Gmpla323Thank youThe review that John Dickerson has done has been fantastic.. I rarely hear anyone do political reviews in such an objective, concise way with a bit of humor sprinkled in. I have to say that I will miss you. Thank you for being so excellent at your job

MaryFKHGood bye JohnI loved the Face the Nation Diary. You will be missed John, but we will hear you on the Political Gabfest and see you in the AM on CBS.

Km2346So sad this is endingThis podcast was the highlight of the week for me. The 24 hour news cycle is a rollercoaster and having this weekly news roundup and summary with John’s presentation was great.

Literary FanNo one is better prepared than John DickersonOne of the best, comprehensive, concise, informative, balanced political journalists of our times. This is my favorite weekly podcast, hands down.
-
FmhansenA must listen to catch up on the week.Presented with subdued flair and wit. Making the week’s news entertaining even if the facts are at times depressing. All thanks to John’s presentation and intelligence.
-

PodhausThe Best Weekly News Digest.Understated and human, this is a podcast that provides clarity, rather than adding to the noise. A chronological retelling of the week, with gentle analysis, rather than polemicism. I'm so grateful for John Dickerson's perspective, and that this perspective is not diluted with the competing analyses of the various talking heads. This is the legacy of Murrow and Cronkite.
-
JDS2222Too snarkyHoping that this would be a good review of the week's news with some insight and analysis. Have now listened to a number of episodes and where I was hoping this would be a news review podcast, but it is so littered with snarky comments and silly editorials that it comes across as a dry version of John Oliver.
-
Ben of the USAExcellent and detailed weekly recapI really like this podcast. I feel like the recap with minimal (though often witty) commentary gives me a fair accounting of the weeks political roller coaster without having to actually take the ride.
-
ww2ndWitty, droll, informative!Fast becoming my favorite podcast. It feels like an intimate conversation rehashing the weeks news with an intelligent and amusing friend. Try it and I'm sure you'll be hooked.

Dan BarkleySteeped in the culture of DC and historical contextNo one is reporting on politics better than John Dickerson. FTN, the Diary, Whistlestop, and his work on Slate's Political Gabfest are all must-listens for people who seek to understand what's really going on in our mudslinging, dysfunctional political scene today. Bonus: he does it with class and without the "Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! Truck Show!" hyperbole that overwhelms much of political commentary these days. He's charmingly un-cool - and all class. When every week is jam-packed with news and revelations, it's hard to keep up, or to keep it all in context. That's why FTN Diary is my every-Friday PM listen to make sure I got all the political events of the week.
-

Tom, Reston, VA -on the roadErudite, but not stuffyOne of the best podcasts in the podcast-o-sphere! Dickerson is raw-boned funny. I've been listening for a long time, and can't get enough. I cackled my way (sans cowboy hat) across Montana at this podcast just today. If you have room for but one podcast on your "dial," make it Face the Nation diary. You'll get caught up on all that's news for the week in an eurdite but not stuffy way. (wah-wah)

-
IshMael1983JD is insightful, unbiased, and trustworthyjust one of the best podcasts out there for people who are trying to make sense of the insanity that is our political world.
-
ggosyHelpful clear step by step thru complicated weekI listen to the podcast in the morning while walking my dogs and other daily chores. Thank you for making all of this horrible news palatable and easy to follow.

KarSwissThe Best Week In Review AnywhereWe love this podcast and were prompted to write this review because at the end of this week John asked us to let him know where we listen to the podcast. This week we listen to it in part in the car, in part in the kitchen, and listen to it for a second time while on my bicycle. Last month we were in Switzerland hiking, and listened to it on the trail. We tend to listen to it twice. Unlike so many podcast which are filled with empty space and fluff and nonsense, this podcast is pissy and never wasted word.
-
Candace42Great Overview of the WeekProvides a rundown and analysis of developments in US politics and policy.
-
Stewart96782Extraordinary InterviewerA great summary of events that leads up to his home, Face The Nation. His delivery works here better than on Whistlestop. Maybe because Whistlestop is more story and that show's format makes it harder to use his natural gift of wit, which is best used in the Political Gabfest. I especially enjoy the constant adjustment to the information given during the interview which shows his greatest strength, he listens. He also finds a way to ask penetrating questions that sound simple but could easily produce problems if the interviewee is careless or not prepared.
-
Aaron1192Intelligent, witty, fair and balancedJohn Dickerson is erudite, thoughtful and clever in his review of the week's news. Combining this podcast with the Slate Political Gabfest gives me an excellent overview of important events and a deep drive into issues of particular political import with meaningfully argued positions and a more relaxed and jovial Mr. Dickerson.
-
DwdutchRefreshingly insightfulThis podcast offers a refreshingly insightful perspective on the news of the week. I appreciate that the host provides both a succinct summary of the issues occurring on each day but also puts the events in-context (e.g. Explaining the actual limited economic impact of a trade agreement that, based solely on the wording of the public announcement, would have major ramifications).
-
MattAttack435The best political podcast yesThis is hands down the best news/politics podcast. Period.

DefensmanMore And More People Need To Listen To This!John Dickerson is remarkable. He shows that volume of work can be combined with quality of work to make an extraordinary contribution to both understanding current event, but also the place those events hold in history. He writes well. He has wit without mocking those he covers. He grounds his review of the week in a strong historical context. I always feel more informed after listen to John Dickerson. If I could only listen to five podcasts in a week, this would be one!
-
Kirtie872Class ActJohn Dickerson handles his work in a manner that shows such class and depth of humanity; all the while he makes it appear smooth and simple (although no doubt quite a lot of work). I listen to everything I can find him on. Thanks!

DCSkinsFanExcelent Run down of the week's highlightsBoy,I love seeing this cast show in my feed. The cutting and witty way he calls out politicians on both sides for their hypocrisy. I think this method should be taught at every Journilism school. He recent interview with President Trump was outstanding, he really held him to what he said in the campaign compared to what he is saying now. Add in the fun little sound effects that make it just that more entertaining.
-
Matthew VaughnStop the sound effectsAnyone else have a problem listening to this with headphones? He sound effects are way too loud. Besides that excellent broadcast.
-
bodhigrrrlMVP most valuable podcastHands down, the best 30min every week. I wish John Dickerson would run for president.
-
HeavyPlanetGreat Podcast to Keep up With the Week in NewsIn a time when news, investigations, policy reversals and unexpected new directions pour forth from the capital at an unprecedented pace, Face the Nation Diary is much appreciated. John Dickerson’s delivery is fast paced, wry and (most importantly) informative. Looking forward to more.
-
@NicholeRahmThank you! This is a great summary of how we got to where we are, one week at a time.
-
Scoop4Dickerson wit and wisdomA great quick take on the week's political happenings, with John Dickerson's wit and wordplay on subtle display. Audio quality issues which appeared in the run-up to the November election have been resolved.
-

WBcoupleOne of our favoritesDickerson's journalistic skill and experience are at the fore. Good way to get sharp analysis and highlights of the week's important events.
-
AMH19Helpful summation of the week's newsThis is a very helpful weekly digest. The sound effects are pretty hokey, which adds to the appeal, haha.
-
danootsLove the Reboot! The post-election re-imagining of this podcast has been a lot of fun to listen to. Dickerson brings just the right amount of snark to make the whole experience entertaining as well as informative.
-
tgunnisonGreat podcast - informative and wittyOne can tell a lot of thought and effort goes into the writing. Very well done!
-
EekSpiderCan't get enough, JDI am so glad for the return of Face the Nation Diary! I was a big fan before the election. Mr D's insights and thought processes, revealed here, are genuine, interesting, fair, while being accessible to the general audience (ME!) I love Slate's Political Gabfest and Face the Nation, but Mr D's musings in this Diary are possibly my favorite. I especially enjoy the casual way he reads from his notes, almost as though he is thinking aloud. Well done!
-
MLinPABest weekly political synopsis out thereJohn Dickerson is fantastic. He is witty and intelligent. He hits all the angles of the story yet he is concise. Highly recommended.

gobears1294Just the week's news and analysis. Getting past the spin and partisanshipI've been listening to John Dickerson for a long time. He is an amazing journalist and has a knack for presenting the news in an entertaining and balanced way. If you want to get through all the partisan bickering, insults, and mocking, listen to this podcast to learn and understand what has happened in the past week.
