SD33Old fan returns a decade laterI grew up listening to Michael Medved in the back of my parent’s station wagon when he would fill in for Rush Limbaugh in the 90s. Michael then became a staple of my teenage years as my political opinions were starting to solidify around a conservative worldview. I regarded him as one of the most intellectually formidable thinkers of the golden era of conservative talk radio at that time, and his honesty and commitment to following his convictions really stuck with me. Fast forward to today. I’m in my 40s now and haven’t listened to traditional talk radio in over a decade. My views have moderated over the years and I’ve found an intellectual home with center to center left thinkers like Sam Harris, Jonathan Haidt, and Barry Weiss. But I recently found myself wondering what had happened to Michael Medved. I had to smile today as I recently rediscovered his show and saw that after all these years he had stuck to his convictions and didn’t succumb to audience capture or the Trump train. Started listening and reading his columns again and it felt like reuniting with an old friend. In some small way, his voice gives me hope that there is still some nuance left to glean in the world of conservative voices. It feels good to be back.

counting calories works !!What happened to you Michael?I use to tune into all 3 hrs of your formerly national and local radio program , looking forward to the interviews and debate with callers who disagreed with you. This format really helped me better articulate and discuss my own conservative viewpoint with others in a way which fostered substantial interactions with others. Since President Trumps 2016 Presidency you have bee unable to see things objectively with Trump . I’m not in 100% agreement with him but I did vote for him three times feeling he was the best candidate . I would love for you to discuss President Trump with a more fair unbiased lens getting past the disdain you clearly have for him.
-
triggertigeeMedved the PhariseeMichael is like a Pharisee, self righteous gate keeper ! He can’t see past the beam in his eye and tries to take out the sliver in Trumps. Gross that he would tare down the fabric of society by voting for the lunatic left. Even liberal giants like Joe, Elon, RFK could take radical left anymore, you can keep Medved.

Movie fan 1969Lost your objectivityI eagerly listened to Michael for nearly 30 years. His local show was a highlight to my Seattle visits in the 90s, before going national. Openly conservative, but open-minded to hear the other side, I considered him the best of the conservative talk shows. I was a never-Trumper in 2016, and still wish we had a better candidate to follow, but Michael’s TDS has stripped him of any objectivity and one can hardly hear any 5-minute segment anymore without Michael going out of his way to attack Trump or advance the opposition. I agree Trump has severe flaws, but America was much better off 2017-2020 than any other time from Obama-Biden-Harris. God used Nebudchanezzar and Darius, though they were not godly men. He can similarly use Trump. Israel never had a better friend in the White House, and I hope Michael can see beyond his own myopic biases.

wildhorse65No longer a listener to MichaelMichael I am sorry but your rhetoric is so blatantly anti Trump. It goes beyond disagreements. I’m not certain that you are supporting Harris. But I do believe you will be pleased with a Trump loss. You refer to trump saying that Harris is the enemy. I don’t think Harris is the enemy but I believe Harris is bad for America. We will all see what happens come 2025. I hope and pray that if Harris wins we have 4 years of peace. I will resume listening to you after the election. Will you be gloating about a Harris win. Try to be fair and report truthfully concerning both trump and Harris. Respectfully yours David

weasel990Needs to retitle hi show to “Let’s badmouth Trump!Medved is not a conservative and it’s not hard to figure why a lot of radio stations dropped him. He should stick to reviewing movies and trying to pas himself as a conservative!
-
JillRRSSome Constructive CriticismI like your show, but these episode titles are a little boring. Maybe instead of listening names noone has ever heard of, title these things after what you’re talking about.

sngr4evrNever TrumpMichael’s grasp and knowledge of history is very good. His movie reviews are also worth looking into. However he longs and lives in the days of Ronald Reagan and all his political views are colored thru those rose colored glasses which is rapidly fading in America’s rear view mirror. His disdain for Trump borders on dishonesty at times as he takes special joy in mocking the hyperbole and exaggerations DT routinely uses to makes his points, cherry picking out of context the most outrageous and taking them literally. A tactic the left uses consistently to discredit not only DT but any conservative or political opponent. I admire his desire that political discourse should rise out of the gutter to a higher level. He used to be a lot better at analyzing and comparing policies honestly rather than thru the lens of his contempt for DT.

BDWiedRINOI listened to MM for years in Seattle. I first questioned his authenticity during primary season 2016. an African-American woman called and said she was thinking about voting for Trump instead of Hillary. Mind you, this was primary season, candidates has not been selected yet. he made the case to her why Hillary was better than Trump. I personally was leaning away from Trump at the time. I actually did not vote for him in 2016. But really, Hillary over Trump? I hadn’t listened to him since probably late 2016. I found this podcast and listened for about 15 minutes and remembered why I don’t waste my time anymore. The man is a fraud. I remember when Shapiro was first starting out his program in Seattle. The two of them always had differences. He’s always been a fraud. Listen to Ben Shapiro if you want good analysis of current events

Cfountain72Brave and PrincipledI listened to Michael years ago when he was on a local station, but after he was removed, I assumed he had called it quits. I was pleasantly surprised to see he’s stilll alive and broadcasting. Apparently, refusing to blindly kiss Trump’s ring has cost him many listeners and stations, but this is true courage and principle in action. Sadly, many Republicans have forgotten what principle actually looks (or sounds) like. Keep up the good work Mr. Medved. God bless you.
-
7655:7A True TreasureMichael is one of the most pragmatic political commentators in the country. It’s shameful that so many radio stations (including his hometown of Seattle) removed him from the airways for, what I understand, his refusal to kiss the ring of MAGA. Michael’s history specials are the best. Like David McCullough short stories.
-
5porkchop5Getting too liberalI love Michael’s history shows and most of his insight. Lately he has become too woke. I assume when you’re surrounded by leftists on the west coast it’s bound to pollute you. Hope he gets out of the funk.
-
Dede VicFDR established Camp David, not Eisenhower.Michael stated in Episode on July 7, 2023 that President Eisenhower established Camp David. It was FDR. In those days it was called Shangri-La .Eisenhower changed the name to Camp David after his grandson David.
-
bettercallsaul2003Liberal nonsenseMike is a Democrat in sheep’s clothing. Beware!!! He will lead you astray. The only good work he ever did was his history shows
-
robster7996In regards to civil war comments. What idiot made this Statement? "the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Hint, he supported the French Revolution in all its horrors and has his own monument in DC and iis my least favorite founder despite his witty repartee.
-
dylanbrooke17Trump Derangement SyndromeMike use to be a a Conservative when he was champing for deep states Republicans like Bush. Now his true colors show. He’s not an American first Conservative. He’s a Trump hater. All you need to know is in his terrible coverage of January 6 and his misguided belief that more Americans are seeing it as an insurrection.
-
Yorel206Faux ConservativeMichael used to be a reliable conservative voice. But after Trump took Office, he turned back to his old roots of liberalism. He voted for Joe Biden and Jay Inslee. You cannot call yourself a Conservative and vote for either of those two people. So long Michael. I’m sure Rush was rather saddened by you being a turncoat.
-
DubExpressEstablishment supporterIt seems that his ability to sit in the middle leads Michael to blindly speak on important issues. It’s as though Trump lives in his head. I’ll guess he toes the line to make sure BIG tech doesn’t remove him from all their platforms.
-
Mean_MonteEnough of Covid coverage please!I’ve listened to Mike for many years now however I turn the station or stop iTunes every time Mike starts down the Covid badgering. Thank you.
-
BrackenhoffDon BI have listened to Michael for years and have always enjoyed his balanced views and opinions. I noticed several recent reviews giving Michael low ratings saying he has changed. I don’t believe this at all. A percentage of the GOP changed in the last few years. While I supported many of President Trump’s policies, I definitely didn’t agree with his character. When will the GOP nominate a candidate with great conservative policies with a character to match?

Spisy 69The last of a dying breedAs one of his longtime liberal listeners — he apparently has quite a few — I have always found Michael to be reasonable, if not always agreeable. In my view, Mr. Medved represents the last of a dying breed of political commentators who is partisan, but still willing to critique their own party whenever criticism is warranted. From the left, I can only think of Bill Maher who does the same thing. It saddens me to realize that both of these gentlemen are in the twilight of their careers and that once they are gone, all that will remain are the one-sided pundits who cheerlead only their home team while NEVER acknowledging any valid points made by the opposing side (i.e, Tucker Carlson, Rachel Maddow, Mark Levin, Don Lemon, Sean Hannity). I fear that in a few more years, nuance will be gone from our political discourse, and the massive polarization that already exists will only worsen. I can only hope that Medved and Maher will leave behind a model legacy of reasonability — devoid of group-think and hyper-partisanship — that will be followed by the political commentators of tomorrow.

GregInBellevueMy Go-To PodcastMichael has been in the business a long time. He is smart, engaging, allows dissenters to speak, and then uses facts and logic in rebuttals. The people who don’t like him are Trump apologists, which may be about 1/3 of the GOP. I am glad he speaks his conscious. We can do better than Trump, Cruz, Hawley, Gaetz, MTG, and the like. Medved calls this breed of politician out for their selfish and destructive behavior, and calls for a return to the days when young conservatives actually promoted IDEAS, not themselves. We need a sane and stable leadership to balance out the left, which is the way our country was founded, but we have a cancer that has metastasized. Medved is a voice of reason through all of this.
-
HeatmongerMedved is honest, true to his convictionsReally enjoy listening to him, he is a well educated super smart conservative voice, one who is not sold out to any one person but speaks his mind open and honesty about American politics.
-
I 'm A BelieverThank YouThank you Michael and crew for your beautiful tribute to Rush Limbaugh. So true what you said about Rush’s eternal optimism and why liberal talk radio has failed.
-
JdscotchRINOI used to love Medved until he became bitter in the early aughts. I rediscovered his podcast last year and appreciated hearing the distinguished voice again, but I think his secular bias has totally blinded him to the truth which he glosses over with pedantic details and practical fallacies.
-
noneyaeffinbusinessNot worthy of listeners anymore.I used to enjoy Mr. Medved, until I realized he’s an establishment republican. He promotes the whole left/right divide that destroyed our country for decades. Instead of using his eyes when there was BLATANT election fraud, he just parroted the CNN/MSNBC/FOX “news” propaganda about “no election fraud”. Cus apparently it’s not fraudulent to change election laws illegally without state legislatures voting on it in violation of state and federal constitutions. Apparently it’s not fraudulent to kick out republican count watchers and deny them access to view the counts, and cover windows so they couldn’t see inside the room that they were denied access to. Apparently it’s not fraudulent to illegally scan ballots multiple times and send people home for the night saying “counting will resume tomorrow” then after count watchers leave, pulling hidden ballots out from under tables that all MAGICALLY are one sided. Apparently it’s not fraudulent to not require identification to get ballots, or to threaten witnesses and their children in order to get them to back off from exposing fraud or harm may come to them. Mr Medved is a very smart man, but he has become a democrat in republican clothes. He should be ashamed of himself for sitting by and not discussing the fact that courts denied even LOOKING at evidence based on technicalities. He should be ashamed of himself for sitting by while watching socialism take over the country that has enabled him to become rich and famous. I was a fan of his first YEARS, until he told his fans to not believe our eyes and the things we WITNESSED PERSONALLY. I PERSONALLY SEEN my county elections office not asking for identification to get ballots, which IS fraud, and HE KNOWS IT. He is helping the left reign in a socialist takeover and I hope he’ll be proud of himself when they start arresting people simply for speaking out against corruption. Cus that’s coming. But he’s got all the money he’ll need, so he can flee when the time comes, so who cares what happens to the rest of us, the little people that have bought his BOOKS and contributed to his fortune. I’m not a book burner like the left he seems to like, but I do have a Salvation Army in my area, I’ll be dropping off the 7 BOOKS of his that I’ve purchased over the years. I just hope the books I own that I have enjoyed over the years will benefit others but hopefully they will see him for what he is before they buy other ones brand new like I did. Too bad he’s too selfish, otherwise I’d ask him for a refund. Best wishes to him, not that he’ll need it, he will be able to buy his way out of the mess he sat by and was silent about letting happen. Unlike the rest of us who funded his extravagant lifestyle over the years. He’ll have to answer to God why he bowed down and said nothing about what will come soon. I won’t be listening to him again, and I would NOT recommend him to anyone again. I feel bad for encouraging dozens of friends and family over the years that have become his fans too. I’m sure they will all see him for what he is, a socialist collaborator. It’s horrible for a man with such a widespread voice to keep silent about what he HAS to have seen. Maybe he didn’t see it cus he was paid to look the other way. That’s the only way you could get by as a radio host with his brain and not see it. Greed. Like he needs more money.

atjsajChangedAs with another commenter, Mr. Medved has changed. Yes, the Capitol riots were awful. However, laying the blame on one man is ludicrous. It’s ok to burn down the rest of the country, of which Republicans did not do, but touch our hallowed offices in D.C. is just going to far. People are frustrated. D.C. is blind, or doesn’t care, as to what happens outside the beltway. Some People are awakening to that, sadly many are not. Violence is not the answer. However, take a deep look at who really is inciting it. Or, are we not allowed to. I think that is the underlying issue.

Not good for iPhoneDoes not support the PresidentCan’t listen to this whiner.
-
danargueLeft Turns.Michael has forgotten history. He now supports the side of tyranny and incredibly, the side of anti-Semitism. In order to “bring unity“ he is now supporting the side that wants to defund the police and destroy our cities. I am very saddened by this turn of events. I have been a listener for many years but no more.
-
Eax57He’s changedUsed to love listening to Michael Medved on my local station but he was replaced by Gorka. However, about 2 years before Michael left, his bent had become more to the left and away from the European ethos that shaped this country and the basis for the demographic population of the country. That’s easy to do if you have another place to emigrate to. Michael, what happened to you Conservative views? What are you conserving? You are a smidge further right than George Will.
-
kr fhusHappy to find thisI used to listen to Michael on the radio and I really enjoyed his balanced opinions. These shorter podcasts are great to listen to. I can do half of one on my way to work and the other half on my way home. I so appreciate that he looks at things from both side and he is courteous to his guests. No matter where they stand on an issue.
-
Loving2bmomAppreciate the abridged versionI actually appreciate the abridged version of the show because many days I don’t have time to listen to the whole three hours. The shorter version gives me the highlighted segment of the day which is appreciated.

Shimon from LADaas TorahHi Michael, If you want a theological perspective, why not get some Daas Torah. Rav Shmuel...Rav Michel ... so many others who can share Emes with your listeners. Thoughts?

Luke K Ivey JrLuke K. Ivey, Jr.Even though I know Michael is a never Trumper, his analysis and talk on Conservative issues always seems to be balanced and fair when addressing issues through a conservative lens. I appreciated his insight in general, and specifically his historical analysis juxtaposed to current events. I also love Michaels take and analysis on pop culture concerning America and Western Civilization. I used to listen to the Michael Medved Show on Philadelphia, PA local station WNTP 990AM News Talk which was rebranded to Philadelphia’s AM990 The Answer. So sad to see you leave Philly’s airwaves. I will definitely continue to listen to your show’s podcast on Apple Podcasts. Love your show. 🇺🇸❤️👍🏽
-
Greyson11Smarter than the room anti TrumperJust listened for first time in years. Same cast of never Trump people administered by a smarter than the room type who can’t admit he was wrong. Used to be a Medhead subscriber. It makes me wince now.goodbye
-
RudeRojMost level-headed conservative commentatorWhat I like about Michael Medved is he is one of the most fair, level-headed commentators in radio. I like several other radio hosts for various reasons, but Michael is always fair and consistent. If you're new to conservatism, listen to Michael first.
-
dennis.karpfDennis KarpfOutstanding public policy commentary. Mr. Medved is articulate, reflective, incisive and very knowledgeable. Do not miss his podcasts and guests.
-
GocincyFair and Balanced In the Truest SenseThere is no one out there better than Medved presenting the conservative argument. I’m frankly perplexed how someone like Michael Medved doesn’t have a national footprint on policy discussions in this country.
-

Xane Son SonLove M. MedvedThe Medved show is probably the most unbiased political show out there. M. Medved states his biased and even admits if he’s wrong... Also side note his movie reviews are spot on.
-
P.Con.Awesome showMedved usually approaches big issues with clarity and fairness which is lacking in many polarizing commentators today. His show also features some interesting material on pop culture and history. If you have time, consider subscribing to entire show, not just these opening minutes.
-
RemingtonSmithMiss him in DFWSeems like he was taken off when he differed in opinion with the Trump supporters. Just found him on podcast. Refreshing!
-
JaybirdbroncoBe like MikeSince moving to AK have missed listening to Mike. Thank you podcasts, sweet! The smartest guy in the room, common sense and explains well.
-
Danger DannyTop Shelf!Medved is an intelligent and thoughtful commentator. He provides a measured and reasoned voice to the arena of political podcasting. He leans right, but is not a zealot. He provides clear reasoning for his point of view without straying into hyperbole. Michael knows a lot about a lot, but he does not come off as a smug know it all. Don’t miss his movie reviews and especially his history podcasts!
-
TizweedMiss you on Salem RadioSo glad this is being provided via Podcast. Enjoy the thoughtful and balanced commentary on today’s political issues and news.

Jamm1971OutstandingThe best thing about Michael is his ability to bring a historical perspective to almost every issue. One of the best political commentators in America today.
