Like A New Day - A Leica Photography Podcast

33

Talking photography and all fine arts, and Leica from a fan’s perspective, this show is all about finding our creative selves in a world full of modern distractions. I am an independent photographer focused on documentary and environmental images. Based in Michigan, I have over 20 years of experience making photographs with digital and analog media. I am a former urban planner and current conservation nonprofit director, and I understand the power of images and art on community. This podcast is my own, and is not affiliated in any official way with Leica Camera.

    Unpretentious and sharp photo conversation
I’m currently moving through all the episodes and really enjoying the content. I shoot Leica film and share some of Zach’s other passions. I especially like the idea of grassroots/local Leica grants- fantastic!

    Great, thoughtful discussions
Really enjoyed discovering your podcast. Thanks for the detailed interviews going deep on Leica and all things photography, especially the process. I just bought an M10-D with a 28 mm 2.8, currently waiting for it to arrive from the Leica Boston store, so was very interested to hear your interview with David Bickley. Look forward to more episodes — John

Why is photography about politics now?
If you want to go political and slam Donald Trump then do a political podcast.

    Excellent!
I caught the Leica virus in 2015 and have since shared an appreciation for these tools. I’m another average Joe had to sell a kidney and work a little extra just to purchase my first Leica. Thank you for your podcast keep them coming!

The World Needs More Leica Podcasts Like This!
I usually shoot on a Canon EOS R but I’ve recently started shooting film over the last few months after I found a Yashica TL Electro X at a country thrift store. I have been going down the rabbit hole of film podcasts and especially Leica content and there aren’t too many podcasts out there specifically talking about Leica! I like the way Zachary talks about photography, he truly has a passion for it and he ties in how we can use photography as an outlet to help with depression, anxiety, etc. I haven’t heard much from the photo community about those topics. I also like how he talks about Leica and what the brand means to him; cameras are tools, but there are certain brands we identify with and there is something to the kind of tool you enjoy using that makes you want to go out and use it. I hope to have a Leica M6 one day, if Zachary does start a fund or program to help people get a Leica camera I’d love to sign up!! Lol. This is a great podcast man, keep em coming!

So few Leica podcasts, so happy to find this!
Found this podcast in April 2020, just before going into stay-at-home. Binged the whole backlog in a day, then it look like it had gone dark. So happy to see a new episode, and to hear the host has plans to keep going!

    Professional, Comprehensive, Listenable and Likeable
Great speaking voice, well organized thoughts, and I look forward to the next podcast. Being a Leica/Nikon/Fujifilm shooter myself, I understand the need for more than one system because any of these alone struggle to do all of the various jobs that are presented to us as photographers.
