Commercials too annoying for such a short podcast
I like the content, but the recent very annoying, loud, and jarring M1 Finance commercial at the start of the podcast was just too much. Commercial at the start, 60 seconds of content, and commercial at the end. It’s just too many commercials. When that starting commercial became annoying, it was the straw that broke the camels back for me, so I unsubscribed. I switched to WSJs Minute Briefing that is similar in length and 3 times/day. It also has a commercial at the beginning, but it’s not loud and annoying (yet!), and I like their content.

    No longer Worth my time
Short, concise, accurate. Market news without commentary, love this podcast, but 45 seconds of commercials for 60 seconds of news has me dropping this from a five star review and out of my must listen daily lineup. Sorry Marketplace.

Horrible advertising intro, otherwise good show
I have decided not to listen to the show anymore because the opening 15 to 20 seconds announcer of an advertisement is so obnoxious so loud so disruptive, It is really hard to listen to the show

Quit trying to change the message
I enjoy catching up on financial issues in the market. But I’m tired of hearing the commercials for social justice in Podcasts. I came to this podcast for relevant information not a lesson. You may wanna rethink your commercials.

    The ads, the ads
Actual Marketplace Minute content is great, and used to listen to 1 or more at a time. The ads are too much though - I stopped listening to this podcast months ago. To the Marketplace team, I’m really sorry!

Love the podcast, hate one ad
I love this podcast. Short, to the point. But, will be unsubscribing because of the EXTREMELY loud, AM talk radio ad from Discover that plays nearly every episode. I’m not even complaining that there’s a 15 second ad before a 1-minute podcast. But it is literally louder than anything from any podcast or video or tv commercial I’ve ever experienced. What’s worse, I’ve heard a similar Discover ad that uses a different, softer voice, and it’s just fine. But, for some reason APM can’t get that version of the ad.

Screaming Sponsor Ads ruin great content
Want to rate podcast with 5 stars for its content. However, the screaming loud ads ruin the experience and makes me want to avoid listening to the podcast. Really makes me appreciate all the sponsors of other podcasts who share their products without screaming.

    Done with repetitive ads
The content is great. I love the idea of quick updates but sandwiching the content into the ads to try and force us to listen to ads... I will start reading online to get info

    Very loud & obnoxious advertisements
Get your ear plugs ready for loud and obnoxious Discover Card advertisements that take up most of the podcast. What the heck people. Be more selective regarding the advertisements you accept.
  • DamDanny
    Irritated
5 of the same obnoxious Discover card ads for a 2 minute report. What to hear something interesting? I’m done with your podcast.

    More Repetitive Ads Than Content
I wanted a quick market update, because I don’t want to spend the time browsing financial news. So, one minute sounded great! But it’s actually two minutes, with a ½ minute of advertisement at the beginning and ½ minute at the end. Since I download episodes automatically into my queue, and that I sometimes have 3 (or more) MM episodes playing back-to-back, I get clubbed with 3 minutes of repetitive ads, because they tend to all be the same. Sorry to say, but I’m unsubscribing, even though I found the content useful (hence 2 stars rather than 1). I’ll get my financial news somewhere else.

    Really
Is it really necessary to have bookend advertisements for a ~1 minute podcast. Please get rid of the commercials for this podcast.

    Jarring, Disruptive Ads
I heard about Marketplace Minute a couple of weeks ago and thought I’d try it. A quick update, three times a day? What’s not to like? The next morning, I was assaulted by a pair of 15-second ads, at the beginning and end of the podcast, literally yelling at me to use some credit card. I know ads are sometimes necessary, but they should be delivered in a way that doesn’t disturb the listener and detract from the podcast. This cacophonous blast sounded like a cheap, used-car spiel you’d hear on late-night TV, and is the sort of thing that repels listeners. Taking up nearly 25% of the podcast, it just ain’t worth it. Goodbye. I’m sorry you drove me away.

    More ads than news.
I have unsubscribed. More ads than news. Pretty sad.

    Mostly Just Ads
I like the show, but it has about 30-60 seconds of ads for every minute of content. Also, they allow obnoxiously loud, yelling style ads unlike anything I’ve ever heard on an NPR program.

    Garbage: 33% ads
Well produced, but barely 60 second of content and 30 seconds of ads. How do they think that’s ok?
  • MattEdwardsen
    Great news highlights!
I appreciate this format to give quick highlights of news issues that allows me to chose those topics I wish to take a deeper dive. The hosts are great and concise in their delivery and I highly recommend as a first level news resource.

Cramming too much into one minute
I love Marketplace so wanted to give this one a shot. However, I don’t think this one is worth listening to. They seem to have great content each episode but they cram way too much into one minute and rush through it all. They basically just read off 10 different headlines within one minute & it’s hard to keep up with. You’re better off just listening to Marketplace itself or whatever other Marketplace podcast you listen to.
  • kimbiey85
    Want to like it
I listen to all of their other podcasts and I love the info but I binge a week and I CANT deal with the repeat commercials.
