Officially started my third, yes THIRD relisten of show. Josh and Tanner are incredibly funny, and each season only gets better. Can’t wait to see what comes now that they’ve finished Scarlet and Violet. 100% worth a listen or three.

I started with season 4 (platinum playthrough) and enjoyed the first episode. Shortly into the second episode I learned this isn’t for me. They have a segment that sexualizes Pokémon. I just want to listen to a playthrough without hearing about sexualized Lopunny fan art. I also wish it felt more like I was playing along with them. Instead, they play a portion of the game and discuss what they did. Not as good as I thought.

I usually listen to books on audible but I have built up three months of credits because I have been listening to this podcast. They have a great chemistry together and even the guest who show up have a great chemistry with the two co hosts. Finishing up black and white now, playing through ultra moon as they make their way toward it. Thank you guys for the good times!

I got back into Pokémon after a years long break and stumbled upon this podcast a couple of years ago. It’s been truly refreshing to listen to a pair of like-minded individuals journey through one of my favorite franchises. I look forward to each new season and have even re-listened to a couple of old ones during replays of those gens after buying the original hardware (thanks for causing the rise in prices on old games!). Tuesdays are a highlight of my week. Thanks for all the hard work!

Been listening to these guys (gym by gym, week by week) since the pandemic, and nothing makes me happier as a Pokémon fan than to hear their interesting and new perspectives on the games. Keep it up guys!

Enjoyable show that makes fun of the absurdity that is some Pokémon.

Each week brings me a nostalgia high that I’ve become hooked on and can no longer live without. The music is top notch and the commentary could not be beat including all of the segments. I wish I could wipe my memory and restart this show but alas I’ve been caught up for a while. If anything ever happened to Tanner or Josh or this show I don’t know what I would do. Haha.

Josh and Tanner find the fun beyond just nostalgia in their play through the history of the Pokémon video game series. Their creative trainer and team builds and non sequiters into the lurid underbelly of the franchise are hilarious and engaging as they play through these classics week by week, gym by gym. It’s a blast to listen and remember the games you love, and to play along week by week. I look forward to every new episode drop and each chance to be smelled again when later comes.

If you don’t mind constantly being reminded that having conservative values makes you a bad person this is alright. Ones a gay married man. The other is a traditionally married man who is seemingly still in the closet. Episodes range from mediocre to extremely dull. Low hanging fruit sex jokes. Ludicrous pronunciation that probably make most fans scream. Constant reminders that they are indeed woke and sex positive. Your usual liberal pandering to inflate their own egos because nothing says I’m a good person like virtue signaling. Their guests only consist of like minded conservative bashing leftists. If you’re looking for some variety in guests you should look somewhere else. Tdlr; this the definitive woke virtue signaling Pokémon play through podcast.

This show is well worth starting from Season 1. It's consistently funny and accessible for longtime fans, casuals, and newcomers alike. It gets a bit stale a few seasons in, but they've actually rectified this in the most recent seasons (they're on 7 at the time of writing) by switching up the format in small but effective ways. These guys truly give a hoot about the quality of their program and it shows in the sound design and the effort they put into keeping it fresh. You don't get that from most fandom podcasts and that's why I've stuck around for 4 years.

I started listening to exp share because I’m hosting a series of my own on Red/Blue and boy did I not expect to love it so much! Both Tanner and Josh crack me up (and I love cracking up) and I really love their back and forth. Helps that they seem like good like minded people. Love their relationship to Pokémon and especially appreciate their personal approach to the podcast.

The fur affinity schtick has has long worn out its welcome as of the Gen 7 season of this show. Like yeah, there’s weird, bizarre, and uncomfortable art out there, but it just feels like outdated mid-2000s “lol furries” humor at this point. I get that there’s not always enough to talk about during an episode, but I end up putting the fur affinity segments on 2x speed with how forced they feel. I still like hearing hearing their reactions to each generation they play through and I admire the characters they make for each game, but this one segment in particular just drags it down for me.

I’ve been listening for the last 3 years or so, and these guys feel like my best friends. Always an easy and enjoyable listen. Hope you guys plan another in-person event in Brooklyn!

People complain that the Pokémon games are aimed at children. And guess what, they are! But this podcast? It’s for the adults who want to relive their favorite games. Also, boy oh boy emphasis on the adult side.

This is the Pokémon podcast I never knew I needed. As a 33-year-old dude who grew up playing these games and re-discovered the joy of the franchise again as an adult, this podcast is the perfect companion to my mature Pokémon fandom.

I usually listen to podcasts that are more educational on science and arts topics - I didn’t know podcasts could be so fun! I have been listening in my every spare moment for days! I love this podcast, and Tanner and Josh are great hosts with a wonderful and hilarious dynamic. My middle school Pokémon phase is back in full swing, and Exp. Share has a new dedicated fan!

I found this podcast as I myself am playing through Pokémon Saphire on the GBA. During work, I can relax and listen for an hour/two and enjoy the job. Both guys are very funny and love Pokémon!

Been listening for over a year now and honestly my favorite podcast. I listened at my old job and had to hold back my laughter MANY times. Especially when they sang the songs to their dead Pokémon during nuzlocke. Also ran a marathon and got tired of my music so I put on EXP share. Love the banter between the hosts and the characters they create, never forget Mr. Squirt. I’ve always wanted to run a one type gym but couldn’t commit.

I was introduced to this podcast by a friend, and finally fully caught up right at episode 100. I’ve sadly forgotten which friend told me about it, but I’ve been dying to tell them how much I like it! Great variety despite a singular focus, and great easy listening. Keep em coming! (Word of warning: Let go of how you think any Pokémon’s name should be pronounced. Ha!)

Even though I haven't played a Pokemon game for easily a decade, Josh and Tanner do a great job each week capturing the fun of the games from multiple perspectives.

Listening to two friends play Pokémon together was a great break from all of those many, many things we’ve all wanted to escape from these past couple years. Josh and Tanner have the great on-air chemistry of real friends and are absolutely hysterical. They just came back from a break, and now is a great time to start listening.

So glad this podcast is back! Tanner and Josh have a great dynamic together, and it’s hilarious to hear Josh’s experienced perspectives clash with Tanner’s fresh takes with each game! I can’t recommend this podcast enough! Side note: I may be in the minority, but I quite miss the interstitial episodes between seasons. I loved hearing what both Josh & Tanner had to say on the various franchise spin-offs, and I was sad to hear that they were unpopular with the rest of the fan base.

You know those podcasts that you listen to as soon as a new episode drops, even if you’re in the middle of another podcast’s episode? No? Then you’re not listening to Exp Share! This podcast is such a delight, I’m so glad they’re back to regular postings since I binged the heck out of the past seasons after discovering it this summer. It’s the perfect amount of nostalgia and humor. It made me go dig up my old gameboy and start a new game of Pokémon Gold. I haven’t played in years, so I’m liking the chance to learn about the new gens and new ‘mon. Especially since I have a small bug catcher of my own starting to get into Pokémon and I need to know which trainer dangers and ew Barf Pokémon to steer him away from! A podcast this fun and well done, but still with lots of adult humor is like a Rare Candy.

I love the banter between Tanner and Josh! Long time Pokémon fan, enjoying the playthroughs these guys are doing! Currently on the end of Ruby/Saphire and looking forward to catching up to the newer seasons. If you like Pokémon and the games this is a must listen!!

This is my favorite podcast! Josh and Tanner are pros with great chemistry. The interesting segments, funny moments, and Pokémon analysis keep me coming back each week. I love that Tanner is semi-discovering (or rediscovering) these Pokémon games as an adult, so we can hear an honest opinion of how strange some aspects of these games really are. 5 stars!

I loved listening to Tanner’s other podcasts The Baby-Sitters Club Club and strange bedfellows, so when I heard he was making a new podcast about Pokémon, I knew I would have to listen. Josh and Tanner are lovely hosts; Tanner’s chaos is balanced by Josh’s cool demeanor and Pokémon savvy. If you have any of the games they play through, they make it easy to play along so you can have a fun commentary accompanying your game play. Their online fans are also very nice!

During the pandemic I decided to play my childhood Pokémon games. I’ve never made it to gen 4 so I decided to stock up on games and try to beat them all. I started listening to this podcast because of Reddit, searching for a Pokémon soul silver question which was answered by a bug catcher. I subscribed, gave the podcast a listen and was instantly hooked. The hosts have great chemistry and share their experience from a more adult perspective which I appreciate because I’m an older Pokémon player (feels weird to say). This podcast is a nice change up to what is going on in the world, the silliness is much needed. Thank you for your work, it is greatly appreciated.
