’t have an agenda. There have been serval episodes of this podcast that push the leftist agenda, so I don’t feel comfortable sharing it with with students.

    Best Comprehensible input for beginners
Most podcast aren’t very comprehensible for beginners and you end up getting lost. Thanks to Cuéntame I’m able to get uh more input daily than before.

Great podcast for beginner or intermediate listeners
The Dreaming Spanish community recommends Cuentame for beginning listeners. It’s a great recommendation for people who are learning Spanish via Comprehensible Input (CI) because it allows you to get your hours of listening in without having to watch a video. I’m able to easily get in 1-2 hours of day listening to podcasts now after about ~100 hours of video. So it’s working great so far! Thank you Marta! My only little nitpick is I wish there wasn’t any English at all, and all the words were just explained in context with Spanish. But that’s a minor nitpick. I plan on signing up for the OPTIONAL monthly fee just to support Marta and her continued production of the podcast.

    Great podcast to learn Spanish
This is an awesome podcast! I use this and dreaming Spanish each day for an hour. I appreciate the slow and then normal speed. Definitely recommend!

One of the best beginner-friendly Spanish podcasts!
It can be hard to find beginner level Spanish comprehensible input that’s also interesting, so I was very happy to find ¡Cuéntame!. She talks about a variety of topics so I'm learning lots of new vocabulary. The production quality is great and she provides free transcripts! I also like how there are 2 parts - In the first part she speaks slowly and sprinkles in a tiny bit of English to help make it understandable, and then in the second part she repeats it at a normal speed. The episodes are short enough that I can listen whenever I have a few minutes to spare. I'm currently working my way through every episode.

    Amazing podcast!
This podcast is amazing, it’s perfect for upper beginners to intermediate learners. I just started listening a few days ago and I love it! It’s so comprehensible and entertaining. It’s also the perfect length if you don’t have a ton of time. This also makes it easy to listen to multiple episodes. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone wanting to improve their listening comprehension :)

So helpful for my language learning
I’ve just begun learning Spanish with comprehensible input the past few months. This is my absolute favorite podcast for my current level. I love how clear the words are spoken and how well Marta’s personality comes through with each episode. Thank you so much for the effort you put into this podcast. It’s helped me immensely!

    This one is just right!
This is the first podcast I have found which isn’t just too advanced or too easy. I know a little Spanish already so starting with “hola” and “adios” is so boring, and the other podcasts are too difficult for me to follow what anyone is saying. She even provides the transcripts so I can follow along the text with my eyes, which is sure to aid in comprehension and retention of vocabulary. Muchas gracias por una podcast that’s “just right.” Natalie

    Bravo
Very well done podcast. Very helpful. The host speaks a little too slowly at first (at least for me), but she is so clear and her Spanish geared towards beginners. She reads it again the second time which is a better version. Still, overall, this is a great learning tool and she is a terrific and interesting host. Her personality is also very engaging.

Just what i was looking for!
Thanks to Marta! I'm a beginner, and want to learn via comprehensible input. What i've found so far have either been far too easy or far too difficult, this podcast is the perfect balance-everything is so clear and the occasional hints in English keep me on track. The topics are interesting, and the stories short so it's easy to listen to. Really excellent all around-the first episode where i could understand basically everything (w/o knowing the intracies of the grammar) was such a good feeling

    Best ever!
I am back to say that I’ve figured out how to learn even more from Marta. Cuéntame is a great show for beginners and intermediates because of all the support. The first year I listened, I just enjoyed understanding it all. If I didn’t catch a word, it usually didn’t matter, because the slow part was so comprehensible. If I was really concerned, I could look up the transcript. But I didn’t usually do that. Instead, I just listened on my drive to and from work. The shows are short, so I started lining them up to play “next,” as many as 15 at a time. I realized that I could replay a show and understand it better the second or third time. And now that I have become serious about “getting” the Spanish, I listen, then read the transcript, and after that I play the same podcast several times so that I can say the story along with Marta. This practice has made it possible for me to understand how a lot of the grammar works (without ever studying the grammar) and many phases have come into my speech without my realizing that they were in my head. I love this podcast! It’s dependably interesting and different, reporting true human issues, and showing vulnerability that is rare in any podcast, much less a language learning one. Thank you for everything, Marta!

    Highly, highly recommend Cuéntame!!
Cuéntame is an outstanding resource for Spanish learners. As a novice-high independent adult learner, I am thoroughly enjoying and fully comprehending these short podcasts. Marta speaks on a range of interesting topics so each time I listen, I am engaged with new ideas and new language. She speaks slowly, which is perfect for my level, but it always feels natural. If you want to acquire Spanish and already have a little background, this should be the first show to put in your podcast library. ¡Muchísimas gracias Marta!

    A model to follow
This is a wonderful podcast for student and teacher alike and an invaluable resource for language learning. Marta does an amazing job of making Spanish clear and comprehensible! As a fellow language podcast maker, I am going to strive to make something similar for my own language.

A superior resource for Spanish teachers and students alike!
One of the keys to successfully acquiring a new language is finding resources that are at or a little above your level of comprehension so you can scaffold your way to higher levels of comprehension. Marta is providing an EXCELLENT and much needed resource for those in the novice-high/intermediate range… something that will really help to bolster their comprehension/aural processing speed AND help to wire language into their brains. For Spanish teachers, this is an ideal resource to incorporate into their curriculum to complement compatible units, and to model for students a valuable resource that they can seek out on their own to continue their way along the path to proficiency beyond the classroom. As a non-native Spanish teacher myself with relatively high proficiency, I have so enjoyed listening to Marta’s episodes and have learned a lot of great terms and phrases that I wasn’t as familiar with before. I love everything about this podcast. ¡¡Mil gracias, Marta!!
