I heard an interview on Dennis Prager podcast with Lee Habeeb a month ago. I gave Our American Stories a try, then I went back to February 2021 (possibly when it started), and now am addicted to these stories. So well done and so diverse in subject matter. I’m a bit disappointed with this show, I listened to their episode about Kasserine Pass and found it informative but slow. Lots of adverts, and little insight in a short introduction.

I’ve listened to this show on and off. It has something worth listening to, and some not so much. Funny enough, if I skip ahead to the end and hear what producer did the piece, I can usually tell whether it will be good or not. This latest (as of this review) piece on “Were the Irish the 1st Slaves in America?”… WOW! The pair on whoever greenlit this one… I can guess where this producer lies politcally, but I’d also hope someone would have maybe listened to this one ahead of time and maybe think it was territory worth treading? What an unnecessary piece of drivel.

Interesting (listened to my first episode), but in an 18 min episode heard 3 rounds of ads several min long each. Sorry I’m outta here.

I stumbled upon this podcast and I am so glad. I have learned about Abraham Lincoln, I have learned about Spam, I have learned about the radium girls and each story is a little bit of americana. I heartily recommend this podcast to you and encourage you to take a listen.

The stories I hear on this podcast help restore my faith in the goodness of the people of our country. It is a refreshing break from the negativity of the 24-hour news cycle and from the ugliness of social media. It brings down my blood pressure and makes me smile and maybe cry a bit too. Not all of the stories are just feel good stories but they reflect the best and sometimes the worst of humanity, but also give you hope when you see lives turn around.

I absolutely love listening to our American stories podcasts on my phone while I exercise or week night’s on KTRH news radio while getting ready for bed. The stories will teach you about history, beautiful nonfiction stories about real people’s lives that we all can relate to- you will laugh ...you will cry ...you will be in awe! As a full-time working mom, it is “my time” to learn as well as renew my faith in humanity.

My first introduction to the show was listening to the 9/11 tribute. I’ve never cried so hard in public. And while that may not sound like a glowing review, the honest truth is this is a podcast full of inspiration and determination. Sacrifice and love. The stories of our fellow Americans teaches us something we may have forgotten in ourselves-that although we are all so different, we’re all living the American dream.
