So many mech, so little time
The Origins of BattleMechs podcast is everything I ever wanted as a longtime fan of BattleTech and someone who’s obsessed with the rich lore behind these towering war machines. Every episode feels like it was made just for me the deep dives into the history, development, and battlefield evolution of ‘Mechs are informative, immersive, and full of passion. What I love most is how the hosts manage to strike the perfect balance between storytelling and analysis. Whether they’re covering iconic chassis like the Marauder or overlooked gems from the Succession Wars, they bring the technical specs and in-universe history to life in a way that makes you want to dig out your TROs and re-read them cover to cover. This show isn’t just about stats and dates — it’s about what BattleMechs mean to the factions, to their pilots, and to the centuries-long saga of the Inner Sphere. It’s thoughtful, well-researched, and clearly crafted by people who love BattleTech as much as I do. If you’re a MechWarrior at heart or just curious about the legends behind the steel titans of the battlefield this podcast is essential listening. Bravo to the creators. I can’t wait for the next drop.

    Great show
I miss the mechs. not a huge fan of the armor and aero episodes… but the season 1 stuff is phenomenal however!

    Great Podcast
Great show for anyone who wants to dive into the deep end of battletech lore. The cast covers the subject in depth and in an easy to listen way. It’s like hanging out with friends at the store. I’d like the sound to be a little louder (I have to max out my radio while driving), but great show regardless.

    Too much inner sphere
You guys are missing like half the setting. Incomplete.

Enjoying the show more with the novel talk and the deep dives on topics outside of mechs
The only thing really keeping this from being a 5 star review is the sound effects to avoid the explicit tag. Either accept the tag, or learn to keep the explicit language out so the effects aren’t needed. Addendum: Foundation analysis should have its own separate feed.

    Fantastic, only slight issues
Those being: 1st) I’d really appreciate if you guys would record louder. Even at max volume, my earbuds can barely play you over the ambient sounds around my job (retail, not terribly loud) 2nd) I assumed that this was going in the order of appearance, but, if so, they’ve completely skipped over my favorite mech! This is mostly a joke, I know they’ll get to my precious King Crab, someday. All the same, fantastic show, full of solid official info, and interesting opinions from the hosts and their expertise. I will absolutely change my review to 5 stars if they fix the volume issue.

Came for the mechs, stayed for the history
I enjoy the combination of history and game meta when discussing the mechs. My favorite section added in later early episodes was the data dive on equipment, factions and eras.

    Top tier battletech talk
I hardly leave reviews but these guys are really good at research and discussion. If you’re an older fan or new this is worth a listen

    Awesome!
Been waiting for more podcasts and y’all sound like you’ve nailed the niche! (A current easy comparison for a powered actuator is the wing actuators used in Naval aircraft, and others, to fold and/or rotate the wings.) Looking forward to more shows! Don’t burnout by going too fast!
