Great way to get through the day when you drive 400+ miles a day. Not a comedic show like Fluffy or George Lopez, but definitely a comedic duo in other ways.

Jimmie and James (I call them the Jimmy’s in my head tbh) will take your morbid curiosity seriously, but let’s be honest true crime will genuinely give you horror brain rot. The jokes mixed in of “how could this happen” with the REALITY of “how could this happen” is just enough to see the evil of humans and also appreciate the lives of the person who was victimized. Small Town Murder has, to me, given me a much larger view of humanity as a whole, and also shoutout to the Real Estate Reports. I have been listening for over a year, about eight hours a day, (not including Your Stupid Opinions or Crime In Sports) and am STILL not out of jokes or entertainment. 100/10 podcast if you’re not into the weird Netfilixation of brutal murders, but also want to end it light hearted without a thousand pound belly ache. LISTEN TO THEM YOU WILL NOT REGRET

I listen to a LOT of true crime, and Small Town Murder does it best. It’s thoroughly researched with cases I’ve never heard of and best of all it’s really funny without being disrespectful. I also love Jimmy and James’s relationship. They make great hosts. Once I finishing listening to all the episodes I’ll probably start all over again!

I love listening to this while I am cleaning etc. one day I took a break and sat on the couch by my husband while I was listening on my AirPods. I was giggling and he mouthed “what are you listening to?” And I yelled “haha! MURDER!” The look on his face only added to my enjoyment 😂

I now have my husband listening too and you guys are a riot!

Interesting story telling of horrible crimes. Hot take: All the main STM episodes could be Express episodes. Some have too much backstory. I find myself tuning out at times.

Obsessed is an understatement. According to my Wondery app, I’ve spent 618 hours listening to Small Town Murder in 2024 alone—and I regret none of it. James and Jimmie are not only hilarious with their dry, captivating humor, but the research James does is next-level. It’s in-depth, detailed, and you can tell he pours hours of work into each episode. What blows my mind is how he even has time for Your Stupid Opinions and the Patreon content (YSO is actually my #2 most listened to podcast—and yes, I’m a proud Patreon member too). Somehow, they never miss a beat. No late episodes, no half-hearted content. These guys are machines. I honestly think they don’t take enough time off (LBVS), but selfishly, I love that because Monday and Thursday mornings have become my favorite drives to and from work. I might be unhealthily addicted to their storytelling, but I’m not mad about it. I’m beyond excited for the live show in Chicago next month—it’s going to be amazing. Thank you both for teaching, entertaining, and shedding light on cases that would otherwise be lost to time. And thank you especially for making me laugh until I’m in tears. Y’all are the best.

I only found the boys in September of last year, and it has been AMAZING. I am listening to STM from the beginning as I wait for new episodes and it is so cool to see how far they have come in such a short time! I’ve always been a true crime fanatic. I listen to so many different versions and this by far is one of the best. As the host says at the beginning of the episodes, they are a comedy duo who tell stories about true crime. As someone who probably over consumes true crime, I love that I can turn these guys on and laugh through 80% of the story while still consuming all of the facts about the case. These two may not be everyone’s taste, but they crack me up and I am not one to be easily made to laugh as I don’t find most comedy funny.

This podcast is funny—but beyond that, the research is top-notch, and they do their own analysis. This isn’t one of those podcasts where they just read Wikipedia aloud. Jimmy & Jimmie are smart & funny. They walk us through the absurdities of every small town and every stupid murderer who thinks, “They’ll never know it was me.”

Love Love Love! I just started over from the beginning for the third time. Every episode is worth the listen!! So good... Live shows rock!! Best
