    My new favorite podcast
The guests that Julia talks with are so interesting. And, of course, Julia is so interesting to listen to also. She is so generous with her knowledge and with her personal experience. I’ve listen to about 10 podcasts so far and have loved to each and every one.

    popcorn rec!
fun and warm--just listened to the Jasmine Guillory ep and wanted to recommend another East Coast popcorn--Pioneer Valley Popcorn from Colrain, MA. I love the Rancho Gordo but this stuff is my new favorite! From hagersfarmmarket.com

So glad I found this podcast!
I discovered this podcast through Julia’s interview on appetite with Virginia Sole Smith and I LOVED it. They speak so openly about their own journeys and speak so positively about having an appetite. Now I have listened to 2 other episodes in addition to that one and I am hooked. Next I have to sign up for her cooking class on Sundays. So glad I found this podcast!

Makes me think and I love the series themes
After taking a cooking class with Julia through Milk Street, I have started listening to this podcast. I have not gone back that far, but I love the theme-based series. It was fun to listen to interviews with other people I enjoy like Virginia Sole-Smith (who I usually hear as the interviewer) and Jasmine Guillory. I appreciate how Julia shares her journey away from diet culture in an honest, straightforward way. I think everyone has a complicated relationship with food, and it helps to hear from others about it.

    Calming
Beautiful and meaningful podcast that never fails to make me feel comforted and inspired. Each guest brings an interesting perspective and I love hearing Julia’s side of each question as well, a back-and-forth rather than strictly interviewing. My favourite episode is the one with her partner about their experiences with diet culture..

    Unexpected Depth
Found Julia Turshen through search for podcasts featuring personal pod fav Aubrey Gordon. KEEP CALM’s pacing feels slow relative to many that I listen to - but have finally realized that its pace allows for space to digest the ideas and thoughts that Turshen elicits from her guests. Am loving more and more KEEP CALM’s unabashed willingness to wade into difficult and vulnerable territory, to articulate and interrogate what lies down there. V. much hope for promised episode on overlap between White Feminism and Diet Culture!

Beautiful podcast in this dumpster fire of a world!
I truly escape into this podcast. Julia does a fantastic job of engaging her guests in conversation while helping us all cook a little better along the way. I own all of her cookbooks and listening to this podcasts makes cooking out of them more meaningful. Keep it up Julia (and Grace!).

    Love for Julia.
I listen to Julia’s podcasts the way that some people listen to favorite songs from a favorite album. She handles her presence in food media with an almost disarming balance of insight, honesty, and generosity. She’s become a role model not only for how to operate in a kitchen, but also for how to navigate through life. Simply can’t recommend her enough. Xoxo.

I met Julia through this podcast
I started listening during the pandemic, and I’ve really grown to love her. She seems like such a nice person. That sounds like a boring thing to say, but it’s what has really drawn me in when there are so many other food related podcasts to choose from. I appreciate that she talks cooking as an educated peer and doesn’t talk down to the audience. I also appreciate her take on health in relation to food. She’s someone I would want to be friends or neighbors with. Keep up the fantastic work and THANK YOU!

    What a great show!
Came to this show bc of the Jasmine Guillory interview, but have been catching up. Love to have experts talk to other experts.

    So thoughtful!
Just listened to my first two episodes (the romance writers series) and loved them both!! Julia is such a thoughtful listener and interviewer — I feel like I learned more about food and about life! I also want to add that podcast feels very calming. (I love the Brené Brown podcasts, but I can’t listen to them when I’m stressed out or overwhelmed. This podcast is kinder to my nervous system!)

    Like a friend
I have literally never met Julia Turshen, but through her many outlets (cookbooks, newsletter, classes, and of course this podcast) I feel like a friend is just sitting down with me and chatting about food. Her podcast is just like her food— approachable and modern and fun. Recommend this, and everything else Julia does!

    Engaging, fun, and educational!
I love this podcast because, well, Julia is just the best. She is so very pleasant to listen to, because she is calm, smart, funny, and very good at interviewing her guests. I love to cook, and Julia’s recipes that I have made are always beyond delicious. I highly recommend this podcast.

Great content, terrible audio King Arthur episode
There’s no reason with today's high tech possibilities to have a podcast with poor sound. I’m sure the podcast with the King Arthur Flour spokesman was fascinating but I couldn’t tolerate listening to a speaker who sounded like he was in an echo chamber.

    Comfort listening
I’ve loved JT since her first book, Small Victories. She has so much perspective and is open to learning everyday. Her recipes are fantastic, she gets great guests and it just is a little moment that feels like home, like a friend. Inclusive, light hearted and I learn something every time! The best.

I love everything that Julia Turshen touches!
I have been a fan of Julia’s since she hosted the Cherry Bomb podcast years ago. Her conversations are thoughtful, yet also funny and authentic. She’s the real deal, and I’ve learned so much from her!

    Love
One of my favorite podcasts. So good, so thoughtful. She deep dives into hugely important topics. Her most recent episode with her wife, Grace, should be an ongoing segment. Highly recommend.

    Good Content, Relatable Host
Julie feels like a personal friend and each episode is like being introduced to one of her friends and expanding my circle. I really enjoy the format and content - even though I’m not a home chef! I also love that Julia is so generous with her compliments, time, and personal philosophy. She’s thoughtful and I learn so much listening to this podcast.

    Really good!
Loved it, her voice is very easy to listen to (just wish she didn’t use the word ‘like’ over and over).

    Girl Crush!
I’ve followed Julia’s work for a while and LOVE her cooking approach. I’ve got a cookbook problem, and ‘Simply Julia’ stands out by far as my favorite to actually cook from. This podcast rounds out her food philosophy and I am so grateful for the introduction to personalities I wouldn’t have otherwise known about, like the excellent interview with Evelyn Tribole! Love, Love, Love!

    Pati Jinich!
I recently discovered Pati’s Mexican Table and can’t get enough of it, so I was very excited to listen to Pati’s interview on this podcast. Pati seems so down to earth, and it was wonderful to hear two women discuss their passion for life and family and food. I’ll definitely be checking out more episodes of this podcast!

    Mary Lou Conroy
I just listened to the interview with Mary Lou Conroy. This was an inspired choice of guest. Not as flashy as other food television pioneers but so memorable nonetheless. As the interview progressed, I got that sense of comfort in her stories as I did watching her narrate Great Chefs so many years ago. I appreciated Julia’s approach by conducting the interview as a conversation between new friends learning about each other. I hope Julia gets to Louisiana to meet her in person someday. This was a thoroughly enjoyable podcast.

Such thoughtful interviews! I have learned so much from each episode. Can’t wait for the next season.

    Genuine and inspiring.
I use Julia’s cookbooks frequently so when I heard she was having her own podcast I was thrilled. Not only does she talk about my favorite topic she also explores the social justice aspect of food. She is genuine and expressive, creative and fun. She has created a caring, hungry, authentic community.

Julia Turshen is a great listener
I’ve been a fan of Julia’s written work for a long time. This podcast is an opportunity to encounter her as an interviewer, and it’s abundantly clear that she is a great listener, and someone who cares deeply about hearing and capturing people’s stories via their relationships with food.

    Candid Intersectional Conversations About Cooking
This podcast is such a gem! Julia’s thoughtful conversations about food brings so much value to the table and her care in selecting guests means hearing from people who aren’t always featured on other food podcasts( but should be). As a writer and a home cook, this podcast has everything I want and is such a pleasure to listen to, especially while cooking at home. I can’t recommend it enough.

    Delightful

    One of my favorites
Julia Turshen has such a way of facilitating meaningful conversations, it’s always a joy to listen to what she and her guests have to say. I listen to this on my commute in the morning and I feel like it puts me in a peaceful state of mind before an often chaotic workday. I also appreciate how she interviews people who often don’t get a voice in food media, whether that’s queer people, people or color, or people with disabilities. Like the title of this review stats, it’s one of my favorite podcasts, if not my favorite and I often try to get other people to listen to it.

    Relaxing and educational podcast
I absolutely love this podcast! My future mother-in-law introduced me to Julia Turshens cookbooks a few years ago and I’ve been listening since! Her emphasis on food bringing families and communities together is such a lovely message and listening to her relaxing voice makes me feel home! Always a thoughtful conversation with interesting cooks (especially loved hearing from Antoni!). Relatable and informative.
