At his worst, Trent Condon comes across as a pretentious know-it-all. He hyperbolically overreacts to wins and losses, denigrates players when they fall short of his expectations, and critiques coaches as if he knows more than they do. He talks a mile a minute, trips over his words, and repeats the same themes over and over again. If you follow the local beat writers, he will not tell you anything that you don’t already know. The podcast is good when he has the local beat writers as guests (e.g., David Eickholt, Tom Kakert, Scott Dochterman). When it’s just him ranting and raving, he can be insufferable.

In the Locked On Iowa history I’d say Trent is the best. I’d go 5 stars if he didn’t fluctuate his volume so much and if he didn’t beat the phrase “for all intents and purposes “ into the ground.

This pod is terrible and needs a new host. Or a co-host that doesn’t pod like a jaded ex-girlfriend. Trent is a giant baby and his takes are generally bad. Brian Ferentz lives in this guy’s head rent free. Lock-on can do way better.

Not enough women’s reporting

First, her name is Monika CziNANO, not Czizano. Second, what about the softball team? What about the track teams? Swimming? Field hockey? Soccer? It’s 2023, a little equality wouldn’t kill ya. Love all my Hawkeyes!

Ads are Annoying

Trent does a great job, but the ads are annoying when they are spread throughout the entire podcast.

Good Hawkeye podcasts are hard to find and this one is pretty good. As far as production goes, no complaints. The material is really good. The one thing that I can’t get over is LeShun constantly saying “Right?” I like listening to him but “Right?” is a huge distraction. Could you imagine a drinking game for each time he says the word “right”. Other than that…great show!

Pretty good, but...

Good podcast with good insight, but the commercials are close together. An example is having paid sponser commercials come up, they talk for about 45 seconds then go into other commercials. This is frustrating. Just keep all the commercials together. Also, too much background noise is coming through: Dogs barking, kids running and screaming, etc. It's distracting. Please fix these and the podcast would be perfect.

New guy needs to fix the static audio

Audio continues to be a huge issues, can’t listen anymore, I’ve tried, hoping you’d fix the audio issues and it’s beyond terrible. I can’t tolerate it anymore. I’ll listen to other Iowa podcasts moving forward. Let the fans know when you fix the issues so we can give it another try.

Hate! The recording quality, cuts in and out very very choppy. Half the episodes are hard to listen to or i delete them halfway through because i cant stand the quality

I follow your KXNO show podcast (living out of state) and was stoked to learn that you were taking over a struggling Locked On Iowa Podcast. Uncle Andrew was ok, but I had to mute the nephew. Early on, I have to say, don’t take the lazy way out by blaming Spencer Petras for being part of a poor running game, a bad OL, an unqualified OC, and a failed scheme that pretends to be “complimentary” football. Petras is not good, but he’s not the only problem.

Good topics of conversation but....the guys talk so fast that they get ahead of their thoughts. There is too much of "I mean"...they start talking and then veer off to bring in side thoughts before completing the thought started. Listen to the big time broadcasters, fellas, and learn how to talk. Go Hawks!

Good content, not great delivery

I like the short, daily episodes. Really love hearing from Leshun Daniels to recap the games as well. The host sounds like he is a nervous attorney in court or something, though. I think if he were to relax and just act as if he’s in a normal conversation then the show would improve. The ads are pretty bad, too.

Overall this is a decent podcast. I like the concept of a new show each day, and I enjoy that. The content is good for any Hawkeye lover. The host is below average. He talks way to fast and it seems extremely scripted. If he could take a breath, calm down, and show some personality it would easily be a 5 star.

You have some good insights and analysis. Note IN played defense-give them much of the credit. IN missed a BUNDLE of free throws. This was a blowout loss. Bad, slow, lazy defense is NOT acceptable! They’ve had some good defensive efforts in recent wins. Last night was obviously not. Keep up the good work. R Ropp

Overall Very Good

Overall a very good podcast and it’s great to have a show that mostly fact-based rather than other Hawkeye podcasts that are filled with huge egos and really bad takes. One suggestion I have for the host: There are times were you get talking very quickly and skip over parts/syllables of words which makes you hard to understand.
