joealexalejWhy did this turn into a BRO hangout ?!?Guys you should make a new podcast if your going to just hang out. Piggybacking on Jakes amazing podcast and not focusing on coral talk is wrong.

Erin050212A welcome changeWhosever idea it was to recast the voice intro from the whiney/nasally dude to the confident professional sounding woman……. Thank you🤌🏻

Danimal SoupPerfect reefing therapyThis podcast got me through many long car lines picking up kids from school. The episodes where Jake went full reef need and you could physically feel his excitement are my favorite! He will be missed even by folks like me who only listened for a short time before his passing.

robdr854A reefer among reefers. An amazing podcast. Jake is a legend and I will deeply miss his expertise and way of communicating our hobby and science to others. This podcast got me through many a rough NYC commute and took me back to some of my favorite memories of reefing at a younger age. Jake, you will be greatly missed. Swim in peace.

xyznerPassionWhether you disagree or agree with the hosts on the topics, the passion for the hobby is undeniable.

BioTacticzOverall good show but can improveI like the show for content and sometimes as background noise. I think Jake and Mark have a great friendship and I love hearing them talk about whatever it is. However, I think Jake needs to allow his guests (whether it’s Mark or Than) to finish their thoughts. I get that Jake knows a lot but his opinion isn’t the only one…

Steve YoshiLots of information and things to think aboutGreat podcast! Jake and Mark both have lot of experience in reef keeping. Their discussions are excellent because they come at the hobby from different perspectives - one is an industry professional and the other is a regular person who fits in reef keeping with his family and job.

Park's GoneWho Needs Therapy?Reef therapy is borderline my favorite podcast! Jake & Mark’s conversations about reef aquariums have been life giving and scratched an itch I have had for a long time. Among the most professional aquarium podcasts, with a high quality of production and content- you won’t find any “filler episodes.” Jake and Mark, please keep up the good work!!!

amuttiLike sports radio for the reef enthusiasts (and they listen to the Trevor’s)I’ve added a star because Jake addressed my concerns and has been nicer to Mark and let him have opinions without dismissing them. He can still come off as a know it all, but he does know a lot and probably can’t help it. If you’re looking for some back and forth conversation, tips, tricks, and opinions about reefkeeping, this is one to try! Keep improving and thank you for the content.

Instagram: the_c0leEverything wrong with the hobbyI listened to about 8 episodes, so many hours of these two talking. I enjoyed the first couple episodes but here is the issue. There are two dudes talking, one of them talks SUPER fast, constantly interrupts the other, and makes it clear that he thinks he has got everything figured out and knows everything there is to know about reef keeping. He’s constantly trying to sound smart and uses only scientific names. He also actively criticized any hobbyist that doesn’t things differently than he does. Constantly saying stuff like “you’re an idiot if you acclimate corals” and “no reef tank should have sand”. Just an annoying dude who is self absorbed. Plus on one episode he is trying to convince the audience why we shouldn’t aquaculture fish and should keep taking from the wild, straight up advocating the position that wild caught fish do better in aquariums than captive bred (which is so so wrong). Go listen to BRS podcast if you want a more organized/relaxed podcast, and also a more informed podcast. Also, no hate to the other more laid back guy on this podcast, he seems to be more humble and also has awesome perspectives, he should start his own podcast, I would listen for sure!

Ed RizzoVery therapeutic!I put my noise canceling headphones on, get you guys playing and do my aquarium maintenance every weekend!

biologypaulGreat time!Love this podcast! It’s the best for insight and aquarium knowledge for salt, reef, and some brackish systems. It’s a good show!
-
Rambl3onI really enjoy this reef tank talk!I really enjoy most of the discussions on this podcast… but at times they get very crotchey about their way if reefing is the only way to properly keep a reef. Jake also seems to take credit for every little innovation or slight new thing anyone has done in the hobby.
-
blasttI enjoy the showI enjoy the show but sometimes I feel Jake is arrogant and condescending.
-
Slash_DTUDGreat information!I look forward to these every week. Very informative and great topics. I love how there is a mix of biology and science in with the normal hobby lingo. It’s always good to hear how other reefers are doing things and what’s going on in the industry. Keep them coming!

BrandDaMandoLet Mark TalkWhile I've listened to all the episodes, I really struggle to actually enjoy the show. Jake Adams' insistence on forcing the control and flow of the conversation creates a very uncomfortable and unnatural experience. If Mark says anything that gets off topic, gives too much away from an upcoming point, or just strays ever so slightly outside the intended focus of the episode topic, he gets cut off and corrected. It's extremely controlling and very cringe worthy. It's equivalent to going to dinner with a couple where the husband keeps shutting down the wife because she's speaking out of line (or vice versa). I get that there's a topic, and it's good to stay focused, but it isn't natural and it isn't conversational. I'm listening to this podcast to hear a discussion, and I don't care if the conversation gets a little off topic or ahead of itself. That's much better than listening to an exercise of dominance and submission in every episode. And I must point out that I also feel that there's just so much arrogance in Jake's opinions, stances on subjects, and his experience. I love that people get to have their own opinion, and it's ok if I don't agree with it. But I feel as though many of the opinions expressed in the show come from a place of putting down those that have a difference in how they go about things that he doesn't like, such as controllers, feeding all frozen, or sandbeds. You may be asking why I even listen. I do enjoy the content, experience and points of view. But I just don't like the domineering and arrogance.

5eahawk12PodcastLove the podcast format. Keep it up.
-
KC9MHQGood showI like your down-to-earth approach to things. Not requiring the most expensive of everything at all times, using logic instead of my checking account to manage my new aquarium is important to me! I do wish I could contact with questions about some things. Keep up the good work!
-
NatKingReefHi GuysI Love the podcast, I appreciate all the great information but, one of you guys keep cutting the other off during the conversation. Just need a balance in that area, but besides that Love it!!!

shsvbdnfnsTruly TherapyIt's such a pleasant format for discussing current reefing hot topics and learning the history of the hobby, plus a decent dose of marine science snuck in. It's just terrific listening, and the reparte between Jake and Marc is at the heart of it.

Music and Song ManThe Duo-I really like this. I’m a long time reefbuilders consumer. This podcast is that conversation that I think has been missing. Honestly, sometimes it feels like Jake thinks he’s the only one who knows how to keep a reef BUT I think it’s just his passion shining through. This tone went from annoying to endearing and makes me want to engage! It would be great if there was a voice message or email comment opportunity. I might open up opportunity for more content. I don’t want this to dry up too quickly… Anyway Jake and Marc are the voices of reason in the hobby for so many people who are sick of the name game, blue light, saturated, hype coral trend that has really taken hold. Marc seems to be a very open minded cohost who seems to be way more of a free spirited reef keeper than he actually realizes.
-
Mbazzy8Lots of reef goodness hereThese two have great reefing experience and ideas. While Jake may be the more well known personality, I really enjoy listening to Mark’s insights on the topics. These two put forth some ideas that challenge the conventional wisdom and you may not agree with everything they say, but there is plenty to enjoy here.
