Nuclear annihilation is the ultimate threat to life on this planet. Everyone must actively support ICAN to eliminate all nucs. Til they’re all gone, nobody is safe.

Highly recommend this podcast, especially to those who doubt the grave danger presented by the man currently sitting in the Oval Office. Lisa Perry has a beautiful voice and she manages to sound both smart and curious about this very sobering and important topic.

I have read 32 books, viewed 34 movies/videos, read dozens of scientific articles, and attended several conferences on subjects addressed in this podcast. I learned about this podcast from an elder activist during a nuclear protest march in NYC last year. I find this series to be the most valuable of all the media that I have been exposed to. It is clear, well-organized, expertly produced and consistent with what I’ve been learning from other resources. Anyone looking to me for suggestions on where to start their education on nuclear weapon threats will be directed to this podcast. Thank you so much for putting together this jewel.

I completely agree with the premise of the podcast, which is the extreme danger of nuclear weapons. Although the show can present great insights to both the horrors of nuclear warfare, as well as the challenges to nuclear disarmament, way too much of the show is spent on highlighting Perry’s work. From highlighting his legacy to an unbalanced view of all Republican legislation, Perry’s granddaughter does not do the topic justice. I understand that the narrative is biased having been a relic from the Clinton presidency. And justifiably, actions by certain Republican lawmakers haven’t helped. However the podcast refuses to evaluate antagonistic players on the world stage. The discussion of North Korea is extremely disingenuous, and there’s no mention of India or Pakistan. Lisa Perry would’ve been much better as a biographer of William Perry, instead of posing a podcast on serious discussions of nuclear warfare, or nuclear weapons escalation.

Thank you for doing this. Please keep it up, especially the focus on the technical, institutional, and psychological underpinnings of how nuclear war could happen by “mistake”. I think one of the main reasons we as a society are less afraid of nuclear war than we should be is that we cling to the belief that nuclear weapons are at all times securely under the control of human decision makers possessing full information. We need to collectively disabuse ourselves of this belief.

While I understand that the podcast is strongly against nuclear weapons, there is no voice for the opposite argument (only one sentence per episode, and is read by the narrator as to having someone with that position present their argument).

This is the best podcast I’ve ever heard confirming undeniably how moronic Homo sapiens and the human race are…absolutely amazing content! Thank you!

Even as someone who works in this field and is familiar with many of the concepts discussed, I learn something from every episode. So grateful for the Perrys’ efforts in this fight and inspired to help where I can!

This podcast is phenomenally done - engaging, understandable, compelling, and such a crucially important issue for every 21st century citizen to be educated on. In order to prevent impending disaster for our world, we all have an obligation to educate ourselves on the realities of nuclear weapons and nuclear policy - not just their history but their very real present implications for our future safety. This podcast is an excellent means of doing so. I have been listening with rapt attention as each new episode is released and will do my part to share the information with as many people who will listen. The time is now to take action, before it’s too late.

On the 75th anniversary of when the United States dropped the world’s first atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, killing some 140,000 people we must support those trying to make sure this never happens again. Even a small nuclear exchange would, though climate disruption, destroy most life on Earth including humans.

As a worker in the national laboratories dealing with these things, I think this podcast is a paramount public service.

A most pressing subject. I’m old enough to remember my father’s helpless panic during the Cuban Missile Crisis. To accept that this peril continues to be maintained in our names, for our best interests is absurd and pathological. Thankfully we get to hear about a genuine patriot and public servant, William Perry, Secretary of Defense under Clinton, among other stellar human beings who have and are continuing to keep the mushroom clouds sequestered under the nosecones. This extremely well produced podcast brings to light an existential threat which like the instruments of destruction themselves lies buried in our psyches. These life changing episodes, presented with fervent earnestness by Perry’s granddaughter Lisa, should be required listening for all people, everywhere. Thanks to all who work to rid us of this self imposed menace. Tune in, you’ll be astonished.
