    Truth is spoken here
I have been in an emotionally abusive marriage for 25 years. Just a few years ago I heard about emotional abuse and was finally able to make sense of what was going on in my marriage. It’s like a light bulb went off. I had been living in a Twilight Zone episode. Fast forward years, counselors, research, 50+ books, podcasts etc… but there’s no one, in my opinion, who gets it like Dr Clarke. Not hours of reading, counseling and continuation of the madness. A clear understanding and plan… in EVERY situation. I have only recently found him and have emailed with him, ordered his books and am listening through every podcast. I felt stuck even after all I’ve done. Now I have a plan! Thank you Dr Clarke!

I feel such relief while listening
My pastors counseled and gaslit me so hard. I ended up leaving and letting my evil covert narc husband stay there. He’s in leadership and I was going crazy. I joined Flying Free with Natalie Hoffman and found out about David Clarke while in the program and wow. I feel so empowered and I know I’m not crazy. I can move on and be free and I now completely understand what was going on in those bizarre marriage counseling sessions!!!

    Thank you
You are really helping me right now. I listen to you on repeat for strength. I can’t tell you what all your videos mean to me. Just thank you so much.

    Truthful and Biblical
Finally I found someone who understands emotional abuse! I’ve been dealing with (what I suspect) is a covert narcissistic husband for a decade. Everything is my fault while he plays the victim, and uses the religious card to point out my flaws (while he plays the victim). Glad I found this podcast so I can stop second guessing myself!!

Great show but first try empowered wife
Excellent show and love listening to this guy. So biblical and direct. His book I dont want a divorce is great even if you work it one sided. However any man will feel super disrespected by his advice and it will make things worse. Please try the empowered wife podcast, book and program first so you can have surely done what you can do to understand and work with men. Also check out what works with men and learn about men. Women we are missing it big here. Men with trauma attract women with some trauma so get understanding of your triggers and heal too so you can walk away completely clean. Much love and hope for turning things around.

    Excellent and Biblical!
Wish I’d known about Dr. Clark before I stayed with a controlling, disrespectful, financially & emotionally abusive and lying spouse for 33 years. I was basically his financial backup for his reckless spending. He told me ā€œ I don’t love you anymoreā€ yet I still stayed for waaaay too long. Be sure & follow Dr. Clark’s regarding finding a strong divorce attorney & know your rights. I didn’t, to my regret.

    Thank you!
Thank you for helping me to recognize the patterns of sinful behavior I was tolerating and the lies I was believing!

    Courage
Thank you for courage. I still didn’t want the divorce but each podcast helps confirm what I know is true. Kick self doubt out the door. I’m scared but I want to be free and walk in God’s best for me.

    Filled with TRUTH
Dr. Clarke is a tell it like it is kind of guy and I’m here for it! Love his biblical approach on how to handle abuse and move your life forward. Such a much needed advocate for anyone in abuse.

    Truth!
He is blunt, no holds barred. But right. I find myself nodding my head, saying ā€œyes!ā€. He confirms what I have already learned. So glad he is a Christian, too, because I have been told that what I listen to is ā€œunwholesome, lies of the devilā€. Only because it has given me the education and confirmation I needed to leave! I still hear a lot of the ā€œit’s not abuse. He’s so devastated.ā€ And you (from the outside) know this how?? YOU live it, listen, learn, seek, grow, and wake up (before you would rather die)…then tell me it’s not abuse! Thank you for your information, truth, guidance, honesty, passion, hope.

    Deceptive
This is terrible. A wolf hiding in Sheeps clothing offering advice that multiplies Fear. Dishonesty. Deception. Stealing and hiding instead of the true Christian message of love and reconciliation. Turn this off.

    The real deal
Even though I previously bought one of his books many years ago, I re-discovered Dr. Clarke through this podcast when I was looking for resources for Christians who are going through marital issues. Dr. Clarke has been an amazing resource and I highly recommend this material to all Christians who are married and who work with couples.

    Years of wallowing
I found Dr Clarke because I was searching for help for my youngest son as he walked away from his family. After a year or so of trying to deal with this in my heart & mind, I realize I have not really resolved my own issues from my 2 divorces. I’ve ordered Dr Clarke’s book ā€œI Didn’t Want A Divorceā€ so I can work through the forgiveness of my spouses and then other painful things that hindered my life since childhood. My next review will be what happens after I ā€œdo the workā€.

Needed this! Helpful insights, clear guidance.
Thank you for being a light during my darkest time, I remember hearing you speak about marriage on focus on the family in the past and really enjoy your sense of humor and straight talk. So when my husband unexpectedly left our house and family saying he wants separation etc. and I found out he was having an emotional affair maybe more, I looked you up needing help to sort through my scrambled brain, shattered life and heart. Question for you, what if the marriage problem is part of both situations you address? Some of help I ruined my marriage in the beginning years of marriage by my insecurities and hurt from my child hood and parents divorce, placing all that on my husband causing wounds. In more recent years the other side, he doesn’t love me anymore and wants out of the marriage, being critical, distant, seeking affirmation from other women, no compliments or time with me, says he/ we tried everything- Christian counseling, marriage church weekends, there’s no Christian band iAd to fix this. It’s not one sided so what resources of yours are for this mess and which plan do I follow? I’ve bought some of your amazing books but need guidance, I would love to do some sessions with you and wish both of us could, not sure he’s willing and if we can afford it.

    Offers biblical tough love
Dr. Clarke played an integral role in helping me get out of an abusive marriage. His biblical, tough love approach is greatly needed in today’s evangelical church culture, which tends to minimize major sin in marriage. My children and I will be benefiting from Dr. Clarke’s ministry and advice for years to come.

    Saved my life!
Brother Clarke has saved me from an abusive man. I had little to no resemblance of who I was anymore & I have finally left. I read the enough is enough book and listen to his podcasts. It’s tough content nothing wonderful about it but it is the only way to get your life and health back. I have tried the ā€œotherā€ Christian ways and Dr. Clarke’s strategy is the only one with results. Saving up for an individual intensive. God is good!

    Follow his plan
No matter how hard it is follow his plan, do not wonder away from the righteous road, pray and be strong. You will be tempted. Pray and give yourself time to process any temptation you may have prior to stepping back in the muck.

Wise Christian Counsel and Entertaining too
I enjoy Dr. Clarke’s humor and his sound Christian advice on marriage. I find his style, sense of humor, and delivery of message very entertaining. He lights the difficult subjects just enough to make them palatable and keep your attention. Everything is Biblically based and he always gives charter and verse support. By listening to his pod cast and Focus on the Family interviews I’ve not only gained insight to understanding how my wife ticks but a much better understanding of myself. This has opened my eyes to some of the areas I needed to work on that I hadn't realized were issue before. The Lord has truly blessed Dr. Clarke with wisdom and insight.

This is so practical!! I love it!
I started hearing Dr. Clarke on In the Market with Janet Parshall. I wish I had found this information 25 years ago when we were first wed... it would have made the last 25 years less bumpy. Thank you for the small, digestible and applicable advise for married couples. I’ll apply what I’ve learned to continue growing and cementing our marriage with your advise and by the grace of God.

    Very Helpful!
He is very helpful! And he tells it like it is!! Not the way we want it. He will help you fix what’s wrong if it’s fixable. I hope it is for you. He’ll give you hope if it’s not fixable. He explains things in a very understandable way!

    Great honest advice
If you see Dave in person, hear him on the radio, on a podcast or read one of his books and you get mad enough to slam some doors...stop! Take a breather and ask yourself why are you so ticked off? Dave’s advice to you may be one of the few times in your life someone is bold and honest enough to shed light on you. Be warned. If you continue to slam doors and walk away, sad and bad things may happen. Healthy relationships = work and patience. Listen to Dave even if you don’t feel like it.
