I am so excited to listen to this podcast! Alicia Garza says it like it is. Very few people have the guts like she does. That she is based in the Bay Area is icing on the cake since that is where I am from and live now. I had to start with the Davy D and his knowledge dropping. Looking forward to hearing more recent episodes.

It will never be the time for socialism if so many people take DNC dollars to push us to vote against our interests. I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR DEMS UNTIL THEY STOP LYING FOR VOTES! So disappointing. Biden has failed us wildly on hundreds of issues. A vote for him is a vote against our interests. So disappointing.

She has a way of making guests comfortable, most recently evident in the episode where she makes AYD giggle talking about sewing during pandemic. From soup to nuts, politics to cooking practices. Awesome episode, the first one I selected because of Tiffany D. Cross, I will listen to many, many more. Right about at 9 minutes before the conclusion, behavior changes as apology are needed frequently. We need micro transformations to build up skills in ending the micro aggressions that me and my White People do out of conditioning. This lady don’t take no micro against me without creative comment for apology or correction. And, this lady don’t take no delay in self-transformation when I have micro-ed another. This podcast calls us to actions that add up to change that has regard and respect now.

It’s a balm and an inspiration. And it’s very entertaining!

Love, LOVE this podcast! Alicia is such a wonderful host: she’s welcoming to both the audience and the guests and does a great job of asking questions, both deep and light ones. She also gives her guests time to speak and explain themselves, unlike other hosts; and interjects her views at the end, which I appreciate. And the theme song is a banger!!!

I’m grateful for the conversation and insights Alicia and her guests share on this podcast. The only reason I didn’t rate this podcast five stars is because of Alicia’s repeated “jokes” about STIs and STDs. Especially given this show’s commitment to elevating consciousness and awareness, those comments are disappointingly tone deaf.

7/23/21 - update to my original review. I have to say that I would appreciate more of the guest interview. Sometimes it feels like Alicia and the guest are just getting deep and she ends the episode to talk about whatever her summary of the week is. To be honest, I could do without that summary. It often doesn’t feel relevant and perhaps could be left for the YouTube channel 🤷🏽‍♀️. More guest conversation please! This is one of the best podcasts for real talk around social justice and centering the centering the voices of Black people and other people of color. Some of my favorite episodes: Mia Birdsong, Angelica Ross, D’Wayne Wiggins and W. Kamau Bell.

Alicia Garza brings integrity, depth, humor, and vision to her conversations with other leaders and her analysis of current events. By listening to this podcast I am both more inspired and better equipped to stand-up and act towards creating a better world. It’s hard work to confront our existing oppressive systems, and create beautiful and empowering communities, art, and institutions to make a better world. It’s meant so much to me to hear directly from people who are doing that work with such power and grace. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and Lady Don’t Take No is my favorite. I never miss an episode.

I really love this podcast -- the theme song alone is worth listening to. Alicia Garza is a powerhouse, smart and funny, empathetic, incisive, and on point. I rely on her weekly rundown to catch stories I'm not picking up elsewhere. I love that she addresses the podcast to other Black and Brown folks, I feel lucky to get to listen in as a white person. Unlike many podcasts that drag on and on, LDTN gets to the point and leaves me wanting more.

This was a WONDERFUL episode. It was analytical and holistic, and made all the sense in the world. Lady did a fantastic job this week, even more than usual. Come through!

I LOVE this pod. Sitting each week listening to Alicia Garza is one of my favorites. She is an excellent interviewer, highlighting the brilliance of her guests while building connections between ideas for listeners. She’s so G-D smart. AND funny!! As much as I learn and reflect I also cackle while listening to Lady Don’t Take No! This pod is maybe one of the only good things “live and direct from Ms. Rona”.

This is one of my favorite podcasts. The guests and Alicia’s thoughtful questions make me look forward to each new show. I loved the interviews with Dr. Connie Wun, Morning Star Gali, and W. Mondale Robinson. Actually, all the interviews are great. The weekly roundup is so good. Hearing your discussions makes me understand that real change starts locally!
