That wholesome time of your week
I am not the kind of person that does reviews, I just don’t bother. I’m not even that into podcasts and before this I knew nothing about D

    I love this show!
I watch way too many actual play podcasts 😅 but Trials and Trebs may be my favorite. Something about how happy to be playing together the cast sounds is just so comforting. Whenever a new episode pops up, its always what I want to listen to first

i’ve been listening for over a year now so it’s probably about time i write one of these bad boys. there’s so much i like about this podcast i cant even begin to explain what’s so good about it. but i will anyway, that’s why i’m writing this review. i’ve tried to listen to other play podcasts in the past but they were always difficult for me to get into. t&t had me hooked from the very beginning. i love the magical school setting and there’s a lot of fun characters and npcs. early episodes have a lot of silly shenanigans as the players settle into their characters. i wouldve been content to listen to a show that continues that way, but as the story unfolds the plot becomes much bigger and i have cried actual tears listening to this. there’s drama!! there’s suspense!!! there’s sillies!! sometimes there’s show tunes!! i love this show so much, and you can tell that there is a lot of passion put into it. it’s really a joy to listen to a group of friends having a lot of fun playing d&d together. there are just so many good Bits in this show i cant get enough of it. in terms of how i would rate my weekdays, wednesday would be rated disproportionately higher because that’s when new episodes come out. give this podcast a try, you wont regret it. or maybe you will after bawling your eyes out some hundreds of episodes in. it’s still worth it though also i want to kiss neska

Loving this podcast, very rules-lite and light hearted, very chill vibes, digging it.

    Amazing show!
I’m on episode 65 right now and I love this podcast so much! The stories are great, and so are the characters and cast. I have some criticism though, however, it might’ve already been fixed. I find the early representation of nb characters admirable but missing the mark a little bit. From my memory, there are no humanoid they/thems. The pronouns being saved for gender less creatures instead of species that the concept of gender exist in. I think that could be fixed but it’s a small thing. It’s a great show!

I discovered TnT last August and blew through the archive in 4 months. I have a lot of podcasts I listen to on a weekly basis but TnT has become the one I look forward to the most. It’s just as fresh and funny and surprising as ever, even after 160+ episodes. It’s hard to truly express how much of a gem this show is because it just slaps on so many levels- seriously, thank you for putting your joy and creativity and friendship out in the world. I’m not trying to get parasocial out here but I love each and every one of you.

    One of the Best
I’m not caught up yet, but have been listening nonstop since I found it through Sarah’s YouTube channel. Everything is amazing, from the world to the story and characters, and the party’s chemistry is fantastic. This is one of the best live play podcasts I’ve heard, easily as good as NADDPOD. Anyone unsure of the setting needs to give it a try, you won’t be disappointed in the slightest. Also, give Artus a break, the poor guy needs one.

Amazing podcast, great chemistry, feelings broken
This podcast is just amazing. Luke is a great DM, the way he rolls with his players decisions, the character voices and descriptions and the whole universe he creates is super engaging and makes me crave going back to dming. And the players are just up to par with him; Ben playing the chaotic gnome Winsler with a heart of gold can make you go from laughter to tears in the same scene whenever he gets to his heart to heart moments. Carla captures perfectly why i love tabletop as a hobbie and listening to her growing up along her character and the antics she creates is just amazing. Sarah is all around great, she knows how to create compelling drama with her character, i have literally cried about her arc while listening on my way home back from work, lastly Sam is an amazing player too, you can truly feel how authentic the feelings Serinepht is feeling, how well rounded she, a true person on her own and the great House of Pancakes of the SWIM team. Honestly if you arent listening to these friends play DnD and have fun you’re just doing yourself a disservice. The only thing i regret is that im already almost up to date and i wont be able to binge it for the first time anymore soon. And if you read these words, thanks for your work, guys, you’re the absolute best!

    Fun show, very bingeable
By coincidence, I happened to start listening shortly before getting COVID. It's been a nice light distraction, and great to have something pleasant and generally light to listen to while lying on the couch feeling miserable! Luke is a great DM, the group seems like they have a nice and friendly dynamic, and the characters are very endearing and have kept growing on me the more I've listened! I never really got the appeal of listening to an RPG podcast, but this one's sold me on it.

    Very fun,
Very fun show, Luke is a great DM with interesting story ideas and NPCs, and the players are all fantastic. Consistently funny and dramatic, with intriguing mysteries.

i’m obsessed with this, the banter, the characters, the arcs, they’re all incredible.

great show. beginning episodes don’t necessarily captivate you and it’s difficult to get through, but like with books, movies, podcasts, shows, once you get past that part you’ve hit the breaking point and it’s all GOLD. they’re funny and silly and great actors, they portray their characters so well. Have been binge listening for like two weeks now. Only thing that I think should really be included is specific trigger warnings in the episode description and more NPCs that are actually likeable! But this is an absolutely beautiful podcast

    Love this
At first I recoiled cuz I thought it was too nerdy but now I’m just absorbed into it and am over 80hours in if you are a little nerdy and enjoy imagining. You will love this. It gets better the farther into the show you get. — edit— I’ve been finished with the show since early may it’s amazing everyone in the show is fantastic loving Weenie Hollow and CnC all of the cast is fantastic seriously love the show. If you like Dames and dragons or other similar shows you will love this show. If you finished the first episode and disliked it I urge you to start listening at around episode 14 Cuz it just gets better after the first 3 arcs. Edit edit- please listen to this show. Skip to episode 14 if you want a taste of the rest of the show. If you like it go back and listen to the first 10 episodes. Please one of these reviews said “gave the first 10 a chance and I hated it” just skip those at first. As with many small podcasts, the quality increases as the show goes on. Please listen

Fun and easy to binge through
Every episode makes me laugh, no matter how bad of a mood I'm in before, and whenever I need something to brighten my day this show has easily become one of my top go-tos. Would 100% reccomend

    Very Fun Slice Of Life!
I’ve listened sporadically to this in the past, mostly as background noise but lately I’ve started to go back and relisten a bit more attentively. It’s a great, fun time and the cast has great chemistry together (though I have to admit for the longest time I got Saryniph and Integrity’s voices mixed up). The trickiest bits I’d say are the many characters- if you start in the middle you may lose track and whilst the wiki is helpful sometimes its not enough. I also find episodes a bit hit and miss. Some are amazing fun with a lot of laughs or interesting story beats but others, while not dull, definitely didn’t keep my attention as much even with me listening a bit more closely. Overall a good time, and the highs by far make the occasional lows worth it.

    Very fun podcast
I’ve been playing ttrpgs for 8 years and I love this podcast a lot!! The dm is amazing, he’s very quick witted and he is great with descriptions and voices. I’m on about episode 33. The person who plays Winsler is a great role player, and he comes up with some fun schemes, as well as the person who plays Mira! I’m slowly warming up to Seraph (not sure if spelled correctly) as well. I think my only gripe with it is that I find it extremely frustrating that the person who plays Integrity doesn’t seem to know how to roleplay and never seems to understand what’s going on. But she’s had her own fun moments. I’d give it a 5 star rating if I didn’t find that aspect of the show to be irritating. But overall the group is dynamic and fun.

Yes Nathan that would be enough
These are good people and they make a good show! I enjoy it a lot and I would’ve reviewed sooner but I’m not sure if I’m using an outdated name on this?? Time to find out— Oh cool I pick it in the moment never mind

    Simply the best
I don’t think that it’s possible to find a more wholesome or enjoyable podcast; or one featuring more genuine personalities. Trials And Trebuchets is, hands-down, the last podcast you’ll ever need!

    Great
It’s a real fun listen, but hard to get into I would suggest making a new arc, maybe mix up the dm or something idk I’m not in charge

Got Something Good Here when I’m Writing a Review
Arc 2’s boss fight with the foe’s unique ability is what sold me for this podcast. Then, came Arc 4 and when Arc 10 happened, I can’t stop being so invested in everything. This is my first time being involved with anything to do with DnD, but I know when the mechanics of a medium is being used well. There is no book, movie, or video game that can pull anything like this off. Not only did I like the environment, but I also like how the main players interacted with that environment. And, of course, it’s nice to see that everyone in the podcast is having fun with this. It reminded me of that one time when people in my high school literature class volunteered in reading parts of the play, A Doll House, and everyone was so into their roles that it made an already good plot 100x better. I thought that I was never going experience something like that again but y’all brought it back for me. The only critique I can think of is that words like “humankind” (better than mankind) and “no man’s land” would break my immersion for a bit when this is a world where all sorts of beings exist, but there’s going to be human error at some point lol. Anyway, if someone were to recommend me to another DnD podcast, it better be as good or event better than this one, and y’all set the bar real high.

    💛
There is so much imagination and great fun to have here. More heavily focused on role play, which in my opinion makes combat more enjoyable when clashes do happen, the stakes feel high. There are certain details and characters that can be absurd and very imaginative, which I love; reminiscent of adventure time.

gave it till about the 11th episode, but the gnome’s random accent change really took me out of it. Didn’t care for the random added tall human character that was added.

    Fun, generally a bit quiet!!
I really enjoy the show so far, but it is so much quieter than most of my music or even other podcasts! I may be a bit hard of hearing but even at full tilt some of the cast’s voices are too quiet to listen. I’m only at episode 64 as of right now, so hopefully it gets better!

    Probs my favorite podcast
I’ve been listening for a long time but this is the first time I’ve caught up. This group is so funny, talented at keeping the story engaging and overall constantly entertaining. I know nothing about D
  • slauthor
    loving it so far
I’m not caught up yet but this show has both the main thing i look for in fiction podcasts (laidback fantasy adventures) and the main thing i look for in nonfiction podcasts (an endearing cast who consistently cracks each other up) so it’s easily my favorite actual play podcast already
  • Tazamac
DM frustration was never so fun
The best is when you can tell Luke is at wits end corralling the team. Everyone plays well off each other

    Very fun, good audio
I recently finished catching up on TAZ and was interested in another creative D&D. By chance, I discovered this podcast through Sarah Z’s channel on YouTube. Definitely worth listening so far, lovely players and characters alike.
  • GabesCheshire
A truly delightful podcast, lots of fun
Of all the D&D podcasts I’ve listened to, this is my favorite. The setting of a magic school is fun and leads to so much hijinks. The DM is very good at world building, coming up with memorable NPCs, and telling the story. The players have all crafted memorable and well rounded characters. The podcast is equal parts funny, cute, sad and thrilling. I can’t recommend this enough. Give it a listen.

I’m using this to fill the Harry Potter shaped hole in my heart
  • True_Center
    Great writing
The main plot is almost always present but not in a way that puts a ton of pressure on the players which I really appreciate. There’s a lot of time to pursue other ideas but if the main stuff ever slows down there are always little details peppered in to keep the momentum. I really like all the character interactions and think that this is a great campaign! Please be nice to Kharla.

    Perfect
Hilarious and immersive, this pod offers the perfect escape from the craziness going on in the year of our doom 2020. I’m glad I found this, I hope others enjoy it as much as I do.

The humor is there and story is great. It's a fun romp through a magic school with tea sipping golems, extraplanner travel, and mystery.

    Fun!
I'm hesitant to try new D&D podcasts but this one is super enjoyable. All of the characters are great (and the in and out of character banter is consistently funny) and the story's interesting. I'm excited to see where the podcast goes from here!
  • CerseiDidNothingWrong
Highly entertaining and easy to follow.
Listening to these guys play DnD is great. The banter between the characters is hilarious and the dungeon master keeps the game going and engaging to listen to.

    Very Fun Characters
Immediately upon listening I realized how the voices of the characters were easy to realize and also very expressive! I love these characters already and can’t wait to keep following their journey!

    Parry Hotter
A cute little romp within a magical school. It has just started, so there’s no world shaking cataclysm... yet. But there’s a promise of a larger story to come. The only complaint I have is that the DM is very lenient with failing rolls. Sometimes hard failure leads to the best results.
