Little Women (version 3 dramatic reading) by Louisa May Alcott (1832 - 1888)

14

Louisa May Alcott's beloved 1868 novel is about the four March girls - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy - who are growing up in Massachusetts during the Civil War. As the novel opens, their father is away at war, and the girls are struggling to be good and to reconcile themselves to their relative poverty. Each has her trials to deal with, and they are encouraged by their loving mother, and by their friendship with their neighbor, Theodore "Laurie" Laurence.

    Voices awful
Over the top ridiculous voice for Laurie. And the fake toddler voices were horrendous.

    Wonderful!
I’ve never been good at listening to audiobooks and podcasts but this was amazing! I’ve seen the movies a few times so I was familiar with the story but the volunteers here do a wonderful job of voicing the different characters. So grateful for the wonderful resource of Librivox and I’m looking forward to listening to many more!

    Really delivered!
I have never read Little Women even though I adore the film from 1994. So since I drive an hour for work, I thought this would be great. I especially like this podcast version because of the different voices. Some podcast books, do not offer a different voices for each character, which makes it difficult to tell who is who and follow along. Glad you this one does and I especially enjoy Laurie’s sweet voice <3
