manayunk wallyou missed the storyThis was a OUTSTANDING story (the Syndicate) but the real story is this "reconsideration hearing" that Tree gets that allows him to be released of his 11 year sentence!! Dude THAT is the story!!! What happemed there??
-
Rick 645446669Can you be serious??Chris Walker sounds like a dude wearing knee-high socks learning how to rollerskate and talking about the Doobie smokeage bro… what an actual kook… maybe it’s just your bowl cut and the in “the spectrum” look of your face???🤪

NullityLost interestLost interest in episode three. unsubscribed

juliejunketTotally cracked me upFirst, the long form storytelling is top notch. Second, the loose lips…honestly, I’ll be surprised if there aren’t more indictments stemming from the content of this season (grabs popcorn…). But the absolute highlight? Garbage Breath & I owned condos in the same downtown Mpls. building 20+ years ago (he hasn’t changed a bit).

Katrina-2000Wonderful podcast, loaded with information!I binged on this show this week and loved every minute. Excellent scripting, broadcasting, and story-telling. The host, Chris Walker, is engaging and obviously interested in the topic, including how the bumps in Colorado's attempt to legalize cannabis can inform other states, policymakers, and the federal government to knock down barriers to reasonable use of this substance. I especially enjoyed the review he did of the history of cannabis in the US and the impact of the drug scheduling as ushered in and signed into law in 1970 under president Richard M Nixon Nixon with the Controlled Substance Act. Well worth the subscription.

FreakingFerbInterviewsA very interesting story but this guy did a 10 minute interview with each person and reused the same audio clips 3-4 times.

-
David1083OverproducedI like good podcasts. But I couldn’t make it past episode 2 with this one. Too much music in the background and too many sound effects.
-
JessicaPaige1Wow!Very interesting story. I especially like that the creator came back with bonus episodes with additional info. The history of pot in the US is intriguing 🤨
-
ajoelkMuch ado about nothingThinking there would be a good story about something new or intriguing, I was very disappointed. This is basically listening to a bunch of criminals being given a platform to tell their story and brag and laugh about it with no remorse whatsoever. Just a story about a small time drug bust.
-
️TNR supporterWell doneFirst I just want to mention that I almost didn’t even bother listening because I noticed in the description the mention of Foxtopus Inc. Seeing that, I figured Fox News might be involved and I avoid them at all costs. But I did listen and found it super interesting and well done. The host is easy to listen to and informative. I usually do like all investigative journalism.
-
Jack GFascinating StuffQuality work from a quality journalist – loved the third podcast in particular, which made me subscribe. Looking forward to more.

jack mcquackGreat JournalismThis is a very well produced look at the cannabis industry and the challenges it faces in the midst of legalization. It’s also a fascinating story about some very interesting individuals.
-
cgarrelHorrible! This is the hardest thing I’ve ever listened to in my life. Worst voice worst slurring find a new voice this was torture couldn’t even make it through one episode.
-
dqirieurbddWe get it, you named this organization.Question: why can criminals get away with using illegal profits to hire a lawyer?
-
sllimaraikStop saying POC when it’s about Black peopleUsing POC instead of Black in this conversation about mass criminalization and incarceration is wrong and incredibly irresponsible.
-
myszka & mouseGreat listenThank you, great reporting, great storytelling.
-

BFGoodflipGreat storyBeing from MN, and having skydived at west side (joe’s business) around 2013, I’m guessing I rode in a plane that was filled with weed the week before and the week after haha! One bit of feedback on the audio. The interviewer/narrator volume is pretty consistent, but often the interviewee is extremely quiet, forcing you to turn up the volume which then blasts you out when the narrator speaks again. Might want to run a normalizer and limited on the whole track (sorry, audio nerd here). Great work, and I’m working through your other shows now.
-
209HITMANWaiting for the movieThis was the first podcast of it sort that I have listened to, at first I had trouble engaging because by comparison it was different from my usual subscriptions, by the second episode I was hooked and couldn’t wait for the next one. Great story telling, I truly wish it was a movie now.
-
lame nicknamrLame ending...Interesting content, lame ending. Needs more closure. Kind of disappointing way to end.
-
Long Time Listener1Super interesting, but holy adsSuper cool story but all the ads are seriously distracting. They draw you out of the story and it makes it harder to follow. I understand how podcasts are funded, but come on.
-
TheQuietRatKillerLacks IntegrityThis podcast exploits the private life of a cannabis activist AGAINST his wishes for his families privacy including the actual recordings of the man begging for mercy to be left alone. EXTREMELY distasteful, the journalist clearly scrambled when he hit the brick wall that would have made the story worth listening to. However, the journalist became great friends with the slime ball that eagerly put all of his friends in a cage because of his own mistakes, “Jumpin Joe” from Austin, Texas is a disgraceful piece of scum that deserves no platform, but him and the journalist who made this piece sure got along well... go figure.
-
LindzStratt23Such an awesome listen!!!Incredible and nearly unbelievable true story. I personally appreciated the history and research put into this.
-
Boston2KailuaGood but...Good podcast but an insane amount of ads. Like once every 6-10 minutes 90 seconds of ads. Kind of absurd.
-
Ruck masterWorth itAwesome story and awesome reporting
-
heathervanfWowReally good and shocking to hear. It’s amazing what we don’t know
-
jak04nFact is way more wild than fictionThis is a wild story. I live in Denver, so know all of these places- but am so amazed that this kind of drug smuggling ring existed in plain site. They handled so. Much. Weed and money. Nuts Great story telling, Chris! Recommending this podcast to all my peeps
-
RUVERSACEObsessedThis is probably my favorite podcast ever. It was so interesting and had me at the edge of my seat the entire time, and I could not wait every Tuesday for them to release a new episode. Can’t wait for more!
