Great topic but so much dead-end convos
I just wish Stephen kept things on topic. The other guy keeps sidetracking things and then everything goes silent and Stephen goes “yeah…” or “nice…” They clearly have done a lot of research but my God, the digressions! Kinda my pet peeve with a lot of movie podcasts. They all think they’re jokes are really funny but that’s not what I come here for.

    The guests sometimes…
“You know when something isn’t misogynist but feels like it is?” Imagine going through life with that kind of attitude. Must be exhausting.

    My Favorite Podcast!
I love this podcast. As a big movie nerd and cinephile, I adore these examinations of unmade movies and the thorough research into the convoluted evolution of productions that either never got made or became the version that did. Hosts Josh Miller and Stephen Scarlata are very charismatic and fun and they bring a lot of humor and insight into whatever they talk about. They also frequently have fun and interesting guests to talk about these movies! So check it out and give them a follow on social media!

I’m a big Blank Check podcast person but I recently found this and it’s amazing. Love the hosts style and film knowledge.

    Just found this podcast
The Halloween episodes are great.. I also had no clue they were attempting a Blair witch prequel.. just some of the cool things you hear on this show

    Lost me immediately
Might be good. But I picked a random episode and within the first five minutes someone made a throwaway joke that was demeaning, disrespectful, and based on an untrue stereotype. I can take a joke and since we have freedom of speech, go for it fellas! But I’m out.

    Halo
Over an hour and I know less about the Halo movie than when I started. 4/5 good podcast but sometimes a little unfocused.

    Best podcast made
“What could have been?” is always a fascinating topic in media, especially in cinema. Best Movies Never Made distills that idea into a must listen for movie fans (and any consumers of pop culture). Stephen and Josh (and guests) bring industry insight into the stories behind these canceled projects. The episode topics are handled with a laid back and welcoming passion for cinema, detailed analysis and history, and quality production. The idea behind the show is so simple yet clever that I’m a little jealous I didn’t think of it first. Please give them a listen and follow now!

    Absolutely Fascinating!
This show is so fun. I love tumbling down this eternal rabbit hole of films-that-never-were. Keep up the great work, Stephen and Josh. And in the future, any chance we can get an episode about “The Hardy Men” — Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise as grown up Hardy Boys.

The Best Podcast No One is Talking About
I’ve been listening for more than a year now, and the Rob Schrab two-parter is genuinely one of their finest episodes. To listen to Schrab’s struggles, heartbreaks, and victories is a marvelous emotional backbone. Every episode of this podcast is a must listen. The hosts are perfect (and, instead of schmos like myself, are actually working writers). Subscribe immediately.

    Excellent podcast
This podcast is consistently excellent. If you are even marginally interested in unmade scripts and the stories behind movies that didn’t quite get made, then you will love this podcast.

A great peek behind the scenes of screenwriting.
    See above.

    A great podcast concept!
This is such a cool idea! I’ll be binge listening to the episodes that interest me. Some suggestions: the original Saw 7-8 concepts, Craven’s Scream 5-6, Whedon’s Batman/Wonder Woman/X-Men, Batman movies in general.

Needs Something Other Than Old White Guys...
This is actually a really fun podcast and a good listen but nearly every guest is a white guy. While the stories are good and fascinating it’s not fun to listen to the usual suspects tell all-too-similar stories over and over. I get that the majority of Hollywood are white guys but I’m sure plenty of women and people of color have also not had movies made and probably have some good stories about that.

    Interesting and entertaining
Listen for the first time because of a Star Wars episode and then ended up listening to their entire back catalog of episodes over the next couple weeks. This is a great podcast for anyone interested in how movies get made, or better yet why they don’t. I probably would have never watched half the films discussed had they been made, but the backstory behind why they didn’t was still entertaining.

    Such a great show.
I’ve literally been looking for a podcast like this for years. Hollywood is full of stories of movies that never happened or were abandoned before they saw the light of day. I’ve always wanted a podcast that tells those stories and shares with us the movies that could have been. These guys do a great job of not only unpacking the story of those movies, but also the behind-the-scenes reasons and drama that explain what kept these movies from reaching the silver screen. It’s an absolutely great lesson no matter what kind of movie they’re talking about. If you’re a fan of movies, this podcast as well worth your time.

How did I not know about this and how am I not the host !?!
Fuuuuunk me. This is awesome. I’m 57. I used to wait for all these announced movies to become actual movies. And they never arrived. Now I know ... the rest of the story. Fantastic podcast. Fantastic hosts. Fantastic special guests. If you like radiodrome ?!? Josh Hadley wished he thought of this. You need to listen to this podcast. As I say I’m old enough to be first generation for all these stupid movies. Jodorowsky and the last DUNE Epic!?? Stanley Kubrick and his lost Napoleon film project !?! Dammit people. This is what we needed in a podcast. It has everything. ET II this time it’s personal.

    Just awful
This podcast was recommended to me, so I listened to the Tobe Hooper White Zombie episode, which was excellent but mostly due to what the guest had to say. Every other episode I’ve tried has been awful, Josh Miller tries to be the funniest guy in the room and misses by a mile - awesome no-sell of his lame attempts at humor by the comic-con crowd during Beetlejuice show. Just a bunch of woke snowflake SJW types going on and on about how all of these unmade screenplays are ‘so baaaaaaaaad’. When they started hyperventilating and describing HP Lovecraft as ‘problematic’, during the At the Mountains of Madness episode, I was done listening. Scarlata sounds very knowledgeable, Josh Miller is annoying af, show might be okay without him.

You must listen to this podcast! Fan-tastic!!
This is how great this show is...even if you see a movie title you think you have no intrest in, it's still an amazing listen. For example, the latest one, White Zombie, I have no knowledge, connection or love for the original whatsoever. But the guests are always so solid and engaging, I thought, what the heck, let's go White Zombie! In short, it was freakin' amazing! The hosts are knowledgeable and funny and always keep things moving along. If you love this kind of topic, you will love this podcast.

    Amazing show
A huge wealth of knowledge and each episode is a deep dive into the production process. Amazing guests and great personalities!
  • Nick, named.
    Awesome.
I just wanna say that I'm glad I stumbled onto this show. What an entertaining and informative podcast. I had a few good laughs and I actually learned something, which has proven difficult for me because I already know everything. Thanks for the fun, boys! Looking forward to more episodes about potentially rad and/or terrible films. Keep up the good work!

    Very specific, and specifically awesome.
There is a weath of unproduced screenplays floating around hollywood (and the internet) and Stephen and Josh are doing a wonderful job picking out some of the gems, finding the writers, actors and producers who worked on them and discussing what went wrong, why it's a shame they were never made, and why there might still be a chance to make some magic. If you're just starting with the show I suggest downloading the episode with director Fred Dekker, so much fun.

Must listen for any movie buff or those curious about Hollywood
Amazing podcast. Wonderful background in how these movies were never made. Even how they may have lead to an actual movie being made. If you love film or wanna know about how films are made definitely check this out.
