Podcast + Youtube Video Goldmine for 1st Year Homeschooler
As a first time homeschooler, I’ve used so many tips and tricks from listening to Arial and Matthew. I appreciate how they include lots of technology-focused short cuts and honest curriculum reviews. Topics are so relatable as a parent and humble home educator/toddler wrangler myself. Thanks y’all from Atlanta, GA!

    Gem of a Podcast
Hands down my favorite homeschooling podcast! I have recommended this gem to several friends who are considering homeschooling or who are new to it. The hosts are warm, encouraging, and down to earth. I found the podcast while planning an “Around the World” themed year for my second grader. I have also thoroughly enjoyed their episodes on traveling with your homeschool and their first-year homeschooler interview series. The curriculum reviews are awesome too. An added bonus: the “lifestyle” content they post (exercise, meal planning, organization) is helpful and SO relatable. If you are a homeschooler, give this one a listen.

    Relevant and informative!
I love this podcast. It has great information and resources. The episodes are entertaining and informative.

    Modern, secular, joyful, generous
I love the refreshing take the hosts have on the homeschool journey. The recent episode, about why they chose homeschooling, would be perfect for interested families to hear. When I started homeschooling my first, now an adult, people were choosing secular homeschooling for many of the same reasons that the hosts lay out- but in my local groups now, I’m seeing so many choose homeschooling out of fear and last resort- it’s changing the local climate a little bit for people looking for groups, co-ops, etc. I feel like Matt and Arial are bringing the joy and intention back and I hope new listeners find their optimistic and family centered outlook as contagious as I do! Currently, Arial and Matt focus on the primary ages, but there’s still content here even for the most veteran secular homeschooler with elementary kids still at home. They offer resources beyond their podcast that I am eager to dig into more as my last child reaches preschool age.

    Invaluable podcast for new homeschoolers!
I found this podcast (and the youtube channel) a couple months ago and have been binging the content ever since. As a new homeschooler the podcast is full of such great information, tips, and curriculum recommendations. Arial and Matthew have eased so many of my fears and made the overwhelming task of starting to homeschool so much easier. I'd absolutely recommend this podcast to any homeschooler - new or veteran.

    AMAZING PODCAST
I could go on and on about how much I love this podcast! I am a new homeschooling mom to a prek kid and after joining every Facebook group possible, including the Homeschool Together Podcast one, I was overwhelmed but thinking I had a grip on what I was doing. In December 2023 I bought Blossom and Root and attempted to start but only made it a week before heading back to work from maternity leave. Fast forward to June and I saw a post from the group and was like oh I didn’t even realize this was one of the groups I joined, so o started on episode 1 from back in 2020 and I have been listening to this podcast non stop since then! Arial and Matt are just awesome. The content/topics, the time and research they put in to each episode, the short bites, the interviews, seriously just amazing! It truly resonates with me and my family because I work full time and my husband works part time at night to be able to stay at home with our children, we are secular and are using the same curriculum! I am obsessed with Trello and even brought it into work for my team to use! I am consistently learning new things and getting inspired daily on how to be a better homeschooling partner! I also think their voices are so calming haha! My 10 month old instantly stop fussing in the car when I turn this on haha! Seriously I could keep gushing about this podcast. If you’re new to homeschooling this is an absolute must listen!!

    Detailed, truly helpful advice
I recently found this podcast while looking for ideas on how to combine BYl and B& R prehistory curricula. Not only did I find one truly awesome resource, I found multiple within this podcast. Plus, Ariel responded to my email very quickly to share her spreadsheet that breaks down what they did for combining the two curricula. Beyond what I was looking for on combining those two specific unit studies, I also found many more extremely helpful podcasts that cover a few other levels of BYL I have been debating on using with me kids. This was the jackpot of podcasts for my questions.

Excellent relatable homeschool family! Listen in to follow their journey!
If you are a homeschool family or considering homeschooling, Ariel and Matt’s podcast is a must listen! Since deciding to homeschool, I have been binging their podcast archives and these two are an absolute delight. Along with their excellent advice, curriculum suggestions and shared experiences, the lighthearted marital banter between these two is so relatable! Riding alongside their homeschool journey is wonderful as I can glean their lessons learned before I embark on the same path. There episodes range from “Should I Homeschool?” all the way to the nitty gritty of specific weeks of curriculum. Add a few episodes to your queue, you won’t be disappointed!!

Warm, insightful, and amazingly helpful - a secular homeschooler’s wish come true
I discovered this podcast during a random search and I’m so glad I did! Ariel and Matt are very thoughtful in the material they discuss in each episode. They do the research and go above and beyond to provide quality resources and ideas for homeschoolers. While I prep for our upcoming school year with a 4th grader and preschooler, I have been having a blast listening to both of them discuss everything from their recommendations on media to using Kanban to plan to meal planning and self-care. I’ll definitely be listening every week. Thank you for your wonderful podcast! It’s just what the secular homeschool community needs!

    The best homeschool podcast
I will be forever grateful to the Reddit commenter that suggested this podcast. It’s been like finding another member of your homeschooling tribe and I have spent the last couple months bingeing episodes whenever I can. Thank you for your around the world resource guides. They have greatly enriched our study and definitely helped make it less daunting for me to teach. As a homeschooling mom (also located in western Washington) I have found the information that Matt & Ariel share to be invaluable.

    Love this podcast
I’m honest not a podcast person but I’ve listened to almost every episode of Homeschool Together. They have helped me feel so much more confident in educating my children.

    I wanted to like this
It seemed interesting at first but how many times can you say “we’re engineers” in this podcast? Apparently, a lot. I think they don’t realize many people can raise critical thinkers without being engineers. It’s not a prerequisite to homeschooling

    Tipped the scale
I am a momma of two littles (1.5 and 2.5) living in rural Wyoming. Had been curious about homeschooling but frustrated by the overwhelming amount of religiously focused content. A few episodes in I was hooked. 100% committed to homeschooling moving forward and have listened to absolutely every episode. These podcasters have a wealth of knowledge, and each episode is OF interest. Also super cute couple, who seem to actually like each other! Ha! Love this show and hope they keep it up for all of the years. We’re following along!

    Undecided homeschooler
This podcast has been super helpful in helping me decide whether homeschooling is right for my family. I like that the hosts sometimes get a little silly, but never for long! They are to the point! They stay on topic! Thank you so much for all of your insight!

    My Favorite Podcast
This podcast has been my favorite for the past 3 years (this review is way overdue). As a former elementary school teacher this podcast allows me to engage in and learn about an education sphere that I look forward to implementing in my home one day (I need kids to homeschool first 😅). Matt and Ariel are a quick-witted couple and one of the main reasons I tune in to every episode is to hear how they support each other and plan life together. Great podcast, great parenting, great relationship building, and great advice! Thanks Matt and Ariel!

Solid, relatable information for secular homeschoolers
Thank you so much Arial and Matthew for keeping me company while I do chores and drive my kids to activities, I feel like I have friends here chatting with me about every homeschoolers favorite topic - homeschooling their kids. The fact that this is a secular podcast and the information is so thorough and relevant and easily digestible is just a bonus. Love this podcast, love hearing about what you all are doing in your homeschool. Here’s the review you’ve asked me for 200 times since I started listening 😁

    Love this podcast!
It’s so nice to find such a solid, secular podcast. I’m impressed by how technically and factually you guys break things down, and truly make things seem quite doable. I’m just starting homeschooling, with a four year old and one year old, so I feel like the beginning of this podcast was made for me! Thank you both for all the resources (and yes, I’m now on Trello 😜)

    BEST homeschool podcast
When I made the big decision to homeschool my young kids, I listened to quite a few podcasts on the market. They were great, but all from seasoned homeschoolers that already have kids graduated, graduating, and in college. When I came across THIS homeschool podcast, I just knew that THESE were my people. Matt and Ariel are so incredibly relatable, fun, and funny. They really bring their passion and joy of what they do for their young daughters to inspire you. This is now the ONLY podcast I ever listen to and recommend to friends wanting to embark on this crazy homeschool journey. And I love, love, love that it is more tailored to a family with elementary age learners (but not exclusive to young learners). It’s definitely a podcast that grows with you as a homeschooling family. Matt, keep up the amazing dad jokes, and Ariel, I have never been able to relate to anyone so much with all of the planning you do. I love it all! Thank you both for all of your hard work!

    Thanks for reducing my anxiety!!
I’ve been listening for a while and, even though my kids are older, I’ve been able to apply what I’ve learned on this podcast for our 5th, 7th, and 11th graders. My husband and I attended public school and were both in gifted programs, so you can understand that our anxiety re: homeschooling was off the charts (especially since two of our kiddos are also GT/Honors). We are only six months into our homeschooling journey, and we are continuing to chip away at our preconceived ideas on how school *should* be. This podcast has reduced our anxiety and has greatly helped us as we rethink school for our family. I cannot thank you guys enough.

    My Favorite Podcast
There are two things I absolutely cannot homeschool without: the Homeschool Together podcast and coffee (the order would depend on the time of day). This podcast is, by far, my favorite resource for homeschooling. Many of the podcasts I have come across are mainly filled with interviews that are essentially advertisements for homeschool-related products, and I find myself having to pick and choose specific episodes that might be useful. Homeschool Together is different. Arial and Matt offer advice, give reviews, and talk about real issues that have directly related to my homeschool plans. Seriously, their curriculum reviews and resources are so helpful! The topics are so spot on that I’ve found myself thinking, “Oh, that one won’t apply to me,” and then months later, searching for that same episode because it’s exactly the topic I want to know about. Also, I love the dynamic between Arial and Matt. My husband and I share our homeschool responsibilities so it’s helpful to hear Matt’s perspective as a homeschool dad. As an obsessive planner and book/game addict, Arial’s advice is like that of a trusted friend. Seriously, if you are homeschooling or thinking of homeschooling, listen to this podcast. It will inspire you. It will encourage you. It will entertain you. What more can you ask from a podcast?

    A new-to-homeschool must-have!
I absolutely love this podcast! We’re starting to homeschool very soon and I’ve been consuming so many homeschool videos, blogs, podcasts, you name it and Matt + Ariel are hands down my favorite resource I’ve come upon! Their YouTube channel, website and this podcast are such a wealth of information for those new to homeschooling who are starting from the very beginning. Whenever I’m cleaning or doing whatever, I throw this podcast into my typical rotation of true crime podcasts and I feel so ready to start homeschooling. I also love love love the secular aspect of their content! I’m finding that pretty hard to come by in the homeschool world and something I need to actively seek out, which is fine, but I’m very glad to have found them! They really go above and beyond with their research and present things in a fun, engaging way for ME; their homeschoolers are lucky to have them as their teachers!

Exactly what I’ve been searching for!
I’m just beginning to learn about the world of homeschooling as an option for my 2.5 year old. I listened to some of the newest episodes and have now gone back to the beginning to listen to episodes when their kids were younger for some more age appropriate content. This is giving me so many great ideas, and the confidence to seriously consider homeschool even though my husband and I work full time. I also love the tips on topics like organization and the newest episodes on travel. Thanks so much, please keep it coming!!

    The Best Homeschool Podcast
I love this podcast. The hosts are so real and entertaining, and also informative. I’ve often felt other homeschool podcast hosts are obnoxious and pretentious (sorry!) but these guys are so down to earth their episodes are soo helpful.

    My gurus!
Can’t tell you how happy I am to have found y’all! I definitely felt lost when I first considered homeschooling my kiddos last year. But Homeschool Together has really helped me gain confidence in my ability to educate my little ones! It’s very encouraging see their eyes light up when they learn something new! The recommendations and reviews are super helpful. I also appreciate taking a look at self care this month since I’ve had my own health issues. Furthermore, I’ve shared what I’ve learned with other friends and now they are encouraged to try homeschooling too! Thank you!

    New homeschooler
I’ve just begun venturing into homeschooling with my almost 4 year old and this podcast has been so amazing. Just a wealth of information for everything I have questions about. I love all the curriculum reviews and the stories from experienced homeschoolers. I feel like I’ve finally found a community to relate to living somewhere that not many people are homeschoolers near me. Thank you for the entertaining and informative podcast keep up the amazing work !!

The BEST most informative homeschool podcast!
Matt & Ariel are not only hilarious, relatable, & easy to listen to but they are also so helpful & go above and beyond to make sure their listeners can learn with them & from them & their journey. I found this podcast a few months ago & have quickly made my way through many of the episodes- I listen any chance I get! I have also watched their YouTube videos - if you haven’t yet- check them out! Seriously, so helpful! They have saved me so much time and energy from choosing curriculum to planning our around the world study- I would have been lost & exhausted without this podcast. Thank you both so much for all that you do! The links in the show notes are amazing each and every time & make it so easy to listen and enjoy and then go back and print things off, buy new games, make Amazon lists, ect.

    Best homeschool podcast!
Someone commented on the homeschool subreddit that they loved this podcast for early years homeschooling and it got so many upvotes that I just had to check it out. I’m so glad I did! I have never written a review for anything before, but this has been so informative that I just had too. I’ve even gone to the YouTube channel mentioned and watched every episode in the around the world kindergarten journey. Thank you so much for all the hard work you have done putting this out there!

    Great Podcast for Prospective
I am so happy to have found this podcast as a prospective homeschool parent! It has been so beneficial when comparing curriculums and considering how to approach homeschooling for the very first time. It is well researched and features fantastic interviews of various families’ homeschooling journeys. I particularly was drawn to this podcast because of its focus on early learners, secular homeschooling, and game schooling. I feel like I have a great takeaway from every single episode and love recommending this one to homeschool families I know!

So glad I found this podcast
It can be difficult to find well-rounded, well-researched secular homeschool information, so when this podcast was recommended in a FB group, I was skeptical. I almost didn’t listen to it because it said it focused on younger learners and mine are a bit older (7/9/11) but I’m so glad I did because it’s been incredibly helpful even though their kids are younger. Keep up the great work guys!

    So thankful for this podcast!
I cannot begin to explain how much this podcast has helped me as a novice homeschooling parent of three young kids. Their curriculum reviews, interviews with curriculum creators, and book reviews have been so useful. Their associated Facebook group is also a wealth of information where I have found a wonderful community in which to discuss everything homeschool related. I’m very thankful for all the work Matt and Ariel have put into this podcast! I recommend it to all homeschooling parents who have young kiddos.

Thoughtful and engaging conversations on gameschooling and more
Matt and Arial have a very professional and engaging platform for chatting about homeschooling and parenting on this podcast. There’s also a heavy emphasis on gameschooling which certainly appeals to us a lot. I particularly enjoy their flexibility and willingness to explore different philosophies - as you can see in their interviews full of interesting conversations and thoughtful, sincere questions. But most importantly they also have an engaging and entertaining rapport with each other. Any parents or teachers or homeschoolers interested in education and raising kids will enjoy these conversations.

    Useful homeschooling podcast
It’s our second year homeschooling and so far this has been the most useful podcast I’ve found. Discussions center around common struggles, curriculum and game reviews, organization, styles of schooling, interviews with other homeschooling parents, balancing life, and so forth. As they state, focused on early learners, but that is perfect for us with a 7 yo. Thank you for creating this, Buza family.
  • Sunshyne49
    Sound homeschool advice
Loving your podcast! We are into our second year of homeschooling and I am still feeling clumsy and unsure of our footing. Listening to your podcast has been a lot of fun and even though my learner is past the “early” stages, I have been able to get a lot of good advice and confidence from your episodes. We deal with physical and mental health issues, so I find that shorter sessions more similar to an early learner allow us to achieve more success in the long run. Having a family, career and homeschooling is exhausting so I appreciate your time taken to produce these episodes.
