karengrace33Really lovely podcast !!!Just the Zoo of Us has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts! I started listening a few months ago and I am so glad I did. Ellen and Christian are delightful hosts and hearing about the animals always helps me both to access a feeling of wonder about the world we live in and also to care more about the conservation of these incredible species. I loved the podcast so much that I shared it with my sister and we both got emotional about different bird species (her, the albatross and me, the condor). Thank you for making this pod!

Nola P.Inspiring, funny, and brings joy to my heart.I've been an animal nerd all my life and I'm still getting to learn so many new things, whether it's about bats, freshwater sponges, or the squirrels in my backyard! The hosts are wonderful, and it's so cool to hear from the biologists and paleoartists who join the show as well! Each time I listen I find myself appreciating both animals and people even more. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this! I highly recommend this show for anyone who loves animals, and anyone who wants to learn something new or find new appreciation for the amazing and hilariously earnest critters we get to live alongside in this world. Also you'll get new terms stuck in your head like Galumphing and Super Weaner.

Kelly 2007Fun facts, big laughs, pure delightIn a world filled with chaos, Just the Zoo of Us is a bright spot in my day. Every episode is packed with fascinating animal facts that I canāt help but share with friends, family, and coworkers. Itās always a guaranteed mood booster! Ellen and Christianās dynamic is fantastic, their guests are inspiring, and everyoneās love for animals is infectious. Thank you, Ellen, for asking your guests for their pronouns, it makes the show feel truly welcoming. So, in true Just the Zoo of Us fashion: ⢠Ingenuity: 10/10 ā Completely unique and incredibly infectious. I havenāt met another podcast like it. ⢠Effectiveness: 10/10 ā I now spread animal trivia like confetti. ⢠Aesthetics: 10/10 ā Canāt see a podcast, but this one is pure audio gold. Thank you for making the world a little wilderāin the best way!

jtpavšÆThis podcast has changed me and my brain for the better. More than half of the time when someone asks me, āHow do you know that?ā I say, āThe BEST podcast ever, obviously.ā I do often also say I learned it from Fuller House, though. Big fan. Anyway, back to Ellen and Christian, I canāt even BEGIN to imagine what my life had been like if I hadnāt stumbled across this podcast. I use this podcast every single night to fall asleep, and I have tried many other podcasts, but every time I find myself going right back to this soothing yet funny and creative podcast. This podcast is so incredible, and I recommend it one hundred percent! Just for one night, lend an ear to the most charming podcasters, and then you can decide whether or not to go back to watching your favorite family sitcoms every night, like I did. But, I had decided to go to this podcast which helps me fall asleep WAY faster than fake laughing edited into a scene. Definitely subscribe and listen! *Shout-out to episode 181, Jesse Gilbert! Love Tulsa, OK! I visit often, have a lot of family thereā„ļø

Flying sssnekFantastic podcastOne of the best podcasts out there. The hosts are intelligent, respectful of their guests, and make a big effort to include people from diverse backgrounds with wildly different experiences working with animals. I appreciate that we get to know about the guests themselves before we talk about the animals and that Ellen always remembers to ask for pronouns. It's a small but important gesture, especially in our current day.

kfn#oh myGreat podcast but asking pronouns š

EstrangedEmeraldLike a Weighted Blanket for the MindThis podcast is so fun, wholesome, and nerdy, and Iām so here for it! Between getting giddy hearing about my favorite animals and learning cool facts about new favorites with lovely hosts and guests, this show is everything I hoped it would be and more.

JclampBest animal podcast, or maybe just best podcastThis is my all-time favorite! Hands down. The hosts bring a boatload of fun information in such an engaging and joyful way ā it serves to get the listener so excited about nature: to explore the quirks and subtleties of our fellow creatures with a playful sense of wonder and respect. Weāre so lucky to have all these amazing animals alongside us, but even more lucky to have these two lovely hosts describing them to us in such a fun, insightful, and informative way. One thousand out of ten stars.

Listener in the USBest animal podcastReview from Charlie, age 6 and 3/4: āI love this show! Itās the best animal podcast that Iāve heard.ā He also wants you to know that we often listen on car trips, so you can feel like youāre traveling with us. He says if you hadnāt done a dung beetle episode he would have requested one because heās very interested in them!

Everyone in my family thinks itās funny that all that I listen to is your podcast. My favorite episode was the D&D one where Christian when on a quest to find the lava snake. SpaceVinciI Will Not Shut Up About This PodcastThis podcast has made me insufferable in the best way possible, and I have started using it as a defense mechanism. Trying to make a sexist argument? Actually, we're talking about ursine biology now. Awkward questions about my future? I don't think so, it's Yelling About Sharks time baby! Weird political opinions you felt the need to share with a stranger? Boy HOWDY are you about to find out how long I can talk about bugs now. Literally one of my favorite podcasts, cannot recommend enough.

SnuggledInSnow2CRINGE REAPEROnce again, another 12/10 episode with Isaac! Isaac, your excitement for the world around you is so awesome, and your imagination is INCREDIBLE! Canāt wait to hear more about your ecosystem and the Devil mantises! Ellen, thanks for answering everyoneās questions so thoughtfully and creating such a great space for kiddos to learn. Iām going to share this episode with my younger cousins ASAP! Plant submission: not really a plant, but letās get some fungi in there! Maybe the Gram Grubs āfarmā a super cool fungus that Devil mantises try to steal because it confers super powers? š¤©

mythoenthusiastFunny, engaging, knowledge and more! (100/5 stars)Just the Zoo of Us is an amazing podcast held by two amazing people; Ellen and Christian Weatherford. It teaches you about so many animals, to animals as pets, farm animals, forest animals, sea animals, beach animals, jungle animals, mountain animals, canyon animals, cave animals, nocturnal animals and so much more! It mostly focuses on animal species in animal breeds, for example; They talk about Parrots, not Bird Birds (Not including the many species, just Birds). Each episode is around an hour (Iām not doing maths), and sometimes they even bring expert people! I would definitely recommend this podcast to you if you love animals. Itās a great way to keep yourself entertained, and they upload weekly. Also, Ellen, Christian, if you two are reading this, please make an episode about the Box Jellyfish! I heard itās a very deadly Jellyfish species. If you already DID make an episode about Box Jellyfishes⦠You saw nothing. I swear. You donāt have to, though. - Penelope O., Age 10

faenunComforting, fun, exciting, illuminating! This is the podcast I listen to in the middle of the night, when Iām too anxious to sleep. It never fails to soothe and send me off into dreamland. The next day, I go back and listen to the episode in earnest š¤ Ellen and Christian feel like my good friends. They are so positive and clever, and each episode truly warms my heart. Their enthusiasm and curiosity are infectious! They make me excited to go out and explore the world, even when Iām just on my way to my boring job - thank you both for the regular doses of wonder you provide! Reminds me that thereās something special and fascinating to discover about nearly everything and everyone, if you only try to look and understand.

SonomarinaFun Experts Who Love Animals Like I doSo glad to find another gem from Maximum Fun. Each episode is full of interesting facts woven into a few laughs shared by people who have true passion for their work with every kind of animal imaginable

Highly PleasedKnowledge, Warmth, and LaughterI grew up loving animals and this has been a beautiful channel to nourish that love and continue to learn about all animals great and small. This wholesome podcast is thoughtful and hilarious as they navigate rating each animal. In addition to the animal facts, they add little sprinkles of geek culture (which I personally enjoy as PokƩmon fanatic). Thank you for all you do and I look forward to listening to many more episodes.

nnnnnnnnhhhhhuuuuuuWhy are there only 5 stars? You guys are amazing. I donāt know why there are only 5 stars on this app. Me and my brothers listen to you every single night. At school, I love info dumping on fellow students. I recently had a philosophical debate about the giant siphonophore. We asked what really is life, and how many chickens a giant siphonophore may be. Keep doing what you are doing. I think you guys should do blue, fin, humpback, bowhead, pilot and beluga whales. You should also do the dumbo and giant octopus. Thank you!

ScarletmindedMy brand might be a Secretary Bird or Pallasā CatI came here from Creature Feature. I listened to the Hoary Bat episode and I guess my brand is either Secretary Bird or Pallasā Cat. You have me covered with both here. Hopefully you have done a show on Pangolins. Very fun show. Happy to be referred to it. Also, have you ever talked about the Honduras white and yellow bat? Hornbills? Mole rats? Shrews? Dik Diks?

Long commutes to work, loud spaces (with the help of noise canceling headphones), rainy days, and hours of packing.
