Love the music at the end
I have listened to many political news podcasts and I like the sober insights with some humor. The guests are outstanding. But I want to give special kudos to whoever who chooses the song at the end. It is always fitting. Sometimes it makes me smile. Sometimes it makes me tear up. Sometimes it makes me laugh out loud on the connection to the episode.

    Great convos and music
Always great conversations, balanced and thoughtful, which as an ex-Christian/conservative never-republican democrat I always learn a lot from. I would love if the song at the end of each episode was listed in the show notes :)

Why Christianity? Or Judaism or Islam or
any of the large religious sects? Why not a community of people sharing life’s journeys and looking for the good in each other like Ethical Humanism? Agnostics, atheists and theists alike all welcome there.

Makes a very strong summary of Trump corruption and how it works and concludes very strongly and then Tim says oh maybe I don’t know let’s talk about something funny

Yes to corruption as unifying message because now his corruption affects all of us- cutting important programs for his gain- Social Security etc. just FOCUS relentlessly!!

    Less Michael Steele
I generally enjoy the podcast even as a much more liberal person, but I had to stop listening to the Michael Steele episode. Too many cringe declarative statements that aren’t even logical or considered-Pete Hegseth is “even worse” than Gaetz ? The Magna Carta is your model ? The Magna Carta was historically NOT actually concerned with the “everyday man”; it argued for the rights of all free men, which at the time it was written included primarily everyone BUT the “everyday man”.

    Excellent
Tim is so refreshing, authentic and insightful. If you love to The Bulwark, try “I’ve Had It” podcast too.

Can we stop talking about the obvious laws Trump is breaking!
What about solutions, what we can do, how to we impeach this cabinet! We all know it’s horrific!

Tim Miller - an authentic, informative personality
I might disagree with Tim on a few items but a fan of all things bulwark and especially so him. His authenticity is a big part of that

Can’t get enough of The Bulwark
Have seen Tim on Deadline Whitehouse with Nicole Wallace and always enjoy his takes. Now I am a hardcore Bulwark fan. Can’t recommend this podcast enough. Give it a listen- Tim Miller, Sam Stein, Sarah Longwell and JVL are my favorites.

    Great podcast
“Why should we want power?” O’Brien asks Winston. “You are ruling over us for our own good” is Winston’s answer. O’Brien pulls the lever on the torture machine. “That was stupid, Winston, stupid!” he says. “You should know better than to say a thing like that.” He will tell him the correct answer, O’Brien says. “It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power
We are different from all the oligarchies of the past, in that we know what we are doing
We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.” Orwell 1984

    Worthy podcast
Rather than stress the high quality of this podcast’s analysis I propose an awful scenario: they won’t try to bring people back because that would reveal they’re no longer alive. Better to own being a pack of pricks than accomplices after the fact.

It is still all a lie
This group of talking heads is a group that has never been on the winning side. They are - much like the Republican talking heads - here for the grift. When both the democrats -see Chris Whipple book- amd the Trump kingdom are lying about pretty much all things
reference the title above. Waste of my time. And yours.

    April 11 David Frum episode
Great interview with David Frum. I think the reason Trump is just an agitator is his desperate neediness for constant attention (and his personal worship of wealth). He could never recognize or appreciate the cooperative intricacy of the global (worldwide) supply chain because it means the world is made up of many contributors and many heroes, and he doesn’t want anyone but himself to be counted (unless all of those others express worship of him). His consummate need and greed to be the only victor has long made it clear he should never be the leader of any FREE country, certainly not ours. Our founders imagined US leaders of extra large courage, intelligence, patience, and morality and he doesn’t qualify.

Terrible take on Trump voters Were they not alive during the pandemic? For starters. No sympathy for twice stupid. I’ll skip this show
  • Jenny Two-Shoes
    Catherine Rampell? Yes, Please.
Wow, I loved listening to Catherine Rampell with Tim. She is a joy to listen to and I hope we get to hear from her regularly. Obviously to be a listener means that I also adore Tim and his pearls of wisdom (and pearls of necklace.) Not to mention that Sam Stein is quick witted, thoughtful and eloquently conveys intelligent views. Thank you guys!

Condescending comments do not bridge divides. I look forward and listen to this podcast daily. But, Tim’s condescending comments about people who enjoy and participate in playing board games and strategy games really bothered me. Talk about elitist and condescending,Tim, please
you and your podcast are usually much better than those comments.

    Tim Miller’s takes
Some of Tim Miller’s hot takes have no grounding in reality. No Democratic politicians are speaking out? (Warren, Bernie, Murphy, AOC, etc?) Saying the media wrongly shamed Armie Hammer? Please read the many accounts from women before you casually dismiss their claims. Seems the goal is to be provocative which I guess is the world we live in but does it have to be?
  • Listenedforawhilenow
    One problem
I love all of the podcasters and admire their work, values and courage so much. However Sam Stein comes across as a hack and a dilettante. He needs to learn more about the topics and speak with more humility and curiosity. This is not a late-night show on the couch. Sam phones it in and he needs to work harder. Whenever he is in an episode I can’t even listen to it.

DOGE savings and tariffs are meant to pay for the tax cuts that Trump wants to give to the rich
You need to keep making the connection that Trump wants to cut taxes for the rich and to pay for that he’s gonna say that he saved money from DOGE and tariffs which can pay for the tax cuts. Don’t lose sight of his poor intention.
  • makeupmyname
    Cut the passive aggression.
It’s really annoying when the host(s) insist on letting their anti-Democrat vibe seep into the discussion at any chance possible. Before Miller and Stein could give an ounce of credit for Cory Booker’s record-breaking speech (you try standing and speaking for 24 hours), they first of course had to make pee jokes. Ugh. Enough of the “bro” lower common denominator pettiness.

    My ode to Elise
A Classified Signal came to one named Stefanik: “We’ve sent the two Vances on a mission Greenlandic! Their main roles way up there are near-messianic: To change the big subject from SignalGate-tanic, Where pressure to fire Hegseth is almost volcanic. So Elise, you must Listen — because we’re now in Panic . . . In the House you have been a most faithful mechanic, Now you’ll save Our SecDef from the forces Satanic!”

Bulwark has been a go to since Jan 20th
I am a regular listener now, I dig your post-repub (?) left leaning contrarian perspective even if I'm a Bernie lefty contrarian. I also need your outrage over people getting kidnapped off the street with no notice or due process and your exhausted frustration is an island from the absurdism of capitulation. Amanda Carpenter was a little too regime apologist for my taste, but whatever, all ports in a storm. And yes from an ep earlier this week-I feel guilty and confused about anything good happening at the same time as this nightmare we're living too.

Please try to be a little more encouraging
There are people protesting! I think it would be helpful to highlight this. You very jadedly mentioned the protests on April 5th, but I know a ton of people who are planning to do this. If mass mobilization is what you want then please please help encourage it!
  • Eilah Wood
    Love the show
But why were the April 5 hands off protests barely mentioned as an afterthought with Lovett? All the talk about how we need to be in streets but little support for those who are.

    Tim & Sam
I tune in daily for up to date honest info on current politics. It’s nice to have some normal coverage that isn’t full of lies. Thanks guys for the good work you do!

    New fan of Jon Lovett
I’m bummed that I missed the emo cast after the election that you had with Jon! I had to go back and listen to it after hearing you reference the crying today. I wish I had tuned in to your show for some company cos I really needed to commiserate with others who were devastated as well. You both expressed my feelings exactly. I was also mourning my ideals of what I thought America and American’s (family and friend’s included) stood for, and I am shocked by the normalization and acceptance of the worst parts of humanity. I appreciate the honesty and vulnerability both Tim and Jon shared with us viewers then and now, and I’ll be looking for their commentary FIRST from here on out. Thank you for stopping the news for a bit just to feel and shake off the deep sadness and disgust of this moment we find ourselves in. I’d like to hear these two in conversation of the heart more often, please. We need it more than ever.

  • Concerned in Philadelphia
    Thank you so much!
Loved the interviews in the Wes Moore and Michael Lewis podcasts. The perspectives of people with such different life experiences are the strength of democracy. Tim Miller is extending public horizons and showing us where to look for hope in these difficult times. You do good work.

    Good common sense
I enjoy listening to this podcast to get the rest of the news critical to understand today’s crazy Trump regime

    60+ fan girl
Even though Tim gives shade to his 60+ female followers (lol), I’m still a giant fan girl!!! With his humility, temperament, snarky humor, etc., it brings a welcomed respite to my day, all while hearing about the twisted state of the world.

    Quality show
This podcast is a great mix of informative journalism, analysis, and some nice breaks of levity. When you listen to a lot of political podcast it’s nice to be able to smile every now and then. Keep up the great work!
  • Jargonwise
    Too many ads
I love your Podcast and the guests you interview, but I don’t like the number of ads that appear on each show. Also, I don’t like how they break unannounced into your discussions. It totally disrupts the flow of the conversation.

    Jeff Goldberg interview
I think it’s time to play with same rule with these guys. Put out everything and show them what kind of loser they are. Everyone complains about them but turn around and capitulate
