FourPlay - A Game of Connections

54

Fourplay, hosted by Carmela Smith, is a game show that tests a player's ability to make a connection. Contestants are given four different sets of four words in 2 minute intervals and are challenged to find the connections between the words in each set and then the connection between the sets themselves. Think you have what it takes to be a four time champion? There's only one way to find out. Welcome to FourPlayFourPlay is an Oakes Media Group podcast.

    So much fun but… explain.
I love listening to this podcast! I hear the phrase “between the four” “Between the two” more than that is ‘among’ the three, four etc.

    Missing Gary Middleton
This is a great quiz format and writing the puzzles sounds very difficult. But the rules seem to vary based on the puzzle writers. Gary was the pioneer and wrote his clues almost like crossword puzzle clues. The latest writer makes you do mental gymnastics to make the clues connect (example. Blind science isn’t a phrase but we were supposed to think of Blinded Me With Science as the connection). It’s not as much fun if you don’t trust the writer to stick to the rules.

    Puzzles can be frustrating
My family and I love writing down the clues and figuring out the puzzle before listening. This week our answer seemed to make more sense to us than the official answer. 1) Get,support, street, scratcher - Back 2) finger,Jackson, footlong,Johnny - Five 3) heating, wheelhouse, table, feature - Water 4) bag,March, stop,Franklin - Dime Overall - Drop Drop Back Drop Five (see urban dictionary) Water Drop Drop a Dime

    Tried Again......
.....But Jonathan is too conceited and egotistical for this to be enjoyable at all. I’m done.

Connect the words and then connect them again
This goes beyond regular trivia. It stretches your mind to think of words in many ways. Looking forward to the day I figure out all connections!

    Quickly becoming my favorite
This show is quickly becoming my favorite to play along with. I would love a bonus episode where we can hear Ben, Chris, and Carmela individually, but using the same connections. Winner gets a prize? Bragging rights. Congratulations Carmela.

    Such satisfaction
It is so satisfying when you figure out all of the pieces. But love that you can just have 2 pieces and still get there. Also much love for acting on my suggestion of adding the clues to the episode description. Love it!! Keep up the great work and content.

    Fun Show!
I like the concept for this show. Gets your brain working in a lot of different ways and very satisfying when you’re able to figure out the answer to one of the 5 puzzles in the show. If future episodes are like the first, there are multiple genre entry points, so it’s accessible to a broad audience. Very enjoyable!
