Anything that Dave does, I will love - without exception. I just wanted a place to write about this pod though! This seems to be a No Effort podcast, which is definitely a podcast genre that a lot of people like. I titled my review as I did because the WFMU shows were dynamic: guests you didn’t know were going to be guests, calls, a reliable cast of weirdo callers, reoccurring bits (”You’re too kind!”), music. In other words, it was dynamic! With the most recent show, guests who are somewhat celebrated within a niche discuss the thing that they’re promoting with Dave. Their audio quality is usually quite bad. Sometimes, Dave isn’t on the Good Time Hour, and the listener is party to, you know, comic book things. I guess as a happy medium, I would love to see bringing guests on as the exception to the rule, the rule of just these three dudes talking about literally whatever. Anyways, I love DH and just want to see this pod take a turn!

Growing up in the small town Minnesota, this podcast makes me nostalgic for morning, AM frequency talk radio shows. Dave and his other guy keep me wonderful company, especially in lonely pandemic times. If I were to describe it, it’s up to date talk radio banter with some sex jokes. Best part? You can tune in live on YouTube and participate in the chat feature or call in. Come and be a part of an oddball, comedic community. (Not convinced? I almost forgot to mention we have t-shirts.) Dave is a good boy. He is kind and clean and seldom steals. Does his podcast rock? Yes. Yes, it does. Don’t be late to dinner, dum-dum. Listen to his audio stylings or be square! (Which is no good!). Too many right angles! Too many sides of similar dimensions! Yuck. Don’t do it! Be a cool octagon or a rhombus, square-boy. Dave hill will make you a suave and passionate love-maker. Don’t make me say it again.

Dave Hill is a comedy legend and I’ve been so glad he’s back to podcasting....I didn’t know I missed him, but having him back doing the pod (and more frequent live shows in queens) has been really fun and good for my life!

Really liking the relaunch of Dave Hill’s interview podcast. Fun, insightful interviews with heart & soul. I like the casual conversation over coffee with Dave’s dog chirping away in the background. Would like to hear Dave tie one on with a guest sometime.

Simply put David is an international treasure. He is a charming and affable host who can comfortably sit with anyone and have an engaging and fun conversation with them. Also, and this will be lost on the listener due to the non-visual nature of the medium, is one helluva a snappy dresser.

Dave brings the heat and more with each and every episode. Plenty of interesting interviews in the old episodes and now that he’s fired the show back up I expect more fun and frolic. Inevitably he’ll talk about his dog but that’s alright. It’s a good looking dog as far as dogs go. I’m not saying I’d take the dog out long term but give me a few beers and who knows what will happen over the course of an evening.

Dave Hill just grates. Does he think he's hilarious? I hope not. But I think so. He puts a lot of personality into his podcast but not enough content for me. I'm sure some people think he's awesome, and I can't fault them for that, but he's definitely not my style, so I'm not willing to wade through.

While this may not be for everyone, you should try an episode or two to see if you’re the type of person for whom it is totally awesome. I’d heard Dave Hill as a guest on a few podcasts and really enjoyed him- he seemed delightfully weird. His podcast is also delightfully weird. You get some of his thoughts which are meandering and unusual and interesting; and then an interview/ conversation- also meandering but in a wonderfully organic way. Try it and if you like it, you’ll totally love it.

Dave Hill? I'd never heard of him either. Apparently super-famous in select circles of New York, Dave Hill is a comedian, actor, musician, and according to his official website...a thief. Well, he stole my heart. When listening at a computer, one is compelled to search for his picture to match to his gentle, soothing voice and I can't imaging anyone being disappointed by what he finds. Hipster? Well, no... Classic and sexy. Sugar-sweet with a hint of zest. Those lips! Those eyes! He is a beauty, and that beauty translates to sound. Snuggle down in bed and you feel like Dave Hill is right there with you. He's the big spoon and his lips just behind your ear...whispering...enjoying the closeness as much as you are..and every once in a while giving you a little thrust from behind while pulling you closer. Also, there are guests.

Dave Hill brings both self deprecating humor and false bravado to the table with this podcast. His different segments bring his many talents to the forefront. He often shares songs from his different musical projects, short stories, listener mail and a conversation with other personalities. Enjoy it as much as I do.

If you like the wandering musings of a rather hilarious fellow, this podcast is for you. It meanders. Its pointless. Its like having schizophrenia that only manifests itself as a soft spoken funny man and his amusing companions deep in your subconscious. It definitely does not do pretentious. Relax and let the voices take you.

I have been getting really into the podcast in the last two weeks, and cannot stop listening to it. It is super funny, but I also find Dave's voice soothing so that is an added bonus. I find myself smiling the whole time I am listening, and trying not to laugh (because I am at work often when I listen). Anyway, I highly recommend this podcast, on this review and also to my own friends, so you know I mean it. ALSO, discovered Valley Lodge because of the podcast, and am so happy I did.

I tried to get into this podcast after it joined the Max Fun network (which usually hosts great shows), but I was so bored throughout the first few episodes I listened to. I think Dave Hill is a funny guy, but this show is so meandering and it just doesn't seem like he really cares about having funny content on his show. Disappointing.

Heard Dave on Risk! and thought he was hilarious so I looked him up and found his podcast. Holy hell. No way I can listen to an hour of his inane babble. Delete delete delete

This is one of the top podcasts out there and my personal favorite. Dave is hilarious in a way all of his own. His style of comedy is genius and humble all at the same time. He kills it on every episode, and oh yeah, he can also bring the rock heat! Check it, he's in many amazing bands. This guy is for real. Did you think I was done? Wrong! He dresses to the nines every day of his life. He is the King of Miami (downloadable from many reputable entertainment providing websites.) Whatever Dave does, he does right. Give it a try.
