    no thanks
who's the loud bro-y dude with off-color jokes? (mark, i think) how incredibly disrespectful... consequently very hard to listen to because of him. maybe he's not this way in all the episodes but i just listened to the Kowloon walled city episode and man he made my stomach turn. if you're gonna talk about people, do it in a respectful and humble manner ... hard pass for me

Great Info - STOP THE SMACKING SOUND
The info is awesome. Love the subject matter and the depth but one of the three hosts keeps smacking while he talks. How has this not been addressed?!? If this doesn’t bother you - highly recommend. If you have misophonia or just hate THIS STUPID NOISE, maybe skip this one.

    Fascinating
It is great to learn about so many new places. The show always finds interesting things to talk about as they look at parts of the world that aren’t necessarily on the front page of the news.

    Wonderful Podcast
I love this podcast it’s so unlike anything else out there . The research is excellent and gives me so much knowledge about places I know very little about . It’s also delivered in an amusing manner . I know it’s probably the economics of it but if only the episodes and series could be more regular

    Just happened upon this podcast...
...looking for more information about Liberia. Now I’ve listened to all the episodes because I love learning more about little known places! After each episode, I look at their YouTube links which usually leads me down a rabbit hole watching travel documentaries. I listened to the Utah episode before I went there this year and was spitting facts I learned in this podcast the whole trip. Def worth a listen!

    Fabulous show!
I've been listening for a few years and the hosts do a great job presenting the histories in compelling but balanced ways. The music choices are often times excellent and the diversity of locations is insightful. I would highly recommend!

    Hunger for adventure: Satisfied
I found this podcast whilst deep in the bowels of Reddit and have since binged through a season and a half between two lonely 7 hour drives; it is quite possibly the only thing that kept me sane during this time. I am consistently surprised by each episode and wholeheartedly plan to listen to every episode out and every one that will come out. As someone who finds myself often lost in the Wikipedia page of a random country, this podcast is everything I could dream of in learning about the intricacies of a people's culture and home. As a broke college student this is about as close to world travel as I can do. I am beyond thrilled to keep listening and will definitely share with anyone/everyone, these guys deserve it!

    Great Podcast
Granted I'm a big geography nerd, but this is a great podcast. The guys have a laid back but thourough approach and they pack a TON of info into each episode. Keep 'em coming!

    Captivating and addicting!
If you are the type of person that loves to continue learning and enjoys history and geography, this is the podcast for you! Why listen to that same mediocre song you heard yesterday (and the day before that) when you can travel the world with these guys? I spent the summer falling in love with this podcast. I hope you will give it a try!!

    Excellent podcast
I found this podcast after the gentlemen posted on the Faroe Islands subreddit and I could not be happier that they did. I LOVE this podcast! Fantastic information about history, culture and current situation of smaller places around the world. Can’t recommend it enough!

I giggle like a little girl when I listen to this podcast
Seriously it’s hard to think of enough superlatives for this great podcast. The three guys put on a tremendous show that’s both fun and educational. Well done lads!

    My Favorite Podcast
I’ve tried to write a review on here a few times but I’m terrible with technology so I don’t think they ever got posted. I was shocked to find this podcast years ago because it seems aimed specifically at me. I love love love learning lesser known histories and exploring the hidden corners of the globe. If you love travel or history it’s the best out there. Also incredibly funny. Every time a new episode comes out it’s like receiving a present. I can’t wait to get swept away to another faraway place.
  • Ariventi
    Keep it up guys !!!
The only request I have is to please pleaseee include the well known places, not only the little, forgotten ones ! I love this podcast. I am learning so much. An objective, comprehensive description of a ton of different locations around the world. So helpful and slowly coming out of my bubble of ignorance :)
  • Gish Abroad
    This geography teacher says YES!!!
Great podcast. The three hosts work really well together to cover each location in an informative and sensitive manner. Adds a wider perspective about the world to my teaching. Thanks!

A Great Show for Wikipedia Black Holes
If you are one of those people who kills time durring breaks by browsiing around Google Maps and Wikipedia, this one is for you. The hosts are engaging and the places are fascinating. A solid show.

    Great show
As someone who works as a geographer, I love this podcast. I always find I learn something new and useful for my field, and the information is presented in a very entertaining manner. I recommend anyone who wants to learn more about the world we live in to give this podcast a listen.

    Fate led me here
While watching a documentary, I realized I wanted to find a podcast (if one existed) to give me the “Wikipedia version” history of places around the world. Google led me here as it is kind of close to what I originally wanted. The coincidence? The documentary was about Namibia. Episode 1 is about Namibia. The universe has spoken
  • billardito
    Great show
Very informative and interesting. The format is unique compared to many history podcasts in that it takes you through all the history of a particular place in a single episode. I’m a fan and recommend this podcast.

    Best geography podcast out there
The best geography podcast out there. If you have any interests in geopolitics, international studies, history, or random trivia this is the podcast for you. Educational and entertaining presented by three Irish guys. Definitely brings to light many less talked about places across the globe. 10/10.

    History, geography, and humor.
Does exactly as it says on the tin: 80 Days is a thoroughly researched deep dive into places you’ve maybe never heard of, recounted with attention to detail and storytelling.

    Awesome Stuff!

    What a Show!
I have learned so much about many different countries from listening to this podcast! Especially countries that are lesser known to most westerners! Fascinating!

    Super Interesting!
If you love geography and learning about the world, definitely listen to these guys. Super informational and interesting facts and they’re fun to listen to as well! There’s a ton of small, interesting countries so I hope for many, many more episodes!
  • ChadBrowning
    Great stuff
Fellow geography nerd here. I love this podcast. Keep up the good work fellas! I like that you pick the lesser known countries/territories because their story is little known and the research into them is not nearly as easy. When I listen I'm literally hearing some of these histories for the first time which makes it fascinating. Thanks!
  • Shannonmuir
    Just right
In my trivia league, everyone is terrible at geography, so I though I wouls study it a bit to get a leg up. It turns out that memorizing maps is pretty boring. This podcast is great because it provides just the right level of context and detail to keep things interesting, and doesn't assume this listener is already a history or geography buff. Thanks, guys! Keep it up!

    Travel without the travel!
I wish history class had been more like this when I was in school! Joe, Luke and Mark have clearly done a lot of research on these episodes, but they make it conversational and fun. Also it's just cool (and appropriate) that they record remotely from three very differently parts of the world. It's like traveling without having to actually, you know...travel.
  • FantasyBaller9000
    Riveting!
Absolutely riveting! Anyone that loves history and geography should listen to this. Very informative and great pacing that keeps it interesting.
  • George3715
    Great
Very informative and very well researched. Also, great chemistry between the hosts which makes for a great listen.

    like school but enjoyable
Big picture; this podcast works. 3 guys talk about a little known place in the world. In the pocastwold its a nice change of pace - this is an informative podcast, not a school lecture, it’s much more light hearted and fun. For those who want to learn about interesting places, or just want to hear a great conversation, this is it.
  • Letsplore Adrian
    Travel Addict
I aspire to visit as many countries as possible. These guys have such awesome chemistry and insight on countries that are less known but still as amazing.
  • PennyPriddy
    Learned a ton
I love the idea of doing a podcast on countries whose histories are less widely known. If you're looking for a travel guide, this won't quite be what your'e lookign for, but if you're looking for a really fun informative podcast to learn more about places on the planet you might not have learned about in school (unless you live in that country), this is exactly what you've been looking for.
  • Random Red
    Where will they go next?
I'm looking forward to learning more about all the countries they're visiting. It's been fun and educational so far!
  • Zakphilancel
    Excellent!
Suggested topics: Falkland Islands, palenques in Colombia, Zanzibar, Georgia Armenia & Azerbaijan, welsh settlements in Argentina, Missourian French, Madagascar, Lesotho, Friesland, bikini island.

    Informative and fun
80 Days: An Exploration Podcast is a very enjoyable format. The hosts have good chemistry, and their episodes are well planned and educational. If you enjoy traveling the world, plan on traveling the world, or like to learn obscure world history, you need to subscribe to this podcast.

    A joy and an education
Bravi, and encore! If you're looking to better understand the planet you live on, I should say that 80 Days offers well-nigh unrivaled return on the investment of half an hour. Very pleasant, very informative; if these three bold explorers follow this concept for, shall we say, two hundred-ish episodes, they shall have created a unique trove of entertainment and learning.
