    Thank you Phil and Danielle
Love this weekly podcast. This father-daughter duo has helped me gain courage and confidence to do my own research and invest. Read all their easy to read and understand books. Love, respect and a little fun surrounds such a hard subject to teach and learn. Thank you Phil and Danielle! PS I appreciate the “from the vault “. They are always relevant as you bring them when something is going on in the market!

    Great podcast!
I love this podcast! I also read their book and did Phil’s workshop. Good stuff! You haven’t put one out in a while, so I hope all is well with you two.

    Keep it focused on investing
I’ve learned a lot listening the Phil and Danielle for several years. I feel more confident in my approach to principled investing. Please keep up the balanced podcasts, and don’t refer us to any more MAGA podcasts. The strength of the podcast is in your differing perspectives.

    Great stuff
For every hater that nitpicks the podcast for minor things they dislike. I like it overall especially when they talk about holding stocks longterm and big moat quality companies at reasonable prices.

    Nonstop keyboard background clicking
Phil and his daughter are nice people, but the nonstop keyboard clicking makes the show terrible to try to hear them. Sadly, I won’t be able to listen to this one anymore :(

    Incredibly inspiring to change
I have had fear of investing my entire life. I work in the financial industry, but have not attained wealth or abundance. I am 58 years old. This is the first time that I have been completely inspired to change my life for the better. Phil and Danielle have broken down the wall of fear that has consumed me. I feel positive, passionate and ready to do this. I am with them 100%. I cannot thank the two of you enough for starting this podcast. Danielle asks the questions that I have asked myself over and over again. Phil answers the questions in laymen’s terms. Danielle’s book is also excellent!!!

    Excellent!
Great podcast, I attended your seminars it was great a lot of information. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Redundant
This podcast has failed to evolve over the years. They always go off tangent and the dynamic they have with each other is very awkward for a podcast. Phil appears a bit condescending at times especially when Danielle raises good points and asks decent questions. I am unsubscribing.

    Danielle
It was a fantastic podcast until Danielle interrupted way to many times with her fingernails on black board voice. Constantly interrupting Phil and then bickering back and forth, and also Phil and Danielle starting on investing and going down so many rabbit holes i loose interest in their once great podcast. Also their talk about all this personal stuff isn’t what I’ve come for thanks but no thank you

Getting to know the Town Family
I feel like their credibility goes up the more I get to know them. I’ve started back from the very beginning as I want to learn to be a Rule 1 investor - walking along side Danielle is super helpful.

    I've loved this podcast, but...
I can't stand the tone he uses with his daughter. For that reason, I'm no longer subscribing.

    Poor Sound
Phil needs to speak into the microphone.

    Invested
Danielle Town’s book, Invested, is my favorite investing book, for investing in stocks. It does a great job at teaching investors how to value companies using three different methods.

Content is Great but Interest Waining
Phil’s audio quality combined with Danielle’s constant interruptions is making what was a great podcast unlistenable. More Phil and less condescending Danielle (not less Danielle per se) will go a long way. Also Danielle has a beautiful natural voice but the vocal fry is unbearable.

    Very disappointing
Thought I’d give it a try for some investing ideas. He started talking about climate change. That’s ok, it’s his show, but then it quickly turned into some conspiracy theory nonsense. It’s painful to hear such blatantly illogical conclusions as what he reached.

    Great podcast - awful sound
I’ve been listening to the podcast often on for several years and love it. I tried to listen to the episode recorded on 12/6/22 read my AirPods at the highest volume setting and missed 80% of what Phil said because his recording volume is way too low. Ironically the first review that pops up in iTunes said the exact same thing. Love y’all’s podcast. Please record in a way that does it justice!

Investing for the Rest of Us!
I found out about Phil a few years ago and this podcast only this year. Loved going back to the beginning and listening through all the old episodes. Phil have a wonderful teaching style that is easy to understand and follow. Disclosure, I have taken his online workshop and 1 year course. I have tried a little investing in the past but now I’m feeling more confident understanding what to invest in and how. Read his book Rule #1 for sure! I love having Danielle on as she asks questions that I might have been thinking or even afraid to ask. It truly is a father coaching his daughter about his passion. Keep on going the information is gold!

    Compliment
Really loved the back and conversation between father and daughter on today’s pod
  • mandimiller
I want to love it buttttttt
The daughter interrupts everyone and talks over them often. And the awkward “you need to chill” in head start for investing was reason I unsubscribed. Wish them the best.

Great info, but hard to listen to
Great principles to learn here, but you have to put up with several sound issues. One host’s voice is often at half the volume of the other, so I’m constantly adjusting the volume, and they pop the mikes regularly, making me feel like someone just shot me in the ear every time. But i hope they sort it out and keep putting out the good info.
  • BringBackValueInvesting
Should be called “Phil’s political hour”
Since his investing is completely confirmation bias informed by political views

What Happened to Google - let’s make bank
I really enjoyed this episode with the lively discussion between Phil and Danielle. This episode got me thinking about Google a little differently.Although I am part of Phils generation, I am with Danielle let’s figure out a way to make BANK with our information

    Learning a lot
Learning a lot but I agree the sound needs adjusting. Thank you for being transparent and not hiding your areas of disagreement. Love the father daughter dynamic. Reminds me of me and my dad😀

    Best investing podcast out there!
Best investing podcast out there. Never miss a week. Thanks for everything you’re teaching!

    Please fix the sound mixing.
Lots of great information on the show. My only request is for you to PLEASE FIX the sound levels. I have to turn up the volume to here Phil speak and then my ears get blasted when an ad suddenly comes in at a much higher volume. Please fix this. I’ve had to stop listening to the pod on my walks because of this.
  • tommyyyyyyy1
Phil is great. Danielle is annoying.
Love this show and all it’s teaching. Danielle thinks she is in charge and talks over her dad, who has real wisdom. Will keep listening however!

    Great Show
I like your show, great content… good stuff. I really like the sound of Danielle’s voice… something about it that just tingles the ear.

    Informative Podcast
Enjoying the podcast. I appreciate the commonsense advice you are offering. Wish I discovered you guys years before.

    Focus
Love the concept and how this father/daughter team came together. Danielle’s book is a great read with valuable information. I would recommend reading that instead of listening to the podcast, which needs help from a producer to keep the conversation on topic and fix the sound as the ads often scream because the regular recording is in such a low volume. Time is money. Invest yours is one that respects your time.
  • opheliahannah
    Too much chatter
The content could have been much more concise and less chatter.
  • Dodgerblue50
    Good could be so great
As great as Phil is, his interrupting, condescending, brat of a daughter almost ruins the show. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DANIELLE, SHUT UP AND LET YOUR DAD SPEAK! I’m sure in real life you’re not as insufferable as you are on this podcast. Then again, maybe you are.
  • thechasman4
    Here for Phil only
Like many others have said, Phil is great and Danielle needs to be suffered through to get back to Phil. Danielle interrupts at crucial points, generally misses the point, and clearly upsets Phil at times. Would be 5 stars, but Danielle is truly detrimental to the product.
  • GROUpONuser234
A lot of gems, but Danielle is terrible
There is a lot of knowledge in the podcast but the daughter interrupts right when it’s about to click

    Great duo
Phil Town is a great teacher & his daughter is honest about regular folks and their mindset on investing. I enjoy how Phil respects his daughter's opinion on different aspects, even when it doesn't match his rule #1 investing philosophy. One gripe I had was on one podcast Phil praises Donald Trump about how honest & great he is. That seriously makes me want to question his judgment. We all know Trump is an immoral fraud... Beside that it's a great listen for anyone willing to learn about investing.

    Real value
Could you think about real value of your episodes? I feel like previous episodes had more information than recent episodes. It’s clear you enjoy talking to each other, but if other people listen, could you think of something to share with them besides your feelings?

I am grateful for index funds
Warren agrees. Value investing is not recommended for most people. Phil and Danielle are nice people.

Some days I learn more than others…
Having been a long time student of Phil (workshop and a 1 year course), I can honestly say I have never been more confidant in my investing ability. His teaching style is second to none and he truly has a gift. I love the way he’s gotten me to rethink and think even more about my money and how to grow it. He’s been doing that since I saw him at a conference 10 years ago!!! I do agree with some of my fellow reviewers though when it comes to Danielle interrupting. Many times I find myself saying out loud “please let him finish his thought!” I love the back and forth and I hope my daughter and I can have these same conversations. I wont stop listening :)

Where were you guys 40 years ago😩
Phenomenal financial podcast! I went to a “RuleOne” seminar back in Sept’2019… And Loved it! There is one caveat that a previous reviewer wrote which I agree on… When Phil is making a point or teaching his audience, Danielle interrupts in the most inopportune time, taking away his teaching(s) &/or knowledge. There is obvious chemistry b/t Father & Daughter, but the financial muse is Phil by several decades! Continue the Great Podcast!

    Insufferable Danielle
I have been a long term listener here to listen about Phil. Danielle is an intolerable brat who thinks interrupting Phil is cool. We are here despite you Danielle. So please let Phil speak
  • fionas mammo
    New to investing
Phil Towne appears to really care about what he teaches. I believe he wants investors to succeed. The conversation between him and Danielle are genuine like a father and daughter should be. He is consistent in his advice even if you have to listen to some superfluous chatter.
  • Truth teller 1223
    Helpful but frustrating
Danielle, please stop interrupting and arguing with your dad! Phil is about a million times more educated than you when it comes to the topic of investing and finances. I’m sure you’re an amazing lawyer but we are here to learn from him and all you’re doing is interrupting his great points for the sake of arguing.
  • malfoxley
    Great show!
Phil and Danielle, hosts of the InvestED: The Rule #1 Investing Podcast, highlight all aspects of investing strategies and more in this can’t miss podcast! The hosts and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone that listens!

    We are here for Phil
This podcast is good, Danielle is insufferable at times and something you just have to struggle through, to hear Phil’s opinion.
  • joemonty04
    5-11 episode
Rough episode. Danielle in the wrong on almost all points. Painful to listen to. Management works for the shareholders, and esg isn’t what you think it is.
  • vhamidreza
    Waste of time
This podcast started well but the the quality deteriorated over time. I have been trying to keep following this podcast but some episodes are SO BAD that I just feel bad wasting time listening. First, the contents are overwhelmingly repetitive. They either talk about stuff that has been covered before or they just play an old episode multiple times! Second, they obviously have no plan for what to talk about in each episode. For example, the title says “dividends” but they keep talking about topics that are totally irrelevant to the financial world!! And they do that every single time! The least you could do is to choose better titles for the episodes. If you don’t talk about dividends then don’t put it in the title!!! Simple! Third, Phil Town contradicts himself so many times! I can’t even count!! First he says we are only long-term now he says, “oh yeah, entering short term position with calculated probability is OKAY!!” He doesn’t have the courage to acknowledge the fact that he does short-term and long-term trading and investing JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!! He wants to sell his ideas as if they are different! FYI, everything he talks about in his workshop/seminar is exactly the same as his 20 year old book and the the earlier podcasts. So don’t pay for what you can get for free. He is taking advantage of the people who don’t know what they are getting.

    Annoying
Phil is a gem of knowledge and I wish he had his own podcast. Danielle is so annoying and so distracting that I can’t keep listening. She disagrees with everything and brings so much attitude when clearly Phil is right. I’ll tune in when Phil has his own pod.
  • LaurenRedCD
    Long answer getting longer
A listener calls in asking a great question, also take note that the hosts ask to keep the questions short. The host rambles on and on before the other host finally interrupts him and asks him to get back to the question. I’m looking for an investment podcast, this isn’t it.

    10/10
Absolutely love this podcast, best listened to in tandem with his books. Leaders are readers!
  • benjamin.hayden
Worthwhile listen but not always easy to listen to
Phil Town’s books are much better for learning material. This is more conversational discussions with some good nuggets in there. If you listen to the podcasts with the goal of it being an informative lecture series you are going to have a bad time (in my opinion). Once I stopped thinking of it in that mindset I started enjoying it more. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is having to listen to Danielle write everything down.

    I Enjoy This Podcast
I really enjoy this podcast. I’m trying to better understand how investing works (in general) and it’s like overhearing a dad talking to his daughter about investing. I find it to be personable. Keep up the good work!
